So glad there's a good Pho restaurant in the area. Heard good things about this place and decided to check it out. Came in for late lunch. Inside seating, nice and clean. They have you sit where you want and possible take out it as well. It's quiet and light music. It is limited seating but there's bar seating as well. We ordered Wagyu Pho and Beef Fried Rice with Egg Rolls. The broth was delicious and not overpowering but tasty. We had the small size but there was a good amount of protein and noodles. The wagyu tasted so buttery and tender. Next time I'd like to try the bone marrow and the sliders. We definitely were pleasingly satisfied. Service was fast and efficient. Thank you so much!

Honestly I do not recommend this place. I love supporting small businesses or that are starting out but this place was just not good. I tried to give it a chance and tried everything we got multiple times. The spring rolls tasted as if the meat was out for too long, very gamey and not good tasting; the dipping sauce was authentic so I'll give them that. I was excited to try the shaken beef bc I haven't had it in a while since I moved to SD from Arizona. It tasted so burnt and the meat was so chewy, the gravy that it's supposed to have just tasted like burnt pan even the veggies were inedible. We threw everything away. It was also expensive and skimpy so not worth it. My bf got the stone plate pho to go and it was not good at all. The broth flavoring was not good and had a bad after taste & the meats were skimpy. They weren't busy, had 2 customers other than us. We love pho and soup/broth/steak & we're excited to try a new place so near us. The staff were okay, no complaints. But yes, if you like good food this place is not it. I hope they make their food with love in the future so they can get more business.

Saw we have a new pho place in our neighborhood and had to check it out! There is a sign-in sheet inside, which is common in pho places. No host/hostess. There were 2 parties ahead of us. Took about 10 minutes to get seated. The place inside is small, fits probably about 6 tables, plus there are a couple high-top seats. Being a new place, you can tell the staff is still working out some kinks, like having enough staffing, which can cause delays with service. However, we were expecting this and were happy to wait. We ordered the small beef pho (well done) and the shrimp chow mein. Both were tasty and flavorful. I was impressed that the "small" serving of pho was still pretty generous. The broth was aromatic and delicious. My mom said the shrimp chow mein was her favorite chow mein dish she's had in a long time! Overall, I think the food was tasty and it is worth checking out. Just be patient because (like with any new place), service could feel slow.

Came here on a Friday afternoon. I believe it's been a week since they opened. Pretty small spot with very limited seating, but very good quality food. The pho was very clean and flavorful and the meats were fresh. The sizzling beef plate had great flavor and was incredibly tender. Only issues we had were very small and probably just because of them still getting used to being busy. I had ordered a large and instead received a small bowl of pho. Also the sizzling beef and rice came out 10 minutes before the soup. Nothing too bad. Overall, service was good (other than the timing and wrong sized bowl) but they were both very kind and helpful. Prices are pretty high compared to most pho places we frequent but probably cause of the location.

Came here to buy pho for my niece, because she was sick. The service was great quick and fast! Broth is good, inside is a little tight, but it's fine. and I'm glad they are here in the neighborhood. We need more southeast Asian cuisine down here, thanks for being here!

Really good food, they serve the food in family size (sharing portions).the bone marrow served with the bread was amazing! Really kind, friendly and super fast service! Restaurant is also SUPER clean. In the same plaza there also is a Hansel's homemade ice cream, so you either sit and enjoy the sunset or walk around. Good chill spot!

Our family enjoys pho - to the point going another place nearly weekly. This time we decided to do something different and it didn't disappoint. The food came out quickly and tasted delicious. We realized the table was too small for our party and the server quickly offered up to move us to another table to make space. He was attentive and helpful! The playlist was on point as well. We were curious about this place when we were walking the plaza and glad we took a chance on it. Definitely worth checking out. If you enjoy the pho on telegraph, you'll enjoy this place as well!

I happened to be in the area and noticed they opened a new pho joint. Pho is very scarce in east Chula Vista so I wanted to see what they had to offer. I got the 4 egg rolls to start off and they were delicious. I ordered the pho with Wagyu and short rib. The pho was a bit underwhelming. The broth was just okay. The short rib was tough and did not have a lot of flavor. I was hoping the Wagyu would be better but it cooked super fast because the broth was piping hot. I'd say the presentation of the pho was impressive as the bowl itself was scorching hot. You definitely want to wait a beat before diving into the pho because it definitely will burn your mouth. I'll definitely be back to try some of their other offerings and give them another shot.

