I would give zero stars if possible. I contacted the office for a consultation and was assured the treatment was covered by insurance. Each visit involved a less than 5 minute treatment with a $60 copay, which seemed pricey, but the location was convenient, so I continued. A month after completing my sessions, Jamie from the front desk informed me that she just changed my insurance EOB, and my copay was not applicable to the office and deductible. Now, I'm being billed an unreasonable and exorbitant amount for treatments that lasted less than five minutes each! How could you change insruance EOB after 10 continuous visits? Why don't you tell me at the first visit????? How could you lie to you customer it's in network but it's not? It's very, very, very unprofessional. Be careful beofre visiting!!!!!!!!!!! read more

I think I'll just add that since someone purporting to be Dr. Hanson himself, and another "patient" both joined yelp in the last 2 days and both private messaged me with their "defense" arguments that I'm glad I found a different clinic for my treatment. The "patient" who messaged me did at least take my advice and write a "review" (It's pretty much a copy/paste of her message to me, and clearly shows she didn't understand my review at all) Again, I don't doubt his educational credentials. It was everything ELSE and I don't think I'd trust any where if I'm pressured by 3 separate people to call one specific attorney. Just because you may see a lot of people as a result of car accidents does *not* make Personal injury law or insurance company "tactics" your specialty and should *not* be a focus of what happens in your office. I was involved in an auto accident and was recommended to Dr. Hanson's office by Puget Sound Providers. I have been getting treatment for the past 3 weeks and I was a skeptic at first. My experience started with a call from this company called "Healing Starts Now". They say, "Hey we see you were just in an accident recently. Are you feeling any pain. You know that it can take weeks before you start to have symptoms." I replied, I feel fine. After several repeat calls I agreed to meet for a free consultation with one of their "specialists". After researching this company I was surprised when I'm put in touch with Hanson Chiropractic. I talked with Dr Hanson and he said this is a company that simply picks a doctor in the area where you are and sends you to them. He is not associated with Healing Starts Now and frankly is not happy with their high pressure tactics as it then causes people to have a negative attitude toward his office when they get there. I was overwhelmed by the amount of paperwork I had to fill out when I arrived seeing this was my first visit and I was coming for a free screening. After talking with Dr Hanson he said he was changing his initial consult sheet to only ask for some basic information and a description of why you were there. Only after you decide to receive treatment would he need all the formal documents for legal reasons. He also agree to get some feedback on how you were referred to the client to ensure you didn't have the same negative experience I had with Healing Starts Now. The consultation went fine and I heard what I expected given I was in an accident. Dr Hanson said he wanted to take an X-Ray to see what was going on under the skin. I agreed to the X-Ray since Dr Hanson was going to cover the costs associated with it. So far I have not received a bill for this so he has been true to his word. I was scheduled the next day for a follow up to review my X-Ray. Dr Hanson pointed out a few things he said needed fixing. I agreed that was probably true, but I wanted to check with my auto insurance and health insurance to ensure I wouldn't have any issues paying for any charges resulting from his treatment as I had preexisting back conditions that were being treated by my regular doctor. Dr Hanson said he didn't see any issues, but I wanted to check anyway. He was fine with that and we moved on. At no time did I feel pressured to start any treatment I wasn't comfortable with. Lastly, I am not a huge fan of having a treatment area right as you walk into the office, it is a bit unnerving to me. I know for myself I don't want to be worked on while a bunch of strangers stare at me. After talking with Dr Hanson he informed me that I could use a private office if I felt uncomfortable with the open concept arrangements. read more

First, I want to say that all the negative reviews are NOT for chiropractic treatment. They are unfortunately for the auxiliary services that are offered in office, such as massage, body wrap or x-rays. I've been going to Dr. Hanson for years and I wouldn't trust any other doctor. He's a nice and polite gentlemen with years of experience. I've always felt comfortable around the office and you can tell he works hard for his patients. You can question the chiropractor practice in general or the add-ons at the office, but it's hard to question the help with neck and back pain he's given countless people over the years. I went in because I have hashimoto's disease because I received a call from Doc. Hanson asking me if I'd like to come in for a free consultation. This was apparently after I responded to an add. Dr. Hanson stated that he was a protégé of Dr. Datis