This was just ok. There was nothing that stood out from the property or the people but I'll get to that later. I got here on Wednesday and checked in late in the afternoon. The people at the desk weren't the friendliest. In fact, they seemed less than enthused about me being there. Once the check-in process was complete, I went up to my room. It seemed nice at first, but upon entry it felt like a sauna! I went out and got dinner and figured fit just needed time to cool down since it was much hotter than usual. After coming back, I noticed the temperature hadn't changed. I alerted the desk upon on my way to work out to let them know. When I got done from working out, I noticed it still hadn't changed so I asked them again and then sent someone up. He deconstructed the unit and gave me the "VIP" temperature, which unlocks it to go past 65. He said he put it at 60 and said it'll cool down in 10 mins. Now, while he was giving his spiel, he specifically said something about the hot water being off. I asked if that meant I wouldn't have hot water for my shower and he said no because they were separate units. I beg to differ. Once he left, I hopped in the shower and surprise surprise, no hot water. It wasn't even lukewarm. Not to mention, it never cooled down and I woke up sweating. I alerted them in the morning what went on and asked if I could switch rooms. The attendant said she'd award me 5,000 points for my trouble and gave me a new room. The first thing I did was check the shower to make sure the water was hot, and it was. I noticed the air felt the same as it did in my other room so I let them know on my way to breakfast. I came back and saw it hadn't changed. I told them again on my way to workout. Came back and same thing. When I went back, the attendant said the repairman closed out the ticket but she could send him back. The man came back to the room and you could tell he was pissed to be there. His tone was dismissive and after explaining what happened he said, "we fixed everything. You need to sit here for a while and you'll see." Oh ok, pal. I guess I'm a child now. I said thanks and he left. While the new room eventually got cooler, it was the principal and tone behind the matter. I wouldn't be raising a fuss if there wasn't merit behind my concern. If you're ok with mediocre service, this is the hotel for you. I won't be back. Update: 3/19/2026- I never got the points that they said they'd give me.

The Hanover Marriott is not up to the standard of other Marriott properties and should be downgraded to a Four Points by Sheraton at best or Holiday Inn. It fails to deliver in cleanliness, noise, and customer service. I stayed here for a work meeting and was provided a room not fully cleaned with a complimentary water half drunk. The walls are very thin and I could hear yelling from one side and another's white noise machine running until 2:30 am. The hotel's open entryway rises up to the 4th floor carrying sound to rooms on the 2-4th floors whose hallway overlooks the lobby, making you feel like you are sitting in the middle of all the noise. Any items delivered by DoorDash or Instacart, etc are left by hotel staff on a long table across the front desk creating an opportunity for food to be tampered with and other deliveries stolen, not to mention a cluttered eyesore in the lobby. Room furnishings are dated and staff is not always pleasant. Upon checking out the front desk person greeted me non-verbally by just pointing to the counter with his back turned to me signaling he'd help me at that desk rather than saying "good morning, are you checking out". I won't be staying here again for any work trips. This hotel needs much improvement before I'd ever consider this a standard Marriott property.

Great stay in this Marriott that is very centrally located in the town. Location is great and close to stores. Restaurants and shops are not far away. Service was excellent and very friendly. Rooms were clean. They have a nice coffee machine for free coffee, hot chocolate, etc., available in the morning. Two restaurants on property. The pub was really good. I will definitely stay again.

I have really come to like this hotel! As I am working in Jersey twice a month , it has become my home away from home! Right now it's so pretty as they have all the Fall flowers planted in the grounds! The staff are so nice and a participant thank you so Mercy who works in the concierge lounge in the evenings. She is so lovely and remembered that last visit I was flying cross coast to see my daughter in College and asked how she was! She is a lovely person and so helpful! And speaking of the lounge - it's great! Lots of healthy breakfast choices and raw veggies, small snacks and hummus for the evening! Rooms are comfortable, quiet and it's always great staying here!

Here for a 3 day stay to attend #LuciConNJ (the Netflix show Lucifer). The common areas are clean and fairly standard, except for the immense glass light fixture on the ceiling when you walk in. Very cool. The meeting rooms seem--well--like meeting rooms. Fairly plain, but clean and unobtrusive. The hotel restaurant/bar "The Auld Shebean" is cute and cozy. We were able to take our drinks out into the lobby, since it was also PACKED with Lucifans. Easily ordered DoorDash to the hotel at 8 PM, which was definitely a bonus!! We have a double on the 3rd floor. The room is well-appointed with clean tile floors, a huge smart tv, a safe, a pod coffee maker (have not seen coffee, but it may be hiding), and a small fridge. (No microwave?). A built-in desk, ergonomic desk chair, comfy sitting chair, and small table round out the room. There is a full length mirror on the wall, which seems fairly rare for hotel rooms. The alarm clock has usb plugs, and there are reading lights on the headboards. One set of small drawers and a closet are available. The bathroom is stocked with "This Works" products (shampoo, conditioner, and body wash attached to the wall, as well as bars of soap) that smell divine. Shower has glass doors and an adjustable rainfall shower head with separate sprayer. Fancy. The beds are SO comfortable, and come with 4 pillows each of varying firmness. Sheets are crisp cotton, and the blankets are both cool and warm, if that makes sense. Overall, it is a nice hotel at a decent price for the area.

