I visited Storybook Station in Spring 2025 based off a review on Facebook. Prior to that, I've only seen and interacted with Storybook Entertainment characters performing at various events on the island (examples: Christmas events at Royal Hawaiian Center, events at Wet N Wild, etc). There are 2 physical locations - Pearlridge and Windward Mall. My child's birthday was coming up, so I booked BOTH locations for a "Stay and Play" session. You can either call or book online for a session. A "Stay and Play" session starts off with choosing a costume. There are many options to choose from - unicorn, princess, mermaid, cheerleader, etc. After changing, your child is whisked off for a makeover which includes nail painting and face painting. How fun! Kids can have a little tea party with the Storybook staff (who are also dressed up), dance to the music, and/or have a photoshoot with the props. Although both locations have different props, they are both magical in their own right. I mean, check out my pictures. The colors, the lighting ... everything just adds to the ambiance and makes a very unique and unforgettable experience for the little ones. You won't regret bringing your kid(s) here. If you have a little girl who loves to be pampered and have a magical time, definitely recommend Storybook to host a party. My girls were invited to birthday party event and the kids had so much fun. They got to choose their costumes to wear, face painting that matched the costume, and their nails done. We did have to return the costumes but they were available for purchase. During the birthday party they had fun activities time, coloring, and story time. Truly a fun and magic experience. There were refreshment and little Hors d'Oeuvres kind of situation which was nice. A good way to let your kiddos enjoy while you can sit and take photos and videos to capture the moment. Was a fun experience and would recommend! read more

These are the sweetest ladies I've ever met to work with children I took my daughter here as a late birthday / Christmas gift and it was her second time and she absolutely loved it. Such a treat for children to see their favorite stories come to life. My kid loves princesses and dinosaurs and they made the perfect blend for her. Be aware the kids have such a great time that it can be hard to leave. The $20 package is great if your just at the mall and want to get face paint and nails done. My 4 year old daughter wanted to go to a "hair place" to get her makeup and hair done. I found storybook station on my walk through the mall. Located next to Macy's on the second floor, this store is Tucked away in the corner so you can easily miss it. I decided to purchase the session online to make sure there was a slot available. The process was easy to do on their website, so I went with a 30 min session, added two hair extensions and a unicorn headband. Read the agreement and signed off, noticing there was a request to be there 15 min before your appointment. I made sure to get there early and there was a party of people there before us. The lady at the front checked us in and said we could walk around the mall or wait till our appointment. We decided to wait on their couches at the front. My daughter wanted the mermaid make up and the one makeup artist there was patient, sweet, and great to explain what she was doin each step of the way. Once my daughter was done, the artist found her a mermaid top and tail to match. My daughter is on the small side of 4 but their smallest set fit her perfectly. I got a few pictures with the clam shell background and they had an automatic bubble machine to make it look so real. They had a nice halo light for great picture taking. Overall, my daughter had a blast. I was a little weary because make up its hard to keep completely sanitary without using individual small sample sets. The artist sanitized the sponge after each use but not between dips into the makeup. With COVID it's hard to have fun without some risk I guess. I wish there could be a more hygienic friendly way but I don't think that makeup style caters to individual one time use without being exorbitantly expensive. Thankfully my daughter showed no signs of any symptoms. read more

Best decision ever! Booked a session for my daughters 7th birthday. The ladies were so welcoming and you can tell they love what they do. They were very patient and before they did anything they would always ask my daughter what she wanted and gave her options of what she could pick. They were very creative and in between getting her all prettied up they entertained her and interacted with her through it all. The venue is very clean and it's like a Kids wonderland. Everything they love in one place. Great for pictures and a place just to relax and of course a place to bring your the kids in you out and play with your child. It's not only for girls but there was little boys there also. They allowed us to watch and hang out also. Just don't forget to take your footware off! I am beyond happy with our experience! Casey was able to accommodate my request for an Elsa to come to my daughters 5th birthday party with less than a 2-week notice. Lucy (who came as Elsa) was AMAZING! She showed up on time with great communication prior to her arrival. She looked just like Elsa too! All the kids gravitated towards her. She was so sweet, friendly and always smiling. She also played a few interactive games with them and sang happy birthday with us. She especially made sure to make my daughter feel SO SPECIAL! She gave her a special crown, lots of hugs and even sat next to her while she enjoyed her birthday cake. My daughter cried her heart out when Elsa had to leave. I booked the 1hr makeover for my daughter for her 5th birthday and we brought a friend along. The girls loved the costumes to choose from, decor of the store, and makeover! They danced around when the makeup lover was done, had a tea party with the mermaid, and we took tons of cute pictures. They also loved hoping around on the flower pillows. I've been a longtime fan of Storybook Entertainment and I'm so happy to have a physical location to visit now! Ok so rewind, here are some helpful deets: -located in Windward Mall, 2nd level, right next to Macy's -best way up are the escalators in the middle of the mall by Starbucks/eatery -Make ressies beforehand as they book up! Like for makeovers they only have 2 spots available per time slot -They do these activities: -Party rentals with characters and activities too! Even food and drinks -Makeovers currently available Friday-Sunday -Tea time with Princesses (*squeeeal*) -They even have Princess specific activities for the littles like Hula with Moana, crafting with Cinderella, frozen treats with Anna and Elsa -Coffee station available for the parents -Temp checks and masks = safe environment -Take your shoes off at the entrance -Super clean (and pretty!) bathroom facilities We made an appointment for 3, 30 minute Mermaid makeovers. It was easy to book online at their website and you get an email confirmation after you pay. Right now kids can choose between mermaid or fairy makeovers. The clamshell throne with gorgeous mermaid was hard to resist so we opted for mermaids. I feel like fairy wings would be equally magical though! The whole time our mermaid friends were so friendly and amazing with kids. They interacted with them, read a book to them, and just made sure they were having a good time. I didn't even mind waiting since it was so fun to watch them in actions. The face painting was legit and both artists were very skilled. They took my daughters' preferences into consideration and just made them feel really special. Then they were allowed to pick their outfits from a closer full of beautiful clothes. After being made up, we had plenty of time to take photos everywhere and we were never rushed. Overall super fun experience! We all can't wait to go back again! read more

We wanted to surprise our daughter with Mirabel for her birthday party since it was Encanto themed. Let me tell you that this company is amazing!! We got the pleasure to have Ke'ale as Mirabel and from when she first got there, we were so happy with how interactive she was. The kids loved following her around the party to play games, talk story, and just hang out with Mirabel! Ke'ale was very patient with all the little ones even though some of them were very hyperactive lol. Our daughter loved every minute of it and we can't wait to meet more characters in the future!! Talk about stepping into the perfect princess/magical world! Such a cute and well-thought out place that's much needed for the keiki to enjoy! We took our daughter as a special surprise (and to give her girly time away from hanging with her little brother) and immediately she was being pampered on! If you want the ULTIMATE fantasy princess experience for your little one, you have to book your party AT Storybook Station!!! My daughter wanted Dolores from Encanto for her "hostess" and she did not disappoint. My daughter was fully convinced that she met the "real" Dolores. She was a true professional and stayed in character the entire time and would walk around and entertain and talk to all of the kids. All of the staff was amazing and worked so well with the kids. We recently invited Princess Anna to my daughter's 3rd birthday party and she was wonderful! A true princess. She arrived right on time and called ahead for any special parking instructions. As soon as she entered the party, she figured out which one was my daughter, gave her a hug and talked to her.
