I don't often do reviews unless I've just had an amazing experience with someone, so that's why I'm doing this review. Our a/c went down twice this summer (most recently in August) and we have a home warranty. The first time we had an issue, we got referred to another company and we were less than excited, but this time we were referred to Hansen. They have been amazing! We ended up needing a new a/c. They were able to get us scheduled and have bent over backwards to make sure that we get up and running ASAP once the a/c is released by the home warranty company. When having a home warranty, we've run into other companies who have treated us like second-class citizens because they don't like dealing with it, but Hansen has given us first class service and has been very flexible in getting us scheduled around our busy work schedules and their busy August schedules. This company is very rude and tries to intimidate customers by sending inappropriate text messages if you cancel any service with them. See the message I received.... There is no good morning, good afternoon not even a Hello. They just in on the customer I have attached the text I received. "In the future please make sure you notify the contractor regarding any cancellations. You noted to AHS we had a lot of bad reviews but we have a 3.9 stars out of almost 300 reviews and we are a VIP contractor with the home warranty and have been for many years. I don't usually write reviews, but my experience with this company warranted the post. On the date of the install, the technician told me a part was missing. I called the office to discuss the matter and seek a resolution. Instead of a call, I received a text message providing a cryptic update regarding my equipment. I politely asked the office manager to call me when she could. She stated she was out so her text would have to do. She texted she was working on a solution and calling me would wasted her time. She later called me and explained she was working to order the part out of state. She stated it was my home warranty company that didn't order the part. I stated mistakes happen, but Im not comfortable installing a unit with a missing part. I also stated this is why I wanted to talk about the matter, rather than text, to get a full understanding about the missing part and its impact on the installation. She flipped. She explained I cannot demand she call me, she is a grown-a$$ woman, and she will not be berated by a customer. I told her to calm down and that she needed to revisit her tone. She told me she would pull the guys off the install, and that she did. She hung up in my face. She called back and I told her not to ever call me and hang up in my face again. If she lacks that much emotional maturity, don't call again. She said she was pulling the guys and good look trying to get a replacement air conditioner, and hung up again. The guys removed what they installed leaving exposed wires hanging from my home. I have pictures. She contacted my home warranty company and told them I was threatening her and demanded a phone call. I have the texts. I was never demanding or rude. She was rude. Do not do business with this company. The office manager is a poor reflection on this company. The technicians were professional, but she was not. I am now waiting for another company to complete the work she declined to complete because she did not want to hear feedback. If I could give this company a 0-star review, I would. At my home, the technician was fine. But his communications when I started asking questions via text were incredibly condescending. They assumed that I was going to just pay the fee and get it over with and told my home warranty company that the fees were approved by me and the service was complete, even though it was not. When I asked if they could send me an invoice that included the line items being billed to my home warranty, they said that it wasn't possible and that made everything they said afterwards seem VERY shady. My Home Warranty Company (AHS) sent them, and after reading reviews I requested a second opinion - because they also wanted to charge me $1,650 on top of my service fees. A new company was sent out, same diagnosis so they reverted the service to the original company (Hansen). When I messaged Hansen saying that we were ready to move forward, they told me that they could not fulfill the service because I had given them a 1-star review to my home warranty company. Wish I'd checked the reviews before working with Hansen Mechanical -- they're all spot on. The technicians who came to our home seemed fine, but the company's communication afterward was shockingly unprofessional. When I reached out politely about an issue that came up right after the repair, they got defensive, sent rude messages (even to my husband, who hadn't contacted them), and then canceled our follow-up appointment entirely. I've never dealt with a business that handled customer concerns this poorly. They don't seem to take pride in their work or care about their customers. If you have a home warranty and this is the company they are sending out when your HVAC system goes down, DO NOT let this company come out and do the work. The craftsman ship is terrible. Things were left loose and some items were not put back correctly. They are taking advantage of customers on their pricing when it comes to PVC usage, copper, sheet metal work etc. On top of all this, the system was not installed correctly and does not function properly. My experience was absolutely horrible. I had to have the home warranty company send someone else. they gave me the option to use Venmo for payment and once the money was sent, completely changed everything. she tried to keep my money and take me off the schedule because I paid through Venmo as a purchase. It's not my fault if you use your personal account for business transaction. this could have been handled simple but instead she was texting me very rude, very unprofessional and I have never dealt with a company like this before. Hansen Mech treated me very unprofessionally. I believe they are only in business because they have contracts with some home warranty companies. They wouldn't talk to me over the phone, they wouldn't send me a quote of the work to be performed, wouldn't tell me what furnace they were going to install, they misdiagnosed the issue. Communication was through short vague texts. I did however receive a bill for the work not covered under warranty after 5 requests. They recommended a new furnace and wanted to charge me $500 for hooking up to a gas line (there was an existing gas line hooked up to the old furnace). Essentially this is to unscrew the gas line from the old furnace and screw it on the new furnace. In addition to a $300 to hook up a PVC drain line (also installed on the old furnace). Plus a few other charges. After I asked a few questions (via text because they won't answer the phone) they dropped me as a customer. read more