Nice hotel. Clean, well maintained, awesome comfortable beds and pillows. I prefer a carpeted floor, they had wood floors but a few rugs around. My toes were cold lol. Nice clean bathroom and amenities. There is a breakfast lunch type restaurant, as well as a full service restaurant and bar inside. It's an Irish pub. Good location, other restaurants in the area.

Empty parking lot, zero demand, and about 20 bucks to park your vehicle.

The rooms were so cold that my guests had to wear their jackets the entire time. Their solution was to use several small space heaters throughout which didn't do anything to warm up the rooms and only managed to continuously trip the circuits and shut out the lights. Also, do not use their in house catering. I wish I knew the name of the caterer they used because they would deserve a review of their own. The penne vodka was so spiciy you could not eat it. Normally the pasta would be one of the first things to go so you know it was really bad - it was barely touched. How do you screw up the pasta? Thankfully I had ordered a couple of extra trays of food because there would not have been enough food otherwise. Not sure how they calculate their food portions or maybe Mike just needs to review my food order with the caterer to see what was ordered vs what was delivered. Because definitely something is off. No complaints about the staff. They just couldn't overcompensate for the bad experience.

Since then, we've worked with Michael on planning our wedding and he was so great to work with. He was easy to communicate with, super energetic and full of positive energy throughout the planning, and very informative. We wanted our dogs in the ceremony a lower guest minimum for fear that less people at the time would attend due to covid and Michael quickly accommodated our requests, no questions asked! Our wedding was 10/14/23 and Farrell was our maitre'd. After getting home, my matron of honor, brother in law and mom had nothing but AMAZING things to say about Farrell. According to my mom, Farrell saw my grandpa had trouble with his boutonniere and she, without us asking, started helping him and all the other groomsmen clip them on. She worked with my husband on getting a little last-minute seating mishap resolved (we had some unplanned guests who had initially rsvp'd no and showed up). She was so good with children as our flower girl and flower boy/ring bearer were 4 and 7 and she interacted with them and helped show them what to do at the ceremony. Our day of coordinator unfortunately had an emergency and was not there part of the wedding but Farrell really took over and checked in on us constantly and took charge of the day. My matron of honor said Farrell was so nice and reliable and amazing at her job. Going back to the wedding, our guests couldn't stop talking about how gorgeous the venue was, down to the chandeliers in the ballroom. Our wedding was unfortunately outdoors but Birchwood was so accommodating with allowing us to use the Grand Ballroom for the ceremony as the reception was already set up elsewhere. We upgraded the cocktail hour to deluxe and with both my husband and I being from Chinese families with high expectations in regards to seafood, the lobster tails were gone instantly as our guests loved them so much. People raved about how good the cocktail hour was, including the carving station and shrimp scampi station. The ice sculpture was a beautiful and elegant touch. All in all, we and our guests had nothing but an amazing time at Birchwood. We have nothing but positive experiences through our 2 years of wedding planning. Thank you Michael and Farrell and Birchwood Manor for helping us plan our wedding and make our wedding day visions really come to life!

The magician I wanted to hire was booked somewhere else and I only found out a few days before, but the balloon sculpture artist Mark recommended instead was an absolute hit with the kids as well as the adults, which was a pleasant surprise. He made my husband the most outrageous birthday hat. Right when he was supposed to be done, one of the kids tripped and popped his balloons and got upset, and he stayed longer to make him (and a few other stragglers) more balloons. Truly kind. When I returned, I was asked if I wanted a room on the ground floor, to which I replied that it did not matter. There wasn't any further conversation but I was then given keys to a room on the third floor. I did not attempt to use a digital key on this visit. This Hampton Inn appears to be physically connected to another Hilton property. After a quick look online, it appears the "Hilton" portion of the property is a level or two above the Hampton class of properties. Therefore, prices at the Hilton property are more expensive than those at the Hampton property. I think I must have been in an older section of the Hampton hotel. My room did not have a refrigerator and there were definite signs of major wear even though there appear to be attempts to make improvements. I honestly cannot remember the last time I stayed in any hotel that did not have a small refrigerator in the room. I ended up throwing out my leftover pizza because I could not keep it cold. The bathroom had significant signs of wear including rust on the ceiling and paint was peeling in several areas. The frame of the bathroom door was also rusting. Most of the USB ports and outlets on the furniture/lamps were too worn and did not charge my phone or computer.
