I'm hoping things improve as they get settled in their new space. I ordered a power protein bowl that with tax and tip came out to $17 and it took over 10 mins to make because they had to go fetch frozen bananas from an alternate location. I was there at 8:30am and would assume they would have been stocked for the day. The bowl was delicious but not sure if the pricing and wait fits the area especially for those trying to get something quick on their way in to work. I hope things improve soon! I came after a workout class for a smoothie. The flavor itself was good but the smoothie was quite expensive for what you get. I waited about 10mins for my smoothie which felt like a long time since there were only a few other people there. I would also recommend them getting better straws. The straw I had was not big enough to get the smoothie through and would clog a lot. I would personally go else wear for a smoothie. read more

After finishing up a workout class, and watching people run faster than you, sometimes you feel like rewarding yourself with a smoothie. I swung by Rooted on a Saturday morning. I parked I. The subway parking lot and despite the signs, was not towed. I ordered the Protein Punch smoothie ($10.50) for myself and the Fountain of Youth ($11) for my girlfriend. I was between the Fountain of Youth and the Strawberry Fields but the worker preferred the Fountain of Youth. I appreciated their honesty. Both smoothies were good but I preferred the Fountain of Youth. I enjoyed the Rooted aesthetic. Their merch was really cool. I will come back. this is my first experience having a strawberry matcha made by someone else that blew me away. truly delicious!

I used to love this place! I want to still love it but it's becoming increasingly harder to do so. Over the summer of 2022 my husband and I went and noticed the portion sizes were much smaller than what they used to be. Food was still good but we left hungry still on food that used to make us satisfied. After our previous bad experience we decided to go again today. We both ordered our own quesadillas to go. When we got home we noticed they no longer come with the cup of delicious pico de gallo :( It also doesn't come with the avocado crema but instead just mashed up bland avocado. The only thing that remains the same with the sauces was the cashew cheese. The quesadillas had very minimal filling which was incredibly disappointing (see photos). They also just seemed more bland. Honestly it felt like something I could make myself at home. Despite the fact that the portion sizes are smaller, food is more bland, and there is no more pico de gallo they increased their prices! The quesadilla used to be $11 and has now increased to $13. I totally understand that things are going up in price and that's ok. What's not right is that portions are smaller and the price still went up. The website also needs to be updated as it's still showing the old prices and descriptions. This is all so sad to me- I used to love this place but now I just can't seem to justify going back and telling everyone about it. read more

I love Rooted! They have so many things to offer besides just smoothies. Their food menu is excellent. The zucchini pad thai is my favorite, but the charcoal bagel and cream cheese is also delicious. For sweets, I love the vegan key lime pie and cookie dough truffles! My mom is currently on a mostly raw diet, and it's hard to find places where she can eat with that dietary restriction. Rooted makes that pretty easy with their variety of options that are raw or mostly raw. You can even buy vegan charcuterie here when it is in stock, which I think is super cool! It is expensive, because they use high quality stuff and they actually take the time to make it by hand. I don't live in Cincinnati, but I always make it a point to stop at Rooted anytime I'm driving through the area. This past weekend was my 4th or 5th time, and each time it's more worth the stop out of my way. The caramel bars are an old favorite, but this time they didn't have them so I got a brownie bar and a twicks, loved them both! Also got a vitality shot (the one with turmeric, ginger, and cayenne) and it was intense, but needed. In the past I've also tried a bagel with cashew cream cheese and their sweet potato quesadilla. I just know every time I go here I'm going to leave satisfied and filled with joy from a delicious meal. I can only keep dreaming for a place like this near me. If one day I end up living in Cinci, Rooted will be at least a large part of the magnet that pulled me there. read more

First impressions when walking in: cool, relaxed vibe. Nice and clean. On closer inspection, the table was wobbly and the inside could use a fresh coat of paint. BUT...the food was great. My wife had the pad thai, which was delicious. I had the burrito which was a tiny bit too sweet but the veggies were fresh and crisp. The walnut "meat" had good flavor and I enjoyed it. Rooted is a small chain, but I'm glad they have an instance on little Oakley Square. They have a mix of healthy bowls and juice drinks. Alongside that are packaged drinks, takeaway food, and cosmetics. The staff is present. Order at the counter and they bring it to you. They have a busing station with several disposal/recycling categories. More than most places! I've had several of their bowls and juice drinks. They are my go-to in the East neighborhoods. Cincinnati is in the early start of a food renaissance, especially OTR. Rooted is part of that. Areas for improvement: less plastic, more washing durable dishes and glasses. Juice recipes with less sugar. On plastic, Cincinnati doesn't yet understand the plastic coasts see on the beaches and fish are eating. Perfect post-yoga relax or a healthy date. I want to love this place but... so first of all it is super cute! The vibe of the store is amazing. They nailed that. I also love the products they offer in the fridge- vybes and Recess for example. And the store is clean. I have gone maybe 8 times and 4 of them weren't great experiences. One time they just forgot to make my matcha. Another they didn't ring in my food item at all even though I was asked clarifying questions like what kind of bagel. The food item was 70% of our convo (I bought a bunch of other stuff so the price was high enough I figured the food was on there). It really wasted my time... they tend to take a bit so the time waiting wasn't a red flag based on past visits. Another time the matcha drink I always get was like $3 more than usual even though I always get it the same. And another my carrot lox was so skimpy I couldn't believe it. I used to use this place as a Saturday treat yourself thing since it is a tad pricy for my budget but now it's not worth it. read more

