Terrible terrible terrible people who did an awful job, denied me my refund and demanded me to pay again if I wanted it "fixed" Do not take anything you care about here. I had a one-of-a-kind jersey that I wanted turned into a dress because it was huge. I showed the man a video of exactly what I wanted him to do with this jersey and how to turn it into a dress. All he had to do was cut the sleeves off so up the side and then reattach the sleeve. When I came in to pick it up, the sleeves were not cut, they're two different sizes, the neckline wasn't cut to size and I looked like the background dancers in the goofy movie with the broad shoulders. There's so much bunching in the top since I have smaller breast and I pointed that out on Monday and he just kept repeating "I cut where I pin" anyone can do that. So since he was only going to cut what he pins, which was not our initial discussion, I took the time to explain. Show him the video again. I made it a point to make sure that he was going to be able to do this the way that I wanted before dropping it off because I would've spent more time looking for places that were capable of following instructions. Thankfully, I recorded our conversation and reported it to the Better Business Bureau. They just kept repeating the same sentence over and over again to the point where I started yelling over them and they started calling me crazy because I didn't want them to "fix anything" and I wanted a refund. I don't usually come to this appt for my pants alternation but my family recommended this spot and wanted to give it a try. The prices were ways higher than what I usually paid for. Two denim jeans and they charged me 76 dollars in total. I was in shocked when I paid. And I thought ok maybe they will get them done quickly. I had two tank tops that the straps needed shortening slightly as well as two dresses that needed the straps reattached. I was measured for the tops by a woman and a man rang me up and I was given a ticket and told when they would be available for pick up. When I returned I did not try anything on since I was fitted for the tops when I dropped it off. A few days later when I tried on the tops the straps had been cut and sewn too short. I called and had to go back so they could redo them. Luckily there was enough fabric tucked into the seam that they were able to lengthen them again. I took my bag in to get a patch sewn on. The gentleman that was at the front desk pinned the patch to the bag so he knew where I wanted it sewn on. He pinned it on crooked so I asked him to make sure to straighten it out before he sewed it. He did not. I returned a week later and the patch was completely crooked. When I asked if he could fix it, he said he could. I left it and picked it up the following day. The patch, still crooked, was moved down so much that you can now see the holes from where it was previously sewn. My bag is now ruined. I will not be returning to this location. read more

DO NOT GO HERE LITERALLY GO ANYWHERE ELSE!! I went to this tailor to hem two pairs of pants for my cousin. They had initially charged $90 for it, which was already high, but I was already there so I decided to continue with their business. They completely ruined the pants!! When we went back to get it fixed, he told us it would be $45 to fix a mistake like that. As if he wasn't the one who made the mistake!! And when we tried to show him the bank statement of this store charging us to show proof that they were the ones who made the mistake, they acted as if that wasn't them. Their name is literally on the bank statement :// I honestly would have been fine paying the high $90 price if they had just agreed to fix the mistake. The fact that they RECOGNIZED the mistake and pretended like it wasn't their fault is what got me. Nightmare tailor. Definitely don't go here. Tried to get two bottoms altered and they wanted to charge $45 EACH. Okay... fine, sure. But then they didn't alter either of them correctly. Took them back to get fixed and the store owner didn't want to help me. Said I didn't get them done at his shop, and he had taken the receipt so I didn't have that for proof. Pulled up my payment history on my phone and showed them the charge to my bank from THEIR SHOP.... And he still refused and tried to charge me another $45 per bottom to fix the issue. read more

