The severs here never offered to refill my drink or switch the pan. Only checked on us three times during the whole time and our waitress gave us a dirty look they also didn't adjust the heat at all so it was constantly burning. They also couldn't follow simple instructions when we were paying. It might be because we're teenagers but they should still treat us with respect that's why u only got a $5 tip

Great food and amazing service. Joel made us feel welcome and was knowledgeable about allergens. I have food allergies which were accommodated. Clean and spacious restaurant. Definitely will go again

I don't know how this place is not packed. It's way more roomy than other Korean Bbq places. The meat is amazing and the servers are quick. Sides are bomb also. Definitely coming back.

Came to Hank for the first time this past weekend. Had a great time there. Music was great, service was amazing, and food was delicious! I want to give a special shoutout to our server Justin who was a great energy and we appreciated his recommendations. Will definitely return.

The restaurant is located in a shopping center with plenty of parking. As soon as you walk in, you're greeted and given an estimated wait time. The place has a large seating capacity, including outdoor seating. We ordered the marinated chicken, beef bulgogi, and beef brisket. For sides, we got a bowl of rice, kimchi, fish cakes, thin rice wraps, and pickled cucumber. They also have a drink menu with plenty of options. We ordered a strawberry lemonade, and they even made me an iced tea with strawberry syrup added. Overall, the service was friendly and efficient. We were checked on multiple times, and the staff made sure we had everything we needed. Would definitely go back and would recommend this place to others.

Fast service, very clean and knowledgeable staff.. Hanu Korean BBQ has a wonderful menu with several option to work with your pocketbook.. Considering this is an all you can eat buffet with quality high end seafood and steak products, the $40-$55 price per is totally worth it.. You have 2 hours to order all the meats, seafoods and veggies you want.. This place is a cool place because you cook the meats to your liking on a grill right in the middle of your table.. Super cool date night idea in my opinion.. I was a little hot at my table, but the place certainly was packed so that's to be expected..

I went here recently before the new year and I didn't realize how many changes happened to this restaurant. Over the past 2 years I've visited this restaurant over 6 times since it's the only KBBQ located in Chula Vista area, other than Manna. That was when it was $30 per person for regular. Now the price is $36 - $43 per person which is honestly not worth it anymore. In my visit I had a group of 3 and we were excited as we didn't have KBBQ in a few months. The meat quality has gone down so much and it made me and my party disappointed/ lost our appetite. The meat was so chewy and it tasted-- not fresh. Some bites we could even taste like maybe soap or cleaning chemicals? It might have been in our head, but we tried to eat more and we couldn't. We went around opening time and there was only 2 other parties seated at this time. Adding on, the service was a let down as the servers were not attentive at all, they left our empty plates from meat just on the table stacking up. Now if the restaurant was busy, we would understand, however we were there during opening time and barely any one was in the restaurant! Not only that, our server asked if we were done when we were eating and he turned off our grill, then walked away. We meant that we were done and needed our check as well. He just walked away... so we had to flag down a different server and we were helped. No doubt the servers are nice, just not attentive to the restaurant. We also saw 4 servers talking in a circle when they could've been asking if we needed refills or plates taken away. Sad to say, but I will not be coming here anymore ):

Overall this place is not bad, but it's not good either. It's a very happy medium. Let's start off with the good. The sake bombs were only $4.50. Yes you read that right. Half a cup of sapparro with a shot of sake on the side. This is probably the cheapest place i have found alcohol to actually be super affordable and FUN ! Another cool feature is the robot that comes around and drops off your side orders. This thing is so cool and the presentation was awesome. The service was exceptional, staff were very quick and attentive . Now onto the bad. This place was pretty dirty and kind of beat up. Im talking about stains on the wall, pieces of the wall coming off and exposing the steel beams, sticky floors and lots of messes and drip stains on the floor. The cuts of the meats were also mediocre. The best thing on the menu was the Hanu top blade steak. The bulgogi was lacking flavor, the spicy bulgogi was overspiced, and most of the meats did not taste like they had the greatest quality. The sides were good, i feel thats really hard to mess up, my favorite is the japchae (glass noodles). The best part about this place is its affordability. For 3 people and a round of sake bombs was only $125. Very affordable for a night out with a fun and safe twist of drinking game. Please drink responsibly !

baby octopus is for some (but i didn't eat this)

I just moved near here so I'm a local boi now. came here two or three times. price is on par with the rest of san diego maybe slightly higher but they have robots that bring dishes to you I like that. also the young men that work here are attentive and provide great service. Short rib is gooooood. beer tower feels light but that's a ME problem.

This is my first visit at Hanu here in Chula Vista. Friendly and fast service by the staff. They have a couple of courteous robotic servers passing the raw ingredients (meat cuts) to the table as well as courteous and personable servers as well. The foods are fresh and tasty. This restaurant have great decors and nice ambiance. Lots of available parking spaces in front and on the lot.

White rice, kimchi, cucumber salad and sauces.

Their marinated meats were too sweet. The only thing i liked here was the brisket and their gochujang sauce.

Good food, but after you leave, you pay an up charge for what you don't eat, and you aren't allowed to even take it home.

Ask the Community - Hanu Korean BBQ

Is the patio seat dog friendly?

Just called and got confirmation that their patio/outdoor is pet friendly. Not necessarily saying you can have your pet "sit" on one of the outdoor chairs - so maybe bring either a carrier or stroller if your dogs are small.

Can the servers cook the food on the grill for you or cook it in advance of serving it to you instead of cooking it yourself?

I'm sure they can, but it kind of takes away from the experience. Their staff is so nice and accommodating. I really doubt they would tell you no. But don't quote me Lol

When it says limited to one item do they mean each person for the visit? do you just get one personal sized piece of meat? I've never been to KBBQ.

    Each person gets one yes.

Is this a timed all-you-can-eat establishment?

Yes you have 2 hours to eat which is a lot of time!

Do you allow for 1 person dining utilizing the grills?

They do not! But theres a Korean place on telegraph

    Do they sell alcohol?

    Yes

    Is Reservation needed?

They don't do reservations. You have to walk in and write your name down with the hosts. I recommend coming in earlier just to put your name down, especially on weekends.

    Do you guys take reservations?

They don't take reservations! Just walk-ins

Until what time are you open on Saturdays?

10pm, but the last call for meat is at 9:30pm

    What are the hours?

    Monday - Sunday 11:30am - 10:00PM ( LAST CALL FOR MEAT/ FOOD 9:30pm)

I got the bulgogi stone pot combo with tofu soup. Everything was warm, hearty, and had really good flavor. It's a pretty good side portion and price is decent. The place is spacious and clean, and the service was great! My friend (who likes her soups salty) asked for some salt and they actually offered to remake her dish instead of just bringing salt. Although there was no need for that, it's nice to know they are attentive and truly want you to enjoy your meal. Definitely appreciated the extra effort. Will be back!

I got an oyakodon and the spicy champon…read more The oyakodon was way better than the one I had at Hanamichi. The rice was hot and moist, but not mushy, and the chicken was soft and juicy. That was great as your average American joint nukes the chicken until it's overcooked jerky. I did feel that the egg was somewhat understated in comparison. Also, the rice was moist, but I didn't really taste much extra flavor. It's not exactly saucy, but you can add your own seasoning I supposed. The spicy champon was good. The presentation does seem a bit dark for a champon? I'm not sure why, am I crazy? For the broth, I would've liked it be a bit creamier. I also found the noodles to be a tad thin and small portion. For the other ingredients, the meat was okay, and I definitely wasn't a fan of the giant scallion cuts. Miso soup was fine. And free edamame!
