We were originally planning on getting Cuban food next door but I saw the photos of the food at this place next door and decided to eat here instead. I wish I hadn't. The portions were very small for a $15 plate. The beef was dry. The shrimp was good. The Mac salad was a little on the saltier side. Overall I wouldn't come back. My mother in law had the teriyaki beef and the sauce had way too much ginger and was very salty. And she typically puts salt on all of her food. My wife liked the teriyaki chicken plate but again the small portions for the price just made it not worth it. read more

**CASH ONLY RIGHT NOW** I first had this food when it was catered at a party. I enjoyed it so much, I asked my friend where she got the food and bookmarked the yelp. There is no working website/online menu and I couldn't trust the old menu photos, so I waited to arrive at the restaurant to order. The bbq ribs were discontinued about 10 years ago because it got too expensive, which was a let down. The only thing I really like about this place is that you can order things as a "side" or "extra" depending on how much you want to spend/how hungry you are. The cashier was really nice and patient with me. I'm giving 2 stars because the Mac salad was the worst I've ever had in my life from a Hawaiian place; it tasted and looked old. It had a strange after taste and after two bites of it, I was done. The bbq beef is a 10/10 and the only reason I'd come back here. My biggest issue though is that they trick you into thinking you're getting a full portion of meat but they stuff a thick layer of cabbage underneath the meat, so you're barely getting anything. If I had known this, I would've told them no cabbage, please give me full beef, and I'll even pay extra for it. I bought a plate and somehow the cabbage came up in conversation and I asked for no cabbage, so they put a layer of rice instead to fluff up the meat. And for the $8 side of bbq beef, it was such a small amount of beef and a huge layer of cabbage!!!! The meal was a huge disappointment and we were still hungry after this meal. read more

It's a small place but the food is really good. I had the teriyaki chicken with macaroni salad and white rice. I was actually craving macaroni salad and someone suggested this place to me. The macaroni salad was perfect. (It satisfied my craving) The chicken and teriyaki sauce was delicious. The katsu sauce it comes with wasn't too salty or overbearing. The BBQ beef was also good. Flavored but not too salty, and tender! Not chewy or dry at all. Yum! It's always disappointing when the food is good, but the rice sucks. Not here. The rice was cooked perfectly. And macaroni was cool and creamy. The veggies I got on the side was boiled and cooked soft. It helped to lighten the otherwise heavy meal. I showed up tonight randomly actually trying to go to the restaurant next door which was closed. I decided to order food here instead. I was actually lucky they served me. They close at 7:00 pm and I walked into their restaurant at 7:00 pm. The cashier had to ask them in the back if they would serve me which they kindly obliged. I ordered two combination plates which were the Chicken Katsu Combo and the Barbecue Chicken/ Barbecue Beef Combination plate. When I got home I noticed the Chicken/Beef Combo order had gotten screwed up and was only a chicken combo meal. Luckily both combination plates were very tasty. I especially like the Chicken Katsu plate and my picky 5 year old son ate the Chicken Katsu up like it was his favorite (Chicken Nuggets ). Both plates are served with a serving of macaroni salad and white rice. Everything was good. Nothing was bad about the experience. My experience was not like some of the bad reviews I am seeing on here. This place is legit, definitely one of the better Hawaiian spots in town. The mac salad was great and had fresh ingredients. The chicken katsu was crispy and the bbq chicken was juicy. Excellent customer service and very friendly staff. And very reasonable prices. I now use them for my parties and people love the quality and taste. In fact my daughter is turning 5 this Saturday so I have to go in this week to place my order for 45 people. The bbq chicken was very good. Grilled perfectly juicy and roasted The bbq beef was more like thin carne asada grilled. A little over cooked for my taste The egg rolls and sweet & sour were good. The katsu was the most disappointing of all. The chicken was cooked more like chicken parm style not very crunchy like L&L. The macaroni was good but misssing something just that extra tang or sweetness that makes it taste great. The katsu sauce was very good as well as the teriyaki sauce. In an attempt to be healthy I got steamed veggies instead. Gross. The veggies were for sure a frozen medley that was boiled, mushy, awful. I really liked this place. It's a good Hawaiian restaurant with good bbq, located in the South Bay Area. They are better than L&L if you ask me, from the service to the quality of the food. This place is on point. I've come here twice before, and remembered the food being good. So a buddy and I came through for an early dinner. We were greeted upon entering and the guy was really friendly and overall pleasant. We ordered a beef and chicken bbq plate, and the bbq chicken plate. Both plates come with macaroni salad and rice. However, the guy said we could swap something out if we didn't want those sides. I kept mine as is, and my buddy got 2 scoops of rice. I saw they had some good looking egg rolls at the counter (vegetable and chicken- 3 for $1.99), so we added 2 chicken and a vegetable roll. We sat down got our drinks and were waiting less than 5 minutes when our food was ready. It was super fast, and the bag was heavy, so I knew there was a good amount of food in it. The food containers were packed with food, and had a lot of meat pieces without fat. We got home and got down to business. The food had good flavor, there was a good portion of chicken and beef, the rice was soft, and it all tasted good. There was a lot of food, so obviously we didn't finish it, but made for a good small second meal. We went here this thursday for lunch with co workers and noticed new ownership as the cooks, we have been going there for the past 2 years, so we ordered the food was just bad tasting with their sauces such as sweet sour sauces were watered down as the chicken katsu sauces , then for the prices we also noticed smaller styerfom containers are also much smaller for the prices of the combos . In fact Panda express is a much better deal for their prices, we thought supporting a local business was better, but No not that we wanted the combos stuffed but for the $9.00 to 11.00 a plate combo at least make the food etable, as the katsu as the dips without so much water. In fact we took a couple of the sauce cups to a lab to find out how watered down is the food contents, just a shame they are so bad. read more

Tried this place on a recommendation from the good folks over at MJ's Fusion Deli. Warm welcome at the counter with a friendly smile and help with the menu. Place is clean quiet with a nice breeze on a warm day. I ordered from the Hawaiian combo side of the menu; Katsu Chick/Teri beef with rice and mac salad. Portion size was right and with small bottle of water total was $10.70 including tax. Katsu was very good, great crunch, chicken was cooked well and the sauce was excellent. Beef was well marinated, low fat ratio and tasted ok, good but basic Teri sauce. Mac salad was ok, slightly heavy on mayo, but that may be just me. Rice was cooked perfect. Overall if you are in the area and want a decent bite to eat it's worth a try. I'll be back to eat again to try something different. Happy eats! read more
