First and foremost, reasonable price for QUALITY work! Originally, I came to Happy Alteration to just get my bridesmaid dress hemmed. I was already happy with the dress itself, but when I came to the shop the manager/owner - very nice guy by the way, was kind enough to offer some expert tips/recommendations. In short - I LOVE MY DRESS. In addition to getting the length shortened, he was able to make the dress appear more feminine, and was able to insert cups in the chest area for girls who are like me who are not so blessed - LOL. As far as the amount of time it took, you just give him a date that you need your stuff back and he will be more than happy to try and accommodate your needs. They do a good job here but it was kind of expensive. I came here because of the stellar reviews and the fact that the reviews stated- prices were good. I had to get my bridesmaid dress hemmed. She was going to charge me $55 to cut the length and to tuck in the sleeves a little. I thought that was way too expensive and asked only to cut the length, which ended up costing me $40. I definitely think they did a nice job but for $40, I'm sure I could have gone anywhere. It was a bit out of the way for me so I felt it wasn't worth coming. read more

Wow, I am so incredibly grateful for such incredible work done to my wedding dress- I had the side taken in, shortened hemline, and the added a bustle! There was a gap between my last button and the bustle button (I had told them I wanted it that low so it was totally my fault), but it didn't look right with the gap, so I brought in 3 additional buttons a few weeks later to close the gap. Overall ratings for this place seemed pretty good and they apparently have over 20 years of experience, so I assumed this place was legit. Unfortunately, I was wrong. Several things I was displeased with: 1) over priced - I was willing to pay a little extra because I was thinking it would be worth it, but it's just an average tailor - if not below average. So there's no reason for their extremely high prices 2) horrible customer service - there was a problem with one of the items I had their tailor and they wanted to charge me again for them to fix it. Their way of compensating me was charging only half the original price (which seems like they just set on the fly because originally the wife charged me and took measurements but when I came back and brought up the problem the husband had a different price in mind). I had to haggle the guy for 20minutes until he finally agreed to fix it for free. 3) poor quality of work - after paying their incredibly high prices and having to go through the haggling, the result isn't even that great. I have extra string hanging out at random places that I have to cut off myself and some things still weren't right. All I know is that I will not be coming back here because customer satisfaction is NOT their #1 priority, making money is. And on top of that, their work isn't worth it. read more

Due to medical issues we had to suddenly move our wedding up and I had 8 days to get my wedding dress altered. Happy Alteration took the dress in, explained what they reasonably could do in that time, and dry cleaned the dress. This place came in extremely clutch.... Asked all over Corona Riverside area for a tailor to alter a dress on the same day and either people were booked or we're not able to do it quick enough. For starters, it's doesn't hurt that when you walk in the gentleman says wow, you look like a Movie Star! Aside from the great greeting they answer the phone, and with a great attitude. I was looking for a place to alter my wedding reception dress, fiance's tux jacket, and the maid of honor's dress. Came here on a recommendation of my sister in law. I fell in love with my reception dress, but it was 2 sizes too big. I took a big risk and bought it anyway after shopping around and not finding anything I liked. My reception dress is fully beaded in the bodice so I thought it was going to be hard and very expensive to alter, but the owner reassured me that she could do it and for a very reasonable price.
