Lemon blueberry gluten-free cake with pink frosting.

Ask my out-of-state sister to order a graduation cake for me that was gluten-free. We chose this bakery. I got lemon blueberry. The cake was dry and pancake like, not a single fresh blueberry. The cake topper also looked stupid on such a thin cake. For almost $70 I expected more...

I love this bakery! I have yet to eat any of their savory items, but their sweets are incredible. For my 30th birthday I ordered a custom cake in the Peach Lambic flavor - YUM! The tiramisu & yellow dragon are also delicious, as are all the other flavors. The cake is moist and the fillings are often very unique, which I appreciate. They also have seasonal flavors and offerings. Their Turkish coffee cookies are delicious - I lived in Israel for 2 years so I love anything that transports me back the Middle East. The peanut butter curry cookies are also incredibly unique. I highly recommend both!

I was traveling for work and found myself in Cincinnati, OH, where I'd be for Easter and my birthday, which was a week later. I had given up gluten and sweets for Easter so I was badly anticipating the consumption of both but had zero faith that I'd find anything suitable in Cincinnati. I threw caution to the wind and searched "vegan desserts" in Yelp, the day before Easter, and voila! I couldn't believe my eyes when this place came up. I was in so much disbelief that I called them to ask. Thank goodness they were open during COVID-19, but they were going to be closed on Easter Sunday, and I had like 20 minutes to get to them before they closed on Easter eve. I arrived in time and to my surprise they still had a few options left. I grabbed some cupcakes, fruit bars, and a colorful mini cake. The lady (possibly the owner) was very upbeat and happy. I love to see it! The strawberry lemon cupcake was perfection. Moist, light, and sweet. The fruit bar (I think it was apricot, but I can't recall) was also quite yummy. Unfortunately, I didn't really care for the vanilla lavender whole mini cake. Their vanilla cake is that old school, vegan of the 70s, beige, a little on the dry side, vanilla cake. If you know, you know. It's unfortunate because in today's world, so many vegan chefs have mastered the light and fluffy vanilla cake that can rival any non-vegan version (i.e. The Happy Bakery in OFallon, IL or Vegan Treats in Bethlehem, PA, to name a few.). I also think I'm just not a fan of the taste of lavender. The prices were very fair and the desserts were fresh. I only saw street parking so be prepared for that. Despite my disappointment with the vanilla cake, I am nonetheless happy this place exists and would love to return to try some of the other fruity or chocolate flavored cakes.

I'm the new biggest fan of Happy Chicks Bakery. I went there to search for their vegan options and was not disappointed. They have muffins, sandwiches, and donuts. My favorite was the carrot based muffin which (no exaggeration) was the best vegan muffin I've ever had. It was incredible. Service was quick. They don't have in door seating so everything has to be carried out.

Happy Chicks Bakery is great if you like baking or getting baked. It's located in the middle of a hipster neighborhood full of quirky characters. The bakery has many vegan items. It has bakery stuff like cakes or cupcakes. There's also a food menu. I had the Breakfast vegan sandwich on a biscuit. It's about $5, which is super cheap for something like this. The sandwich is made up of vegan cheese, tofu scramble, and a savory crumbly biscuit that tastes as good as any, and is much healthier for you. It also has a lunch menu featuring many vegan items. There's a sandwich with hummus among others. If you need vegan bakery items this is somewhere to look. It makes custom cakes for your parties. The store is open every day except Monday and is good for breakfast, lunch, or any time.

    Mocha & Peach Bourbon donut

I hate writing bad stuff about a vegan bakery because there is definitely a need for places like this, however I am posting this review just on the basis of what I had when I was there. I was going to a different place to try donuts and somehow just ended here due to the other bakery being closed. First off, the staff was very friendly and helpful. They were all very chipper and happy. I saw a sign showing that they had two donuts to offer that day and so my friend and I ordered one of each, which was a peach glazed donut & a mocha glazed donut. The other positive I had was that they really nailed the mocha glazed taste and I really enjoyed it. The downward spiral was that this wasn't a donut. It was croissant pastry in the form of a donut. I took one bite and the outside was very rough to bite into and the inside was very flakey, which is not the normal donut. The donut was barely edible in that state and the peach glazed that we had wasn't a prevalent flavor, unlike the mocha. Also, the donuts were super small, which might have been the reason it felt overbaked and rough to bite into. In my opinion, it wasn't worth the calories. Still, I'm sure a bunch of their other stuff is delicious, but the donuts here won't satisfy any cravings, in my opinion.

