Beautiful, peaceful place! Eunice and Bruce were excellent with my cat, Pepper, who does NOT like to be held. She can be sweet and funny, but definitely doesn't let me clip the nails or brush her for very long. Right from first contact, Eunice or Bruce were immediately attentive, answering all my texted questions two days before the appointment. They were the only ones who would take her. They only asked to see if she had been vaccinated with the rabies shot. Eunice did the grooming while Bruce held Pepper gently but firmly. It's a big room so you can see everything and comfort your cat. The office had all these adorable feline themed decorations. I plan to be a regular! The Kims are gentle and wonderful and their business deserves your attention if you need your cats fur tuned up. Cats are (mostly) not going to like being groomed. We have two long haired cats that we adopted as kittens last year that we just could not keep up with the mats. Looking around for options to get them groomed, the Yelp reviews for Happy Cat Grooming looked like a place worth a look. So off I went with our boy first, Scout, who was the calmest of the two. The pile of fur that came off him was really remarkable, and he really didn't get that upset. He looked great afterwards. Next was Yvaine, who we call Miss Bossypants because she has a lot of attitude. She complained more, but also left behind a giant pile of fur and came home sleek and refined. Owners are asked to stay as it helps the cats with the stress of the grooming. However, the kindness shown to our cats when they were being handled was just the icing on the cake. If there were any cat complaints, they were addressed with soft words and a pet on the head. They handled our cats carefully yet still got the job done. I cannot say enough nice things. Having only your cats in when being groomed reduces the stress of other animals being around. So happy I found them on Yelp! They're really experienced and have shown that they love what they do. My fiancé and I took our 3.5 year old Turkish Van cat for his first professional grooming session. They asked us how he is on the "spice" level, if he's pretty spicy or a little spicy, just so they know what temperament he has. I told them he's sweet, doesn't bite or scratch, just skittish, shy, & very vocal. I communicated to them of the type of grooming I wanted for him and they were very attentive. They actually asked us to be near our cat since it'll help him feel safer to see our faces during the process, which I found quite sweet. We were amazed by their teamwork and the step-by-step process they've perfected for each cat they see. It was almost like watching choreography, very interesting to witness. Best part is seeing how nice and patient they were with our boy. They talked to him kindly by giving him lots of compliments and love as they were washing and drying him. They even told me I was able to pet his head while they were shaving his little grinch paws and clipping his nails, just make sure to ask first when it is appropriate during the session :) Overall, it was a wonderful experience. The shop is clean and well kept. It is owned and operated by a sweet couple who have a love for fur babies and specialize in grooming cats. They made us feel at home and most importantly, cleaned our boy while making sure everyone is safe. Also, they have a little section with Korean cat products like skincare, clothing, & accessories you can purchase for your kitty. We picked out a quilted vest for our cat to help keep the conditioning in post-groom. He looked like a cute, little ajussi (middle-aged man) lol. We named him Sabre for his attitude. Just trying to brush him is nearly impossible. And, every morning, it's like walking through a minefield of white globs of fur. Last Summer, after cleaning up hairball vomit every morning, we decided he needed a cut. Eunice and her husband did an amazing job on my cat. I was actually quite embarrassed because my cat had pooped and pee on the brushing table, but they assured me it was only because he was scared. This was my cat's first time at a groomer so he wasn't used to being held down for his brush down like that. I usually am the one who grooms/bath him at home, but find it difficult now that I moved and the shower is only a standing with no tub or tub facet. I was also shocked at how spicy my cat was; I felt really really bad for the owners because he kept peeing and they had to continuously wipe him and their area clean. He usually tolerates a lot, but I can understand that he was scared and possibly stress during this situation, and went into complete fight mode. Nonetheless, they knew how to handle my cat and allowed me to also be present to help assure him he was fine. They also only take one cat at a time and the grooming is an open space so it's very encourage for the cat parents to be present (in case they may need you to help calm your cat). If you're looking for a cat groomer look no further. I absolutely love that they handle one cat at a time especially since our little guy, Tiggz, gets stressed out by loud noises and barking dogs. My baby is turning fourteen in a month and recently in the last several months when visiting home, I noticed her fur has been getting more matted as she has a harder time grooming her rear end and tail. I'm very glad I found Happy Cat Grooming because it is close, as Princess does not do well in cars. Upon seeing her condition, the Kims recommended that the fur be brushed and cut; initially they recommended that the fur be shaved, however Princess was too frail and scrawny for such a procedure. They were kind and gentle with her and I was impressed with how little Princess actually complained. After the brushing and a haircut to get rid of all the matted hair, they then gave Princess a bath, followed by an ear cleaning, until finally drying. I felt very calm stepping into the salon, they had relaxing music in the background and spoke gentle and sweet praises to my cat. I came in today for the shave package and she did an excellent job of doing a very smooth shave. No nicks or injuries. My cat doesn't usually allow people to hold her in place and will meow a lot, but she stayed so still and barely made a peep....I was so shocked. I could tell they know their way with kitties and were gentle because the grooming finished without him hissing or protesting (aside from talking a little during his bath).
