I cannot say enough about Happily Ever Laughter! From the initial emails, response time and the follow through down to the sweet and authentic Miss June who was punctual and absolutely lovely! She reached out a few days before the big day to make sure she had all the right details and to give us her direct number in case we needed it. You can choose a variety of options but we decided to do the 1.5 hour option which includes 3 activities, and a special gift for the birthday child which cost $210 ($150 due when booking the event and the remaining $60 in cash on the day of the event. We also included the tip). We choose the magic show, Colorful Balloon Twisting and Sparkling Face Painting for the kids. My daughter was thrilled to have a real faerie come to visit her and her 11 friends at our house in the east bay. It turned out to be a beautiful and sunny January day (sigh) and we made the most of it by having the magic show on the lawn in the backyard. The kids were entranced with Miss June's magic and Sylvie was so excited when she magically presented her a glittering butterfly beanbag as a birthday gift. Her face painting skills were incredible - by far the best we've experienced. Great job - better than I expected! Highly recommended! We had our company holiday party this pasted Saturday in El Cerrito and had one of the wonderful faerie, Miss Thistle, entertain the children for about 2 hours. I planned this last minute and they were able to accommodate us. There were about 50 adults and 30 children under the age of 8 (even amount of boys and girls). Miss Thistle was so good with the children, had enough time for everyone, was self managing which made things really easy on me since I had the rest of the party to worry about! She painted fantastic and intricate designs in a very short amount of time! She also did balloon twisting and a magic show for about 40 min which kept the kids super happy, entertained and engaged and allowed the adults to mingle. I called a lot of other placed before finding these faeries, and I have to say they are very reasonably prices - cheaper than many places I called. I can only echo what other reviewers have said time and time again about this company. Their website is great, their booking system is efficient, and the whole operation is extremely professional. Miss Olive arrived for my daughter's 4th birthday party a few minutes early and stayed a few minutes late to finish up the face painting. All the moms at the party (including me) were extremely impressed with her artistic skills. Some girls even slept with their face paint on to preserve it for the next day! Although I completely understand why people want the Disney characters, I feel like expectations can be really high and the imposters usually fall short. Even at Disneyland the characters don't always meet those expectations. This concept of original individual fairies or "faeries" allows for more creativity and imagination in my opinion. The one negative was that Miss Olive didn't play the ukelele for the sing-along. I read on the site that all faeries play the ukelele, so I was expecting it. The little girls knew no different so it wasn't a huge deal. Their prices are very reasonable, I looked around. I remember coming across Happy Ever Laughter a few years ago (before having children) and chuckling at the concept. Here I am now with a 3 year old and 1 year old with birthdays just weeks apart from each other and trying to figure out how to entertain kids that range in ages from 9 months to 13. Groupon was promoting a magician and that guy was promoting a balloon artist. Those are two things that often entertain the masses. While doing a bit more surfing, I came across HEL again. Less than one week to go for the combined birthday party, we were able to have Miss June visit and delight our little (and not-so-little) ones. We selected the 90 minute package for $195 which included sparkly face paint, colorful balloons, and a magic puppet show. All of this took place in our backyard and thank goodness she had them all enthralled or else I may have gone nuts with almost 50 people coming and going in and out of our small home. Our designated faerie never broke character even when questioned by the adults. We learned that Miss June came from a sparkling land of *insert something faerie-sounding*...it was difficult to understand what my 3 year old was telling me, but I heard it from a few of the parents. I highly recommend hiring a themed character from Happily Every Laughter for your kid's party. Miss Moxie was our Faerie for a 2-hour window to entertain 15-18 kids during a wedding reception (to give parents a bit of a break). She was incredible! The kids ranged in ages between 6 - 12 years old but they were all transfixed when she started her performance. She performed a magic show and then offered face painting and balloon figures to the kids. The two hours flew by! My experience with Happily Ever Laughter was great from beginning to end. The only thing I'll mention is that you need to realize they NEVER break character. I hired Miss June for my son's 6th birthday party. I was a little hesitant at first because their promotional video and Yelp reviews made it sound more girl-focused. My son was having a Ninja-Superhero themed party, but I wanted to do something different than rent out an hour at a jumpy party place. They were fantastic! Miss June came as a Magician. I chose the 90 minute package with 3 activities: a magic show, balloon twisting, and activities. She had a voice of a fairy, and held her character throughout the party and on the phone. She even made little fairy sounds when she drank her water (no children were around)! It was really funny actually. Anyhow, why I give Happily Ever Laughter 5 stars is because Miss June and the "fairies" who emailed with me back and forth prior to the party date made the entertainment relevant! For instance, when Miss June had to do a twist to a balloon, she said, "Now I'm going to give it a karate kick! HAIYAH!" and the parachute activities were called "Ninja training". She even presented my son with a gift during the magic show, which was a Ninja mask. (Okay, the mask looked more like a red belt from a fuzzy robe that she cut a slit into, but the idea was really thoughtful!) Anyhow, I thought she was great. It was totally worth every dollar, and in the end, we spent less money hiring her and buying tons of food for our guests who could stay as long as they wanted than we would having it at a jumpy party place where you are limited to ordering their food and needing to get out within 1.5 hours! There were 10 kids at the party total where most were 6 year olds, but there was also a 3 year old and an 8 year old, and Miss June entertained them all. I'll attach a photo! read more

Fairy "Heather" somehow managed to sprinkle fairy dust into the ether and granted my wish; I had a magical fairy joining me for 1. 5 hours of bliss to help celebrate our little miracle baby who was turning 3! After communicating with Fairy "Giselle" about any special requests or needs for the party a few days before she flew in with the help of her grand wings, she arrived with a bag of face paint, magical fairy dancing music, and the personality of a true fairy... all on time! In fact, she actually had enough time to help me take the quiche out of the oven and she even offered to plate them for me while I went to share the news of her arrival with the kids! Who does that? I hired two faeries from Happily Ever Laughter for my wedding in Sonoma County in September 2018 and they were absolutely magical and delightful! All of my guests LOVED THEM! (and I had a child-free wedding!) We had the faeries arrive about 15 minutes before the ceremony to greet guests and interact with them to add a bit of magic and whimsy since our wedding was inspired by Midsummer Night's Dream! ;) Following the ceremony, the faeries mingled with the guests during cocktail hour and applied dazzle designs! It was a fabulous ice breaker, and so many of our guests were able to connect over this shared experience. Which was great because our guest list was many people we are close with but who didn't know each other well. I had also ordered customized temporary flash tattoos for our wedding and I was concerned that they might not get used. The faeries saved the day and offered to apply them to guests when I mentioned them during a confirmation call. I think every guest wore one a temporary tattoo in addition to sparkling dazzle designs on their faces! Even my grandparents! LOL It was truly magical and all of my guests told me how much they enjoyed meeting the faeries. My only regret: I wish I had booked them to stay longer than 2 hours, instead of having them fly away at the end cocktail hour.