I'm going, are you? We need to support new businesses. I love that this is closer to us. I hope that this will also be our go-to for pho here in Chula Vista

I'm a big pho fan. I've been to almost every pho spot across SoCal: San Diego, OC, Long Beach, East LA. I judge pho by several factors, including; Broth depth, protein quality, broth temperature, noodle texture, and overall cleanliness all matter. Let me start with the positive. customer service was great. We were greeted right away, staff was friendly, and they were attentive the whole time. No complaints there at all. Now the food... The broth tasted like water. Straight up. It was missing that signature pho aroma and depth, especially the star anise note that gives pho its identity. There was no richness, no body, no balance. It didn't taste like it had been simmered properly, more like something rushed or overly diluted. I ordered the oxtail thinking it would carry the dish... it didn't. It was mostly fat and tough silver skin. Not trimmed well, not cooked down enough to be enjoyable. I found myself picking around it more than actually eating it. The broth also came out way too hot. Like aggressively hot. It ended up overcooking the noodles in the bowl, so they got super soft and mushy almost immediately. Instead of that perfect chewy texture, it just turned into a soggy mess halfway through eating. On top of that, the cleanliness needs serious attention. The windows, tables, posters, and even some of the accessories had dried sauce splatter and grime on them. It kind of kills your appetite when you're sitting there noticing all of that while trying to eat. If Pho7Cow in National City is an 8.5 for me and PhoLab in Lake Forest is a 9.8... then Phology is a 2.5. And honestly, customer service is carrying most of that score. I wanted to like this place, I really did. But as someone who knows what good pho should taste like, this just wasn't it. Hoping they tighten things up because right now it's a miss and u want a good Pho spot in Chula Vista, especially Otay.

The elusive Nem Nuong aka Vietnamese gold
    Roy F.

As the Rock would say....Finally, legit Pho has come to Otay Ranch.....the wait is over as Phology has come to the south side of Otay Ranch, bringing legit Vietnamese dishes including waygu pho, rib pho, broken/shaken rice dishes, and banh mi pho broth dip. If that wasn't enough, they got the spring rolls to boot including the hard to find Nem Nuong!!! It's like having Brodard's in our backyard, if you know you know. All the eats are made with care by the owners and it shows in the preparation and fresh ingredients. Expect a wait when they are busy, but we all know.... good things come to those who wait. Their location is in a cozy space and well appointed. Enough of me singing their praises and get over to phology and smell what they are cooking!! Southside Otay Ranch finally has a legit go to Vietnamese spot go get some!

Artichoke hearts were great and the stuffed tomatoes were a pleaselant surprise. My family had numerous pastas and a pie which we were all blown away by this hidden gem. Unfortunately the expirence took a turn when it came to our service from our server, Mia. I should mention that we were not locals and we traveled from a different state. We spent our day going to Sesame Place with our family and wanted a bite to eat after. I will say we weren't the best dressed given our day however, I feel like we were targeted for this reason from the beginning. We had a party of 6 and we knew that mandatory tip was included before going. That did not stop us since we were looking for a delicious meal before driving back home. We ordered water as soon as we sat down since we had spent the day in the sun. From that moment, Mia rolled her eyes and didn't even ask how we were doing, not even a smile. Mia's attitude towards us was very unprofessional the entire time. She would come over very quickly and wouldn't ask if we needed anything or how we were doing. We had to ask her in the small time she would come over or ask someone else. We were celebrating my birthday and mentioned that but she didn't acknowledge it. The cherry on top was when we received our bill, it was $201 and some change. We gave $210 and the exact change in cash so we could recieve an even $10 back and leave it at the table even though the tip was already taken out. Mia brought back 9 dollars and 1 dollar in change back and honestly, it was petty. After that, we didn't leave anything extra and left feeling pretty upset with the overall service. It was disappointing for my family that our last part of our vacation ended like this. Money was not an issue for my family and it is disappointing to get judged when I have the same currency as everyone else paying inside. Unfortunately, I will not recommend this restaurant to anyone even though the food was truly delicious.
