I had a really disappointing experience here and feel completely misled. Before coming in, I called to ask about the price for a nail trim and made sure to mention that my dog is large. I was told it would be $10-$15. When I arrived, the place looked clean and I even checked the price list posted in the waiting area, which also clearly said $10-$15 for nail trimming. However, after the service was done, I was charged $25. When I questioned it and explained that I had called ahead and specifically mentioned that my dog is large, the response I got was that they "didn't know he was that big." My dog is a large doodle -- not some unusually massive or rare breed -- and I had already made that clear over the phone. It's extremely frustrating to confirm pricing beforehand, see the same price advertised in the shop, and then be charged significantly more afterward with no real explanation. If the price depends on size, that should be clearly communicated upfront, especially when a customer takes the time to ask beforehand. This felt misleading and unprofessional. I left feeling like the pricing was not transparent and that my concerns were dismissed when I brought them up. Because of this experience, I will not be returning. read more

The groomers at OC Pawtastic were so sweet, patient, and kind to our (very loud) Samoyed when he came in for his first grooming session a week or two back. Due to his extensive needs, he was there for close to 7 hours. I believe they take walk-ins, but I just wanted to ensure they have a spot open for Ben. On the day of the appointment, my wife dropped off Ben and showed the groomer what kind of styling we wanted. We were told that since this is Ben's first time with a groomer, it's not for sure he will cooperate. Hence, he's never had a scissor cut or anything. I took my dog here because it was nearby and had fairly good reviews. The reservation time they gave me was on a Friday afternoon. My dog and I got there at exactly 12. I filled out a paperwork and the receptionist, Mae, along with another lady asked me how I'd like his cut to be. They asked so many questions about length and cut that I was getting confused myself. When we settled for a cut, they said it would take a minimum of 3 hours. Before I left, I asked her to take photos of the process along with the mud facial pic so I know if they actually did the service I paid for. She said they do and they actually text it. So that's good to know. After 2.5 hours, I get a call from them that my dog is ready. I got there within 20 minutes and I was surprised with what I saw. This is the reason why they lost 2 stars from me. This is something they need to improve on. My dog got out of the white gate and the receptionist didn't even notice it until I got there. I looked confused and I asked her if they normally made them wait there. She said no. She did apologize and said she should have kept her eyes on him. The customer that came in said he could've gotten out when she opened the gate, but I'm not sure why neither of them, most specially the receptionist, did not notice. I loved his cut. They did the cut perfectly. I'm pretty sure I will be back but will probably wait in the lobby to make sure it doesn't happen again. They only come here now! However, I now totally regret recommending Pawtastic. It had been awhile since we've been here so wanted to come back. We had an appointment, and we came in then they turned my dog away saying his fur is too tangled for a bath. I did tell the receptionist on the phone yesterday that he's extra fluffy! She said it was fine and that there may just be extra charges depending on his hair is matted. I brush him everyday to try to eliminate that as much as possible.