Hanson Mechanical was assigned through my home warranty. I waited 3 days for an appointment, which was fine. The tech said we needed a new A/C unit and it would take about a week. Later, I got a text saying the warranty wouldn't cover it because the unit was "hit by a lawnmower." Claiming that My husband, who met the tech, told them it was, which was completely a lie. I told them I'd be calling someone else. I contacted a trusted local HVAC tech and mentioned Hanson Mechanical. His response? "Yeah, I've dealt with them before," and that was all I needed to hear. Turns out we didn't need a new unit at all--just a repair, which cost way less than the $4,200 Hanson quoted. Very disappointed in the dishonest experience. read more

I see I've received poor service like everyone else. Bottom line after $1700 (my portion) and the warranty company covering parts the house is still not completely cooling. A condenser/condenser coil were replaced and the unit is operating the same. Initially they stated spray of the unit and use a new filter. Second visit they state I need the above fixed. Which one is it??? The office manager is rude and must not realize if you don't have customers you're company will fail. Poor attitude and disposition. I have reported her behavior to my warranty co. Hansen Mechanical came out at the end of July 2020 to fix my air conditioner. The representative told me I had a leak, and that he filled up my air conditioner with freon and stop leak. He said that the stop leak would stop any leaks my system had. Well, all of the freon ran out of my air conditioner. AHS called Hansen Mechanical and asked them to come back and fix the problem in October. The bill was $920.00 to add some plenum work. Hansen Mechanical said that whenever I was ready to set up the work, let them know. I talked to AHS about it and asked if I needed to do it right then since it was winter, and they said no. It would be on file since it was a problem that needed to be dealt with, plus it was a rework. I was like great. So I emailed Hansen this morning via email and said that I was ready to get the work done and I would pay the money in cash. They emailed me back and said I need a new work order and that I still had the $320.00 credit. I contacted AHS and told them and they said would send over a new work order. The representatives said he sent over a new.work order. I was like ok. He said he left a message with them and they would call me back. I said ok. While on the phone with AHS, Kim from Hansen called me screaming that I needed a new work order. I said I was on the phone with the representative and that he just sent a new one over. She says no, it's the old work order....but AHS said it was a new one. I said, hey, don't get an attitude with me and she hung up on me. Then I sent correspondence to the company and she answered and continued to be rude and belligerent. She commented how they would never ever do work for me again, and that she wouldn't refund my money. Just a complete mess. Never, ever use this company. They don't stand behind their work. My home warranty company referred me to this company. Despite having a $2,000 copay, they insisted on receiving the entire amount upfront before the work commenced. I explained that I had never encountered such a requirement and offered to pay half in advance and the remaining half upon completion. However, the lady I spoke to was dismissive, repeatedly interrupting me, and insisted that this was their standard procedure due to being a small business. During our conversation, her tone was extremely sarcastic and unprofessional. I informed her that I would call back during my break at 1:30, but when I called at 1:50, she rudely pointed out the time difference. As I tried to find peace by praying, she abruptly told me to stop and hung up, subsequently canceling my service. Then telling the warranty company I was going to dispute charges with my bank after the furnace was installed. "Let God be true and everyman a liar" Hansen Mechanical tells lies. They can not stay in business like that. Shame on them. I am glad God removed us from doing business with this company. This level of service is unacceptable, and I sincerely hope and pray that she finds a way to overcome whatever is causing her to treat people in such a disrespectful manner. Hansen mechanical came out to replace an AC that was covered under my home warranty. Not only did the ly replace the AC they moved its location from one side of the house to another. There was extra cost involved in moving it that came out of pocket. They were willing to move it. Quote to move the unit was very reasonable. Paul, Mason, and Carlos were all super easy to work with and very professional. They did a great job cleaning up after themselves and keeping me updated on the status of the install. Took them about 5 hours for a new AC unit and to move it. read more

