Came here for my nieces bday celebration a few weeks ago and the kids had a great time. This place is located, towards the back of the plaza next to the movie theater. Parking is a hit an miss as it is shared with many businesses. Our bday party was booked weeks in advanced, and when we arrived the previous party was being cleaned up. The reserved party area is in the open which was a bit uncomfortable, they allowed us to bring decorations and the young lady helped us with the set up. Some parents had signed the waivers in advance and when the staff checked they were told they needed to submit them again as they didn't show in their system, creating a delay. Finally, every guest received their bracelet and were sent to get fitted with their harness an instructions were provided. They had 4 ppl helping, but that wasn't enough as they also had other patrons. For a Saturday afternoon this place was understaffed, the employees did as much as they could but could of benefited from some extra hands.

What a fun experience! We actually found this place from watching Blippi and meekah on Netflix. My son was obsessed watching it and on one episode they came here and it was close to us. You get 90 minutes of climbing. You can make an appointment just Incase it's busy. We walked in on a Saturday afternoon and was able to get in without waiting. When we were leaving there was a bigger crowd that made people wait in groups for the next time slot. It's for kids and adults. The crowd was mainly little kids so I don't think it's a date place for adults - it can be but they would be waiting and running into many many little children. The place is slightly smaller than I thought when k watched the Netflix show. Regardless it was so much fun!! My son spent the entire 90 minutes here and he wasn't really able to try every wall - he did like some more than the others and kept climbing the same ones too. We would definitely come here again!

We drive over an hour to go to this place because it's kid friendly. This has ignited a climbing passion in my 6 year old son. I like how admission is like an hour and a half and now includes a borrowed wristband to get points. The staff is great here and I just wish that all of the climbing sections have the green pad to get points!

We came here today for a family outing. When looking at the website, you would think the place was a lot bigger so when we walked in I was a little disappointed. However my 3 kiddos had a blast. My fearless 7 year old wasted no time continuously climbing up to the top of the walls. Just to see the smile on his face made my day and we would definitely go back. The staff was friendly, place was clean.

This place is so cool! Really great way to get kids interested in climbing without the seriousness of conventional gyms. Wear your own sneakers, clip yourself in and out. It lets kids pace themselves and have the independence to try different courses. I did call ahead to ask them if it was appropriate for younger children, and they said yes, there's an area for soft play. I didn't take any stars off for the dirty play area that is not suitable for small children, or any baby, in my opinion. They would do better to take the area out all together. I suggest leaving baby at home and bringing your older kiddos 6+.

This is such a cool spot to visit, especially when you want to get active without being stuck in the summer heat. The air conditioning makes it feel like an indoor hike! I highly recommend checking out their special on the first Wednesday of the month. You can get 110 minutes of climbing for only $9 a person, which is an amazing deal and a great way to help the kids burn off some serious energy.

My initial visit to Hapik in South Gate, CA, proved to be a more challenging experience than anticipated. The pricing structure appears competitive, with a family package accommodating one adult and two children for approximately $18.50 per person for a 90-minute climbing session. The facility offers a diverse selection of climbing routes suitable for both adults and children, with some presenting a significant challenge, even for experienced climbers. Upon ticket purchase, a comprehensive briefing is provided, covering the proper use of safety equipment, including clipping and unclipping procedures. It would be beneficial to include a demonstration of the rappelling process during the briefing to familiarize participants with the descent procedure. Following the briefing, we proceeded to explore the climbing routes. Initially, I experienced some apprehension regarding the initial descent, as I did not feel entirely secure. In retrospect, attempting a partial jump might have provided a better understanding of the experience. My four-year-old child was hesitant to ascend and jump from the higher sections, likely due to her light weight and the interference of the clips. I am uncertain if the equipment was appropriately sized for her. Despite these considerations, we enjoyed the experience, although some climbs demanded significant hand and finger strength. The execution proved more challenging than observing others, such as the "Stairway to Heaven" climb. This particular route is popular but presents a degree of perceived risk due to its height, even for adults. I observed some children effortlessly completing the climb. Overall, it was an enjoyable day, though my hands were sore afterward. Therefore, a 90-minute session should be sufficient to explore all the available climbs. I would suggest staffs to show demo how to rappel down so people can come down safely.

