    Our Crest Pontoon

We looked at boats in Fresno and Bakersfield and had by far the best service and attention from Hans' the owner of Hans Boat Works. He had in his price included a custom boat trailer with an extra lower step. just overall a better trailer and rims compared to other places. The comfort of the cushions compared to the other Fresno and Bakersfiled boats was better for the same price. Hans also worked with us on the price and he gave us his cell phone number so that we could negotiate and ask questions. The last boat we bought over 25 years ago from Han's but was known as Eco Marine, but Hans sold us that boat and it's still a great boat. We are extremely excited and happy with our new boat!! Thanks Hans' and family

My family and I couldn't be any happier with the purchase experience at Hans' Boat Works.

It's been just a little over month now since I bought my first Ranger boat. Hans and his team were great to work with and strived to get me the best boat for my dollar. I went in knowing very little about boats and all of their options. Never in a million years did I believe I would own a boat as fine as a Ranger. Great customer service, extremely knowledgeable when it comes to outboard motors and his team did a heck of a job rearranging and then installing my electronics on the console and hull of the boat. When it was time to pick the boat up, Hans took my family and me out for a private lesson on the lake showing us all of the features and options on the boat and in the water! I know my boat will be in good hands with Hans and his team when it time for it's routine maintenance. Don't look anywhere else... just take my word for it and go to Hans' Boat Works. You'll be happy you did.

We had plans to go to the lake when I realized that the trim on my boat was malfunctioning.

After 6 weeks of silence and no updates, no responses to texts or calls, I had enough and decided to pick them up and take my business elsewhere. When I finally showed up to collect my jet skis, Jon had a long list of excuses. He even admitted that he had been working with his shop closed because so many other customers were calling, texting, or showing up looking for their boats and jet skis. That alone says a lot about how poorly things are being managed. It's incredibly unprofessional to make promises you can't keep and then ignore your customers. If you value communication, reliability, or basic customer service, I'd strongly recommend going somewhere else.

He removed the motor, fuel tanks and outdrive but never started repairs. He is famous for taking in small repairs that he can turn around quickly but always has money problems. I finally got my boat back with no repairs being done after giving him $3000 for a deposit. The floor is torn out, the motor, outdrive and everything else he removed was placed in the boat on a pallet. Many people have told me since that he is not trustworthy and if I can save 1 person the trouble and expense I went through then this post is worth it! be ware and use extreme caution if you want to use him... getting everything in writing proved worthless.

Just being able to talk with Mike and and learn more about what's best for our boat really allows me to know I will go nowhere else but to him for future Boat work and repair. 1 Star -- I would not recommend this shop…read more I found Mike at Clovis Boat & Trailer Repair through a recommendation in a Facebook boating group. Unfortunately, what started as a relatively simple starter replacement turned into three separate trips and more than $3,000 out of pocket, and my boat still wasn't running correctly when I finally took it somewhere else. My experience was as follows: 1. First visit: I brought the boat in for a starter replacement and oil change. I also asked about rebuilding/cleaning the carburetor because the boat wasn't idling properly. I was told they don't rebuild or clean carburetors. 2. Second visit: I brought it back for a new impeller and spark plugs, hoping the plugs might help with the idling issue. During this visit, the starter bolts were also broken. I was told the rear bracket supporting the starter "didn't need" to be there, so the bracket was removed. 3. Third visit: The boat overheated after the impeller replacement. I was later told that one of the mechanics had misaligned the belts. I needed a new manifold and an upper bellow, along with other parts. Mike told me, "We check the boats before they leave, and we may have let yours go before starting and testing." I appreciated that he acknowledged the possibility, but I was still left paying out of pocket for repairs resulting from the situation. Then the starter bolt broke again. Mike replaced the bolt, but when I got the boat home, I discovered that the distributor wiring harness was completely unplugged. I sent Mike a picture showing the disconnected harness. His response was essentially dismissive, and I didn't feel like there was much concern about the fact that the boat had apparently been returned to me without even being properly tested. I took the boat to the lake, and it wouldn't start. At that point, I took it to another mechanic. The difference was immediate. The new mechanic opened the engine bay and immediately identified several issues: -The starter was missing the rear support bracket, which he said was allowing excessive torque and contributing to the starter bolts breaking. -The timing was too far advanced. -Hoses from the carburetor were in the wrong location for breathing -The carburetor did not need to be rebuilt; it simply needed to be cleaned. -Most importantly, the engine had been overheated previously and the cylinder head had a crack that had not been identified. After the new mechanic addressed the issues, the boat idled perfectly and I have not had the recurring starter bolt problem. My biggest issue isn't that a repair shop can make a mistake. Mistakes happen. My issue is the apparent lack of quality control, final testing, and oversight of the work being performed. I was told the boat was being checked, yet I received it back with an unplugged distributor, recurring starter problems, timing issues, and ultimately a cracked head from the overheating incident from poor quality checks. Mike himself is a personable guy, and I have nothing against him personally. However, based on my experience, I don't feel comfortable recommending the shop. I also got the impression that less experienced workers were being allowed to work on my boat without adequate supervision. Whether that was his son or another employee, I can't say for certain, so I'm not going to make that claim as a fact. What I can say is that the quality of the work I received was not acceptable, especially considering the amount of money I spent. If you're considering using Clovis Boat & Trailer Repair, I strongly recommend getting a second opinion and making sure the boat is actually started, tested, and thoroughly inspected before accepting it back. For me, the additional expense, repeated trips, downtime, and ultimately having another mechanic diagnose and correct the problems made this a very frustrating and expensive experience.

We told him that we were interested in looking at a Yamaha Boat. He said it was in the other showroom and we took the club car down the street to their extended property. Didn't realize how many boats they had in stock. When it came to making the deal he was not pushy, got us extra discounts within reason and spoke to Jack (the owner) to see what else they can do to sweeten the deal. Jack was pleasant, probably stressed with how busy they were that day, but still took the time to work with us to get the price right for our purchase. When we came back the next week to pick up the boat they were very good in going over the entire boat and features as well as inspecting every angle. They include basic safety gear 4 life jackets and a throwable that you can exchange for credit if you already have gear. The workers hooked up the boat and trailer to our hitch and we were on our way. It gets busy here especially around 10-11am with people getting service for their boats. A lot of drop offs and pick ups. Definitely plan on coming early when they open. Customers come in stressed but Jason, Jack and staff stay cool and calm to help everyone with their needs. Thanks Pacific Marine Center for the great experience!

We put a $1,000 deposit on a boat while we went through the financing process and having a hard hit on our credit. We were in contact with them DAILY. We bought a year of insurance as the last act before giving the down payment and signing documents. We got a call that night stating they sold the boat from under us without even a phone call. They then told us the $1,000 was only good for 5 days (first time hearing that!) It was actually the 3rd business day as we had a holiday weekend. If this is how dishonest they are selling it, imagine what else they may be dishonest about behind the scenes! Jack's way to make things right was to offer more expensive boats.. The only boats the owner, Jack offered added more than $10k to the original price. Jack knew we were approved, They could care less we dinged our credit and most likely figured since we were approved; we could be easily forced into a more expensive boat! Jack "offered" two other boats that were way more money! ((Their only goal)) You've been warned.