DO NOT USE. I was assigned this contractor through my home warranty company. First, they lied to me about what the service contract included and said they couldn't check my A/C refrigerant level, which is in the contract. Then they berated me via text message, typed in all caps at me, and told me they would cancel the request. Then followed up and told me they would blacklist me from future service calls. Only to call the actual warranty company to find out, they refrigerant check is part of the contract. I told them that I was going to report them and they said the conversations are already monitored, which I thought was great until I contacted the home warranty company and found out that is also NOT true. I didn't think they had a reason to lie or be shady until I read the other Yelp reviews and realized IT LOOKS LIKE A LOT OF PEOPLE HAVE A POOR EXPERIENCE WITH THEM. After having them switch out my unit, my aprilaire humidifier is showing E3 code, which is the outside temperature sensor. Now they are putting it back on me like I had to notify them that I have an outdoor temperature sensor. I am an uneducated homeowner that did not know the difference and they don't want to take up responsibility for it. read more

They were out on Friday 10/16 the techs themselves had no clue they had to call in to get advice over the phone as they weren't sure what was wrong. Finally said control board or flame sensor. Decided to only Order one part first and was told they would be calling first thing Monday with an update. It is now 1:17 on 10/19 and I have yet to hear from them nor will they answer my calls or return them. We used them through our home warranty and replaced our entire Hvac system, which granted they are contracted however we had our system go out within 5 months and when we called multiple times and emailed no one ever got back to us. Since then we have had to spend almost $1000.00 to have the issues corrected due to incorrect installation including a pipe that caused our brand new furnace to fill with water. I really liked the "family" business aspect and expected a great experience, unfortunately it has been a year and I have yet to receive any response from them. I wish there was a negative star option. Pretty much my experience with them was the exact same as the dozens of other cutomers. If your home warranty company assigns them to your issue call them immediately and ask for a different company. Once they make the appt you're stuck with them. I would go into detail but you have dozens of other reviews saying the exact same thing. Kim is absolutely ridiculous and I cannot fathom why American Home Shield would continue to be contracted with someone like Hansen Electrical because this company is a really bad look for the warranty company. Basically I had the exact same experience with Kim but thankfully a reliable and actually professional local company agreed to match my cash out option plus the out of pocket amount Hansen was trying to force me to pay over and above where half of the things didn't even need to be done. Instead of waiting a week in 90 degree temps and having to deal with her and the company I am sitting comfortable in my air conditioned home. I mean I will say Kim really goes out of her way. Problem is she goes out of her way to be rude and play games with customers in need and that's icky. It's strange to me how hard she works at being this way, but I guess until the warranty company ends their contract she will be allowed to continue on unchecked. If you do end up with the misfortune of having this company sent to your home and have to deal with Kim I would make sure to check with your local city hall. I discovered they didn't hold a business license in my city and so they shouldn't have been doing any work at all and when I asked about it Kim began to threaten me via text message. Thankfully a local company who doesn't need a contract with a warranty place and has plenty of business and all 5 star reviews due to their excellent service and professional business model came to the rescue. I had a new heater installed by Hansen via my home warranty company in February, 2021. The unit broke by March, 2021. The warranty company sent a different HVAC company to my house that stated the unit was improperly installed because the technician failed to put a proper amount of space between the air handler and the duct work, which is clearly stated in the Lennox installation manual. Hansen Mechanical was called to come back to my house from the warranty company after the first different HVAC company looked at it, placed the blame for the broken heater on them for touching it (it was literally broken before the other HVAC company laid eyes on it), and told the warranty company that they refuse to come back to my house. The warranty company sent out two additional HVAC companies and both of them also said the unit was improperly installed and highlighted the exact instructions of the Lennox installation guide which Hansen did not abide to. read more

In the morning of day 1, We called Hansen to come fix our heater. Outside temp was subzero. They scheduled a visit to our house in the afternoon of day 2. Later in the morning of day 1, the inside temp at our house was around 35 even with three space heaters. We reached out to Hansen again to ask if an earlier visit time was available. Rocky was AH-MAZING to work with. He went out of his way to fix our air conditioner when the problem was being a bit elusive. When service is your product, good service is especially important and Hansen Mechanical's Rocky delivered that. Rocky himself gets 5+ stars. I took away one star because I it took on the average of three days to receive a return phone call from dispatch every time I called. I realize it's summer and you're very busy. Alex and Paul came out on a factory recall on a furnace installed by someone else. I had a problem come up 2 days before this with my a c. which I didn't ask them about till they were here that day.