Kharrazian. An author of a book on hashimoto's. I agreed to come in. After I signed my paperwork and had my "free consultation" some x-rays were taken. Now I had already made my decision to not come back because it was going to cost me six grand for the treatment. This was because my insurance would not cover the treatment. According to him my insurance wasn't very good anyway. Why would I want to continue? Anyway...a few weeks later I get a bill for somewhere around $300 bucks. Okay, so I went down and asked him about it. He stated that the moment I had x rays done I was charged and it was no longer a free consultation. Ohhhhhhhh my bad. It must have been in all that paperwork I signed, because no one told me. I went years ago for about 10 visits, aiming to rid myself of low back pain. It went away without my noticing it was gone in the course of treatment. I still can't remember exactly when it was gone. After that, I continued for some more treatments with "Dr. Dan" and found that my physical coordination and ability to sense and control my body had improved. In my 50's at the time, I noticed this when at work I had a full cup of coffee in my hand and someone flung open a door that hit my hand. I did not spill a drop. It was like seeing the whole event in slow motion, with a graceful response like a dance routine. I recommend this chiropractor, even if my own views are limited on chiropractic as a disease treatment, the fact he is such a good skilled practitioner, plus he has the neurology background, it is worth it to get the skills adjustment his services seem to offer to those not in too serious bad shape. I have been in care here for over a year and have had only positive experiences. Both in the chiropractic care Dr. Hanson provides and with office services of their friendly front desk staff. Wait times have been 15 minutes at the most and charges reasonable. Good stuff! I also appreciate the little touches the office staff do in acknowledgment of the passing seasons decorating here and there. My story in coming to Dr. Hanson comes in a bit of unique round about way. A year ago my wife and I began driving down to the San Francisco area once a month to visit our new super cute grandson. We do the drive in one long 15 hour session. After the second trip down my right side from my neck down to my foot were so tight and painful that walking and sitting in our car was next to impossible. I was stuck couldn't fly or drive home too much pain. A block from were we stay was the office of a Neurolink Chiropractor (Dr. Quarneri) I knew very little about chiropractic care or how different docs practice it but he was close by and I was in great need. I was very lucky to have the right doctor at just the right time and place. Over the next three weeks I was put back together enough to drive home! So back in the Tukwila area again I needed someone who practices chiropractic care with the additional neurological training (Neurolink) as I received in California. I searched and found that Doctor Hanson also received his degree from the same school as Doctor Quarneri and not only this but they knew of each other at school! So before each drive I get an adjustment from Dr. Hanson and drive comfortably to San Francisco area then its Dr. Quarneri's turn for the return trip home (sort of a tag team approach of two great doctors). read more

Undecided on whether I will pursue or continue any treatment,I can't put my finger on it, but something just didn't feel right. He did initial exam and x-rays andI returned the following day to see what the Xrays had to say and what he'd give as a treatment plan. I knew I'd be told I needed something and my spine was crazy bad...I'd figured out anyone who even so much as walks past the office is going to be told that. I was surprised, however, when his "minimum" plan for me was: 96 adjustments PLUS some thing called "traction therapy" and at least three other things that went right over my head. I had the identical experience as Riss J. so I am going to copy and paste her statement here: He then also began an immediate adjustment/treatment/something with some jackhammer of a tool WITHOUT my consent or even telling me he was about to begin! It felt like an industrial sized vibrator. The staff gave a super hard-sell on scheduling all 10 weeks of future appointments right on the spot and scheduled me with their massage therapist friend (her office is next door), again without giving me the opportunity to decline, seek my own or even decide my own schedule. I'm sure he is a fine Doctor. He is nice, but he is also so completely convinced *his* way is the *only* way and *his* plans/ideas are superior to everything that he didn't at all treat me with respect, dignity or allow me the grace to show I am, indeed, intelligent enough to know my body, make decisions about my body and follow up as I see fit. If you have had a car accident, or possible brain injury, Dr. Hanson is someone to see. I'm struggling with balance/depth of perception issues, amongst other neurological problems. He was able to determine what part of my brain was injured. He was SPOT ON. Brain scan came back with the exact locations of injury Dr. Hanson had determined. I was in a car accident and knew I needed to get in soon. I was stressed about what