For Breast Cancer awareness month, they made nipple cookies and pancakes. Here are chocolate nipple pancakes.

Happy Chicks has had my heart since early 2018. The food is made from scratch, from cupcakes, croissants, cakes, and special little treats, not to mention their menu for breakfast/lunch (my go-to is the breakfast on a croissant) and they even have special treats for Sunday's! They get their ingredients locally. I know this business supports the community enormously. Not... to... mention... ALL VEGAN. The coffee is already available once you get there, and they even have the best-selling oat milk on their shelves as creamer for your coffee! The staff is attentive, personal, helpful and quick. Even on their busiest days, they always know who you are and what your order is. They personalize the experience. They're the ones who cook it, so they even have an extensive knowledge of what their food is and what the stand for. They remember you. They even have rewards for steady visitors!

I'm somewhat newly vegan and always searching out places with solid vegan food choices (no french fries as a meal for me!) Happy Chicks is a fully vegan establishment in Northside, but even omnivores will enjoy their food! I got the quiche and the empanada, and both were fantastic. However, my fiancé's breakfast sandwich on croissant was out of this world amazing! Easily the best croissant I've ever had. I can't wait to try the cupcakes we took home! I will be back, and probably soon!! Side note: the employees are super friendly and it's a very non-pretentious establishment :)

I also noticed that they are Black-owned,which is awesome to see. At the time, they had only been open for, I wanna say, two-ish weeks so my colleague and I decided to give it a go. The staff was eager to greet us and we got a seat right away. The space itself is magnificent. The bright bursts of color caught my attention first. It's definitely a vibrant space, modern, trendy, photogenic, fun, and creative. You got to check out the bathrooms - so cool! From what I gathered, the owner helped design it himself. The service is what stood out next. Everyone was so friendly, the chef and owner came to our table to check in, which is always a nice touch. As for food, I was only in for a quick bite so I went with the kale caesar salad and a side of truffle fries. I love me a good kale caesar and that definitely hit the spot. The only con with the food was that the serving sizes were rather small for the price. I believe this spot turns into a nightlife experience in the evenings. They have a full bar and even a DJ booth. I would no doubt visit again in the evening. It's great for a date night or evening with friends. Overall, I hope they succeed and recommend you give them a try, even if you don't like vegan food.

Both my server and manager were so engaging and friendly, it didn't feel like I was dining alone. The space itself definitely doesn't make it feel like you're in Cincy- very warm and inviting. I settled on the cornbread, which is a menu staple. The butter on top felt so decadent and the cornbread itself was very savory. For my entree, I chose the jollof and the veggie selection for the evening which was grilled okra with a banana gastrique. That alone felt so cool, I had to order it. The jollof was so good, so filling, perfectly spiced and Chef actually broke it down for me all the spices he used to capture that flavor. Through all of our visits, we've had some truly wonderful meals, but this one may have been the top! We were immediately greeted at the door by Kristen who welcomed us back and showed is to our preferred table. Shortly after, Henry introduced himself as our server. Having already previewed the just dropped summer menu, we had a pretty good idea what we wanted. Henry shared some specials and we got to to ordering. The tuna appetizer was a great start. Three different cuts of tuna with a peach and oil sauce. The fish was amazing with the slight peach flavor amping it up a notch. Great start. Next we had the pork belly skewer. The pork belly was grilled with a drizzle of Alabama bbq. The pork belly was so tender and flavorful. Again, plenty of smiles to go around. For the main course, we shared the fish and iberico mains. The fish this night was swordfish which was so flavorful and moist. The iberico was tender and, for me, the corn maque choux made the dish. I could have eaten a big bowl of that goodness! Though we dont normally order desert, we did get to peach skillet cobbler. A perfect light tasty finish to the meal. Throughout the evening, Henry was the perfect server, happy to share his observations and always with a smile. Love when we get a minute with Chef Jeff as well. So glad we got to experience this menu so early. We well for sure be back before the next seasonal switch.
