Inconsistent volume is frustrating but when busy there are lots of good singers. Only one bartender is actually aware of patrons and keeps drinks filled. When slower, she is at the gambling machines in back. Other bartender smokes outside and seems irritated to having to stop smoking with friends to come inside and pour a drink, then immediately goes back outside to smoke, checking back every 1/2 hour or so. Drinks are very heavy pour. Keep drinks basic. Don't order margaritas or Mai Tai's here. Most patrons order either beer or straight booze. No ambience, dirty counters, have never seen them cleaned, ever! Bathroom is the same. Nevertheless, will be continuing to come to Ohana, since it is the only bar close to where we live.

This venue has been a mainstay at Leeward Community College for years and the first time I've come here since I was a student back in the day. There's plenty of parking right in front of the theater. To get to the theater there is a huge staircase to walk down or the other option is an elevator in the next building over to the left of the theater, if you're facing the theater. There are signs with arrows and easy enough to find but it is a bit of a walk because you're walking almost the full length of the other building and once you're downstairs, then need to walk the same length back to the entrance. For kupuna with arthritis issues, this can be quite the challenge. The theater lobby has a beautiful painted mural upon entering. To get to you seat, once again, everything's stairs up, then down. Women's restroom, down a short flight of stairs. The knees were practically screaming from all the stairs. The theater seats are nicely laid out and space between each row is good where one can comfortably walk to your seat without having to squeeze thru. Both times I went, we had good seats. The first time was in G12/G13, about midway and the 2nd time was seats C30/31 closer, left stage. The theater does get cold as the performance progresses so good idea to bring a jacket/sweater. The play itself was great! There was a cast of about 30, some were students and some actors with previous experience. It was a good play for the whole family with the happy musical numbers, actor interaction with the audience, and comedy. Add to the fact it was done local style with pidgin. The only problem we had was you couldn't hear a lot of the cast members no matter which seat you were at because not all of them were wearing microphones. The main characters were but some of the supporting cast that had speaking lines, you couldn't hear at all. This made it very frustrating to hear the play. I had mentioned it to the gal at the box office when I went the 2nd time. Especially at the start of the play when the bufo were speaking to the audience. I couldn't hear them at row G. Row C was better but not by much. I can only imagine folks in the seats further up couldn't hear anything at all. Overall, enjoyable play. The LCC theater is a beautiful venue with the layout of the seats. The drawbacks are too many stairs to get to your seat and hard to hear this wonderful performance.

We hired Color Whims for our son's first birthday. We booked a package that included a live band,…read morelight MCing, face painting and balloons. We were in corespondence with Kelly who was helpful in getting us the package we needed. We also got a 10 percent discount from Yelp! Kelly was our point person and helped coordinate our timeline. She also was the laision with the band. Before the party, I sent her the script and timeline. On the day of the party, the band showed up to set up at 10a for our 11a party. They said they thought they started at 1030a. I said they started at 11:30 a.m. Kelly (Balloon artist) and face painter came onsite at just about 11a. One major disappointment I had was that the MC refused to facilitate our script. We thought it was farily light and simple, including directions to the bathroom, where the rubbish is, then calling up various people to help facilitate the program and games. Luckily, my sister in law stepped in and did the MCing. The quality of the balloons was excellent, as well as the face painting. The live band was REALLY good, loud, and brought excellent energy to the party. Everyone complimented us on the entertainment. Eddie, the band leader, brought us a screen and projector for our slideshow. It went off without a hitch. The band continued to play until after most of our guests left. Unfortunately when they took their break, most of our guests started leaving. In hindsight, I would have everyone sang happy birthday a little later so people stuck around to hear their second set. Also, I asked the face painter if we could make announcement that they would be closing in 15 minutes and she said no because people will line up for their face painting/balloon. I thought that was the point. But, oh well. Maybe people luckily got their face painted and balloon early. Overall, it was a little disorganized, but it came together and was a nice party.

Due to unforeseen circumstances, my original emcee had to cancel a few days prior to the event. I contacted David to ask about hiring an emcee and he offered to provide the emcee services at NO ADDITIONAL cost (Awesome)! On the day of the event, David arrived early with ample time to set up. I experienced technical difficulties when trying to set up my slide show, and David went out of his way to help me get the stressful situation resolved even though it was not his responsibility. The sound equipment he used was perfect for the event and I even received compliments from the bands that David did an excellent job providing sound for them.
