Everything is fresh daily off the docks of Scituate Harbor. Need a party, ask them about the upstairs dining.

We ended up here for both a happy hour and lunch, and the food, cocktails, and service exceeded my expectations. The fish and chips rivaled what I had while visiting Seattle. The fish was perfectly cooked with a light, crispy batter that wasn't greasy at all. During our happy hour, I indulged in the fried oysters, and they were cooked to perfection. You could tell they were fresh and expertly prepared. If you're looking for a great happy hour, lunch, brunch, or dinner, Oysterman is a great choice! They do get busy, and if you are arriving with a large party, plan on reservations. They do have a separate bar area and a patio.

True to their name, they offer fresh local oysters, as well as littleneck clams, shrimp, and of course, locally caught fish. On our first HH visit, I ordered the Duxbury-sourced oysters. They were sweet as sugar and a tad briny, Perfecto. Plus one ordered fried oysters, and they were fried perfectly. Since our golf match was rained out, we stopped by for lunch. My fish tacos were on point. The cod was so tender, and the cole slaw was a perfect accompaniment. Plus one ordered fish and chips, and according to live feedback, they were as good as the ones she had in Seattle. Lightly breaded tender haddock equals 5-stars! She judges all fish and chips by the one she experienced in Seattle! Service is on point, and we rarely, if ever had to flag down our bartenders for refills. They do have a full bar and an interesting (in a good way) wine list. The main bar area does get busy, but there is a satellite bar area and a patio. Sports are king here, and they have multiple TVs, so it's easy to catch a game or catch up on the sports news of the day. ,

Well I was absolutely delighted with our choice for lunch out today…read more Missy was our server and was just wonderful.. a seasoned server for sure. I wasn't starving so I ordered an app. I saw the a great looking plate on someone's table behind us and asked what they were eating.. they said the tuna tartar and that it was really delicious.. that's all I needed to hear. He ordered a cheeseburger and fries. The food came quickly. My tartar was crazy delish. I couldn't wait to write this review for them. His burger was very good. All in all we had a great time. I had chance to speak with one of the managers who had told me the restaurant has gone through many changes.. like a new head chef. Hats off to him and the restaurant in general!

It was not particularly busy. We got sat outside right away. Hostess was very nice. Once seated we waited for 15-20 minutes before we ever saw a waitress. I don't usually keep track but when I start wondering where our server is it's usually a sign. The food was all ok. And maybe it was just our server being seldom seen. But at the end of the meal we had a $200+ bill for a dozen oysters two lobster rolls and a grilled cheese with two canned drinks that were ok. After waiting and waiting with our table stacked up and ready to leave we finally walked inside to find some way to pay because the waitress was missing again. Paying was sorted out quick and while I can't speak to what was going on we were told good help is hard to find. While I don't mind paying the full bill and reflect service in tip accordingly, it was not even offered to take a small item like a drink off. In short it's not what it used to be. Whether that's new ownership, bad luck, or a combination, but we will not be back for a while. There are better places for a lobster rolls and oysters. Just a shame really