The weight limit on their equipment says it can take a max of 309 lbs so even though the colorful equipment and ads seem child-oriented, adults can have a fun time climbing too. I would recommend making an appointment in advance. While it was not busy for a late Monday afternoon, the location is not too large so if you have a big party come in it could leave you waiting longer than expected. They also requested we come in 30 minutes in advance so they could give us an overview of safety, but it really took about 5-10 minutes of them prepping us before we were ready to climb on our own. Again, could take longer with a bigger group (we were a party of 2 climbers and 1 spectator). The staff is a bit young, but they are knowledgeable about safety and are looking out to make sure you are handling the equipment correctly. Parking is no problem as it's part of a large mall. This was my first time using auto-belay equipment and I had a great time challenging my fear of heights climbing up the different walls. Some of the most interesting challenges were the circles that could spin when you grabbed then and the ascending pipes you walk along that looked like they came straight out of Mario World. It's a great place to try things out. Some walls/equipment seemed a bit worn, but I had no worries that anything was at risk of breaking or falling apart. I was told that they sometimes swap out the wall designs, though looking at past posted photos it doesn't seem like they change things too drastically. I enjoyed that for the same wall, there were different mini-challenges listed to increase difficulty, such as recommending you climb on certain colored holds (this is what turns their 30 walls into 100+ different "routes"). You can really feel like a video game character and get a decent sweat in once you get over your initial fear. Would come back again with friends if we needed something fun to do!

My son (6 years old) and his friends had a great time, he stilll talks about it daily! We didn't know you have to reserve a time slot before arriving, I mean you can chance it if there is availability but I would check online or call before arriving, also fill out the waiver online to bypass waiting for the tablet. 90 mins climbing sessions for $21. Lots of fun and challenging climbs, I would love to try it too next time. Restrooms area was a bit dirty and floors were extremely wet. That's probably the only con.

I came here this afternoon after a distant lover invited me out the blue. I seen this place on Social Media and it's been on the bucket list until today. It turns out that every first Wednesday of the month it's $9 to climb whereas every other day it's about $22 to get in. I had a blast climbing the walls and acting like Mario going up the pipes. The staff was very helpful and their playlist was fire. I'd definitely come back here for there Adult Night because the way my distant lover and I had fun was like none other and I regret the kiddos had to hear our loud mouths... Lol we tried to watch what we threw out there in the open but the place is a full of adventure! Definitely a cool climbing gym that's not a climbing gym so climbers don't get any bright ideas ;) Pics included are some climbs they have.. Sorry, I can't show it all because I hope you go and find out !

I was really upset because of a Dad and his little girl, must have been 7, 8 years old we're in the toddler area. The girl had an accident inside the ball pit and I overheard the Dad scolding her for peeing, but didn't inform anybody that she even had an accident. My son was in the ball pit when this happened, and I noticed that there were wet footprints on the floor and on the edge of the pit. I grabbed the spray that they had and sprayed the area down, not thinking anything of it. One of the staff noticed that I did that and right away brought towels and sprays to clean the area and another staff member came over and asked me to take my son out because they were spraying chemicals in the pit area to sanitize. When I took him out, he was completely covered in pee all over the back of his shirt & shorts. My son wears diapers so I know it wasn't him. I was really upset, and I told the staff, I went to go talk to the manager about it, and they fully refunded me for the time that I was there. My kids were upset cause we had to leave early, we were 35- 40 minutes in & the guy in the front gave them lollipops, with my approval, to help me calm them. The staff there is amazing and on it about Cleaning and sanitizing everything. They shut the whole toddler section down just so they can sanitize the entire area. As far as that, Dad, it's extremely disgusting that he tried leaving without saying anything to anybody. Accidents happen that I understand but keeping it to yourself and then trying to leave without informing staff is beyond me.

There were times staff kept putting back toys so quickly and frequently I was getting annoyed (in my head) because I had to keep getting boats and fish back out for him in the water area. I love that they switch out the sensory items in the art room throughout the month so it's a different experience each visit. Their Wonder Lab area with painting was sooo fun! It's too bad it was only seasonal. My son loves all of it - harvesting fruits and veggies in the farm, pushing his own cart in Trader Joe's, cooking in the restaurant, etc. It is truly a great, fun space for kids. Once, the CEO played in the construction area with him for a few minutes - that impressed me. They also regularly have special event days with dance and music demonstrations, author read alouds, etc. Members Only hour is the best time to visit (they open an hour early). Once 10:00 hits, the floodgates open and it's gets substantially more crowded. With all that said, we visited on a recent Sunday afternoon - never again! Every exhibit was in total disarray (every single toy on the floor and rarely even in the right zone), older kids zooming around on kid cars like scooters, a child climbing the fake fountain in the center and standing at the top (where were the parents?! No staff member present either...it was really dangerous). I've never seen Pretend City look like that before but if that's what it was like on my first visit it would scare me away! There's lots of parking but mostly in the back lot. The front lot gets full fast and many spots are reserved for other businesses. You can bring your own food/drinks to eat in their Cafe area or purchase some from vending machines. Wish they sold coffee... Again, amazing spot and 5/5 on weekday mornings. 1/5 on weekend afternoons.