My husband had a wonderful experience here getting a suit tailored to fit him. It fits him so well. My experience wasn't as smooth as his, but I would still recommend this shop due to their dedication to their work and customer service. I recently came here to get a bridesmaid's dress altered. When we came to drop it off, we were greeted and then they let me know they would have a female seamstress come out to assist me. The bust area was too large for me. The seamstress and I decided to take it in a little on top. It still looked large even with the way it was pinned. She then said she would see the pleats down and that should help. I paid and then left. When it came time to pick up my dress, I tried it on again. It looked odd in the bust area. Again, there was great customer service. There were only men there, so they asked if I could come back the next day and the woman was who worked on it would be there to take a look. I arrived there right at 9am the next day. She took a look and saw what I was pointing out. She determined it was happening because she sewed from the front and through the lining of the dress. She said she would undo the stitching and then sew it so it did not go through the lining. I left and came back about 30 minutes later and tried it on again. It was still off and the sewed down pleats did not look right. She tried to adjust it 2 more times. I ended up leaving with it and decided I would try it on at home again because I needed to get to work. When I got home and tried it on, it still wasn't what I had hoped for. I called the shop, and they said I could come back in. By the time I got there, the seamstress who had been working on it was gone. There was another seamstress, Freida, who was my saving grace. She saw the issues too, and told me she would help. She adjusted some of the stitching and gave me cups to pin into it and gave me advice of wearing a different bra or cup in there too. Overall, I am glad my dress was fixed. The customer service here was top notch through communicating in a timely manner, letting me come back, and them trying to fix the dress. The manager found out I was not completely pleased with my experience, and offered me a full refund, which I very much appreciated. I would recommend this shop for any men's tailoring of suits or jeans, and for a bridesmaids dress. I will come back in the future with another dress that I need hemmed for length. I would recommend this shop purely based off their dedication to making things right and making sure you are a happy customer. Came here to get 2 different things tailored/altered: - SO's dress pants. When they finished and we went to pick it up there was slight confusion because we were handed off someone else's pants. My SO tried them on in store (tip: always try on!) and noticed that while the pants were the same color, the size was completely different. They took it back from us and found the correct pants - exact same color, but now the correct size. The alterations looked good though. - My dress. While I was a tiny bit hesitant since there was the confusion over my SO's pants, I did bring my dress here anyway since we liked how they did the pants. He lives in LA and had taken them to several places and they told him they could not be fixed. Well Sew Fit looked at them and thought they might have to be woven which he was willing to do. I purchased a bustier top in leather I saw on a resale site and discovered it was too big for me to wear as is. Because I hoped to wear it for an event, I looked up tailors near me that could accept leather alterations and Sew Fit came up with great reviews. It's located in a small plaza along Tustin on the way to Trader Joe's and Target. There is a fair amount of parking depending on when you get there - I never had too much trouble trying to find a spot when I dropped off and picked up. I tried on my item and the folks at Sew Fit clipped/pinned the bustier on me so it would fit better, while discussing options for how they could take it in. I went with them cutting up the back and creating new back seams to fit the top with a similar tapered look to the original. They did accept a rush request which was great for my situation. On the day my top was ready, I received a text message and picked it up after work. The top fit much better and the team did a great job with the seams. There was some elastic at the top of the bustier when I bought it, which was still there. I'm not entirely sure if they replaced the elastic, but some pieces felt either stretched out (due to the age of the top) or they could have been twisted in the casing. (I'm sure that could be corrected another time.) Pricing wasn't bad and the folks there were polite and professional. read more

I stopped by to get a summer dress altered after seeing this business on Yelp. I needed the elastic loosened or replaced on both arms of the dress, as well as a slit that needed to be made a little more modest. Ha. I believe Essie is the one who quoted me $35- I felt it was fairly reasonable for the work needing to be done. I picked the dress up yesterday and tried it on- alterations were great. But then I met an older gentleman when I was there, who I had pin 2 items for me- I needed two straps adjusted on a simple jersey dress. Seemed like a simple adjustment. And a tankini that was too long- I needed it shortened. Also what I thought was a simple fix considering the material and simple stitching on it. But he quoted me a whopping $28 for the jersey dress and $25 for the tankini. I was blown away at how outrageous the quote was. Needless to say, I took my items elsewhere. And to be honest, 2 other local places quoted me approximately $12-15 for each fix on the phone. I was initially impressed, but kind of felt conned a bit with the last quotes. (Note- it was not the owner who quoted me those prices.) I just don't get how significant of a price difference it was between Sew Fit and the 2 other places I called. I'm a loyal customer, and do give my business to great places, and I was very happy with my dress that was fixed. But was disappointed with the sky high simple fixes that were quoted to me. As a sidenote, the place I ended up taking my clothes, to is a place I've taken them to many times. I had just wanted to branch out to check out other alteration places in my area. I know they provide quality work, but again wanted to try something new. And as for yelp reviews, to me, they are for not only services provided, but pricing as well for their items. I'm just giving my honest opinion Based on those things that I experienced. Also, I'm not looking for cheap work. Because I know that hard work has gone into alterations. First and last time to store. I requested a very simple waist and inseam alteration on a pair of jeans. I picked up the jeans and attempted to put them on two weeks later and the waist was over an inch too small! I went bank to the shop two weeks later and the "tailor" told me I took too long to bring them back, and that I should have returned 2 - 3 days after pick up. He then "graciously" offered to fix his error, at a cost of $30.00 more! I complained, but he said that if I wasn't satisfied to call the complaint phone number. I have been coming here for 2 years and never had an upsetting, distasteful, uncomfortable situation until now. I took my new pair of designer pants to get hemmed , I never wore them prior. I picked them up and they have a noticeable hole on the bottom by the hem area they did. They did not have the hole prior. I went back to tell about the hole they did. David, kept being defensive and said they didn't do the hole and that I did the hole. I kept telling them no I didn't do the hole and that I should get a partial refund or something . A job like that should prove facile to the professional tailor. The patches were seen in on schedule, perhaps early if I'm not mistaken, and the overall workmanship was satisfactory. What still stands out to me beyond the evident tailoring quality at this store is the congeniality that Nahid and Essie exude. The polite conversation the staff can carry out here impressed me a quite a bit. They handle the entire transaction with an exceedingly calm and reserved demeanor. Not only was the job done well - can't tell the repair work from the rest of the original stitching, but they fixed the other pocket, which was coming loose. What great customer service!