I was initially excited to try this place because a friend of mine told me that they had gluten free (GF) twix bars!!! Unfortunately, I'm also dairy free as well, which they were not (sad face). HOWEVER, I came away with so many other goodies from their sweets section. Anytime I can find GF & DF sweets, I am ALL about it. Especially when they make snickers bars, pop tarts, samoas, peppermint patties...I mean, come on now...not a lot of people make those in a GF&DF form. And although the samoa didn't taste anything like a girl scout cookie samoa, I still found it yummy. My favorite was the peppermint patty. SO MINTY!!! I also ordered a green goddess bowl. I just had food poisoning from this place. This is my first time going to this place, and I was very very excited to have found a place that has food that fits my complex diet. They've always been accommodating regarding any allergies/sensitivities and can adjust as needed. The smoothies are good, though not sure the price is justified, but I've still enjoyed a few of them. The Acai bowl is doing all the work here! I stopped by this morning for what I hoped was a fresh carrot orange juice or something but was surprised to see just a fridge of bottled juice. That's my bad. But I was happy they had acai bowls, something I loved in college. Their bowl was beautifully plated and the acai tasted as I expected. What a treat! The star off is for the service, which I found surprisingly poor. The staff person corrected me when I ordered an acai bowl, its berry acai bowl, which I don't know if I annoyed her or if she was already annoyed about something, which we all have those days. I was just really turned off when I returned to the counter after checking in on yelp and seeing there was a 10% off incentive on any juice. I grabbed a juice and said, hey I just checked in on yelp and this popped up. She replied with basically we aren't doing that or my manager would have told me. I thought to double check the store since maybe I got the name wrong. She confirmed but acted like I was arguing. I clarified I don't need the juice or the 10% but that the company may want to be aware this discount is being offered online if they don't intend to honor it. So hopefully this review helps that. I did appreciate their covid practices- no dine in, masks required, plexiglass barrier. I don't think I'll be returning though. read more

I was really excited to try this restaurant. It's been on my list for a long time. I knew it was a place I could eat almost anything and, man, when you have food intolerances/allergies, that is just about the most exciting thing in the world. This location has the clean, white decor that is basically the calling card of restaurants that are all about clean eating. To order you go to the front counter and tell them what you would like. The ladies working there were all very nice and helpful. The menu is clearly labeled. Even the baked goods in the case are clearly labeled with gluten-free. I had the Bombay bowl and a detox tea. The Bombay bowl was quite good but it didn't knock off my socks. The detox tea was fairly tasteless. Maybe all tea is, though. I am excited to try other things on the menu. I really liked the vegan ricotta. It looks more like a swirl than actual ricotta but tasted really good. The thing that really put this place into four stars, possibly even five stars were the desserts. If you don't eat dairy and are gluten-free, desserts are so hard to come by. I indulged myself. I had three. I had the Snickers, the Samoa, and some rectangular thing. The snickers was my favorite. It was salty and sweet and perfect. I could eat them all day. I wish they had some sort of dessert sampler or a special price for buying multiples. A frequent buyer card? My major complaint about this place is the same thing everybody says. It's expensive. Especially if you get smoothies. The thing is that all this kind of food costs a lot. I know this from trying to cook things myself. I can't imagine it's actually that overpriced for what it is. You know, I think a while ago I would have turned my nose up at the idea of paying $10 for a breakfast smoothie. As someone who makes smoothies (of a much lower quality) at home on a daily basis, I can tell you that smoothie making can be a pretty expensive venture if you're using fresh ingredients. The smoothies at Rooted are delicious. My favorite is the "monkey business" smoothie. Even more than their downtown location, this Rooted Juicery has a super friendly and welcoming staff. I was warmly greeted when I entered prior to the 8am hour (if you're already friendly at that time...blessings, kind soul). Rooted is definitely a high-end boutique smoothie shop and while I couldn't afford to buy my smoothie here every day, I'm super grateful that they're here for when I can treat myself! read more

Want to feel like you are in Miami (Florida not Oxford), step into this juice haven in Oakley. The place itself is clean (much like your intestines might be after a few of their nutritious juices). A few small tables and two long counters along the huge windows make for plenty of seating even when it's busy. While I would say the prices are high, they have a great assortment of smoothies, vegan refrigerated foods like Thai salad, macaroni and cheez (non dairy, obs), pesto zucchini noodles, etc. Or you can order from their menu which also has a lot of great options; one of my favorite being the quesadilla because it's huge and has yummy sauces, sweet potato and black beans. What's not to love? Their açaí bowl is also delicious though I do wish they would put more banana and granola in there so I'm not eating a açaí soup at the end. Lastly, they have adorable and yummy baked goods like macaroons, samoas (Girl Scouts, better check out your competition), blueberry muffins and something with lavender...maybe a lemon lavender cookie? Not sure. If you are in need of other eco-friendly but not necessarily edible products, they sell metal straws, monk oil and other things like tea. All in all, I love this place but make sure you have an abundant pocketbook if you're going to make this part of your healthy lifestyle. read more

This place has good food, I enjoy the burrito a lot with the side of vegan bbq sauce. The juices are extremely healthy and great for detox. The store was clean and well kept. Employees were nice. The food is a bit pricy so I am strategic in how I order and don't add sides because price adds up quickly. I would have given this restaurant a 4/5 but they need to calm down a bit with the whole face mask situation. I have a letter from my primary care physician that I am exempt under the law from wearing one and they insist that I order curbside which is inconvenient/having to call ahead & give my vehicle description. Parking on the street or in the parking lot behind. Nice open location. Not a ton of space, but seemed to be plenty for the full crowd there at noon. Great service at the register and serving food. I chose the avocado heirloom toast and a cup of tomato soup. They said 15 minutes but I'm pretty sure they were way faster. So, the avocado toast is not a utensil item. Pick it up and eat it up. Delicious. The tomato soup was nice and thick, very flavorful. The croutons were excellent as well. I didn't pick up any of the delicious looking sweets in the case, but I did try a sample of a brownie of some sort...delicious!