to do with my 4 kids and how to deal with a PiP claim and such. When I called in they made it extremely easy for me and even told me to bring the kids. Upon arrival they were super welcoming to the kids and had quite a few toys for them to play. I have been able to go to all my appointments with 4 kids in tow. I love the open tables and Dr. Hanson is amazing in listening to what hurts and need attention. They are an efficient business which is a huge relief because this tired momma doesn't have to brain power to figure everything out! One thing that really impresses me about Dr. Hanson, is that he has taken the time to educate himself beyond the typical chiropractor "requirements" in our state. He holds an additional Advanced Neurological degree and understands the complexity of the nervous system and brain, so well, enough that it is evident in his treatment and healing of the body. I have been a patient of Dr. Hanson's for a little over a year and originally found him through research I was doing on ways to help my thyroid "naturally". I had many other problems with digestion, anxiety, depression, and lethargy as well and had seen 4 different medical doctors and had $4000 worth of tests. Their diagnosis was nothing was wrong with me....that they could see. I have had back problems all of my life and it was no surprise I had quite a few areas totally out of whack. Let me tell you once we started the adjustments so many of the other things like anxiety and feeling like I was being suffocated slowly went away. This was due to a few ribs and my shoulder blade out of place. Dr. Hanson also worked very closely with me to put together a diet plan (eliminating all gluten, dairy, sugar), detox plan including energetix supplements, and listened when I would ask lots and lots of questions. I think if you go in expecting a "miracle" you will be disappointed. It takes your own persistence, your own research, your own attunement with your body, and clearly expressing your opinion and concerns. NO one knows your body better than you. Just to be clear, I did not take the full treatment plan he suggested (it was just way too expensive) but I did commit to 4 months of regular adjustments and traction to see a change. It worked wonderfully and now I go about once a month for a fine tuning or when I feel like something is out of place after working out. I have found the office staff very good, courteous, knowledgeable, and responsive when you treat them with respect. I have also seen the massage therapist and she is AWESOME! She really understands the human body and how to reduce both pain and inflammation. I feel so confident in Dr. Hanson's ability I am now taking my two children (8 and 10yrs old) for a few adjustments. Chiropractic skeptics take note - this works! I was injured in an auto accident and referred to the Dr. nearest to me by my attorney who provided several choices. New to the area and not wanting to be 'taken advantage' let alone having spent time in the healthcare profession I have developed a keen eye for BS. The actual science outweighs crap let alone the physical relief I have experienced. Dr. Hanson is personable as is his staff. They took Xrays. I viewed them and asked several questions which he took time to explain including regarding a long ago injury which was viewable on the Xray slides. My adjustments with my follow-up exercises are markedly improving my pains in just a week. The only concern I have is continuing at the current pace given work commitments; I only wish they were open for a bit on the weekend to be more conducive for scheduling! Otherwise, consider this a ringing endorsement as neither have they tried nor have I seen any 'woo woo' healthcare to other 'sales' as previous chiropractors I have experienced in other areas. Dr. Dan Hanson has been a lifesaver for me. I moved to Seattle 3 1/2 years ago and was already a fan of chiropractic care as part of my overall health and wellness lifestyle. I made finding a new chiropractor a top priority within the first few weeks of living here. I was pretty spoiled by the amazing care I had been given through the "healing" protocol I'd received from my chiropractor in Dallas. I was worried that I might not be so lucky in finding a solid replacement in Seattle. But I was VERY lucky to find Dr. Hanson in Redmond. After the stress of the move, many of my old issues from prior injuries resurfaced and I was in debilitating pain. I couldn't sleep and I had chronic headaches. I called Hanson's office and conducted a preliminary interview with the front desk to first determine if he met some very important criteria for me. The answers were sufficient and I made an appointment. I know I walked in the door with a multitude of issues and I was NOT an easy case to solve. I hurt all over and was a twisted and complete mess from multiple injuries and car accidents. But from my first visit, I found Dr. Hanson to be a very patient and compassionate listener. He sincerely cared about my well-being and worked with me to create the right protocol to get me out of the chronic pain and misery I was in. The before and after x-rays showed tremendous progress in aligning my neck and back and straightening my twisted spine. I was amazed and relieved, but also touched by his genuine desire to help me.
