For example, there's somebody on here who wanted to be put on pain meds. I was referred to this doctor by a friend of mine, whose mother has dementia. From my first meeting with her, she sat and took her time and listened to me, very personable and down to earth. They refused to make an appointment until I got a hearing test. Even though I had an appointment the following week to get a hearing test, that was not good enough. They said call them after I got the test. I got the test and there was no problem with my hearing. I was told my hearing was better than half the 4 year olds they see and they would submit the paperwork immediately to the doctor. I called the doctor's office as soon as I got home from the hearing center, spoke to someone who said they didn't get anything from the hearing center. I expressed again the urgency as I have had problems sleeping and working due to this noise in my left ear. I didn't hear back. I verified with the hearing center that the records were sent to my doctor. Called again, spoke to someone named Mayana who wouldn't let me finish, cut me off, put me on hold and left me there for 15 minutes. I hung up and called back, was on hold again for another 15 minutes, got Mayana again. I asked to speak to an office manager, Mayan became very rude and hung up on me. I did hear from the office manager who was just as awful and basically accused me of lying about getting the hearing test, refused to schedule the appointment. Claimed "I can't just take your word for it" because the hearing center had yet to fax the results of my test. Nevermind that she spoke to the hearing center who informed them that I took the test. My best friend even called from New Jersey because she couldn't believe they were refusing to schedule an appointment when I was having such severe and disruptive health issues. They refused to let her schedule the appointment on my behalf. Later that day, I received a letter from Dr. Huang in Sutter's MY HEALTH accusing me of using foul language and threatening to not see me. I never used foul language. This is a flat out lie. I never used one word of profanity. There is seriously something wrong with the people who work here where they would concoct a fake story like this. I plan on filing a grievance with Sutter. Unacceptable. I decided to consult my insurance and find another ENT. Made an appointment and was told to send the results of my test before my appointment. No insults or rudeness. Easy peasy. Maybe Dr. Huang is good at what she does but the administration is rude and unsympathetic and I would never go to a place where this type of behavior is condoned.

Another time I went to see him for a terrible sinus infection, it was to such a degree that i thought I may have to go to the emergency room. I called for an immediate appointment with Dr. Carlston, and they were able to fit me in that day. He gave me a remedy that started working within 45 minutes. I could feel my sinuses clearing. My son had been…read moresick with digestive problems for years; he was even hospitalized for this issue several times. I can't tell you how many weeks of school he missed with symptoms of naseau, headache, and dizziness. This would not allow him to even get out of bed. We belong to Kaiser and they had been treating the problem for many years but to no avail. We were desperate and got a recomendation from a friend to see Dr. Carlston. My friend said, "He will solve your kids problem." I was of course skeptical because my son had zero sucess in the past and he seemed to be getting more ill. The day we saw Dr. Carlston, he spent at least 2 hours with us. He was so thorough and we felt like it was worth every penny we spent outside of our insurance plan. Something amazing happened after his appointment, Mason (my son) started to get well. Then, he felt so good that it seemed as though he was a different child. It brings tears to my eyes!! Dr. Carlston was the only one that discovered my son had a milk and dairy allergy. Between stopping all dairy and placing him on Dr. Carlston's special vitamins, he is a very healthy and happy child. Dr. Carlston is a life saver!!! Most people I talk to that are current patients of his say to me that Dr. Carlston usually solves things in one visit. He's a genius! Dr. Liu is an old school…read moredoctor who gives each patient all the time in the world, makes careful notes and when push comes to shove gets you the medication that will help you the most. Her office manager is exemplary and helped expediently put through an order for migraine medicine when I needed it most to be able to get up every day to care for my husband after knee surgery. Their response was fast, courteous and professional. Yes, the office location is in an older building in need of upgrades, but if you can get past the shabbiness, this is an excellent primary care option.
