Got the ABJ smoothie and Tropics smoothie. They were $8 each and not bad for their quality. They were just a tad bit mediocre and a little over my budget for a smoothie. The aesthetic of the facility was nice. The worker was super nice. However, they were the only one behind the counter taking orders AND having to make drinks. There were a lot of people waiting and drinks to be made. I felt a little bad for them but they pushed through!!! read more

I got the Acai bowl and it was what I look for in an acai bowl! I saw them put all the fresh fruits and veggies in the blender - at some places I wonder what's in the blended base mix - but no question that the base is filled with fresh fruit and spinach. Toppings were good and I was happy with how my food tasted and how I felt about eating the food. read more

I really enjoyed this place. The smoothie was good and so was the juice. Whoever got the genius idea to add pineapple to a PB&J smoothie needs a high five. I was way nervous but it was incredible. There's only a small bench inside for seating but it was a nice place to start my morning. read more

What a wonderful addition to the neighborhood ! On my daily walks, I like to support the local businesses, so I will make time to visit, but more importantly purchase from said businesses. I really feel this business is much needed and fills a void for healthier smoothies and açaí bowls to go. I am not a vegan, but hey, I like to eat healthy stuff too. So, what I had so far and love is the Ritual smoothie, this has coffee in it and I love coffee, so this is my go to, I just wish they had more coffee options. The Date shake smoothie is my fave, I do add almond butter to it and it becomes the perfect smoothie. I also had the Beaumont smoothie as well, it is lighter on the sugar and is silky and a great start to a active day, or not. All and all, I love this little corner smoothie shop, can't wait till they add more options to their menu. read more

I appreciate how Happy Day lists the ingredients of their products on the website & indicates dietary preferences. The inside of the shop was aesthetically pleasing & clean, & they offer online ordering for pick up. They don't serve espresso drinks, but there are plenty of nearby coffee shops. First...Seattle and Portland are sooooo different, so very different, vibes are different, energy is different, everything...and I don't really like it. But one thing that sticks with me about Portland are the different styles. And I say that to say this.....I loved the inside of this establishment, the decor, the setup, the menu, it was all aesthetically pleasing. I ordered the sweet greens and can say that it was exceptionally fresh and they even added ice which is something most juice bars don't do when they make fresh juice. I would say the time frame to make the juice was reasonable, the price was reasonable and the menu for juice options was short and simple. I wasn't too thrilled with the employees interactions with customers. That's the 1 and only thing. And yes, I would give them another try! read more

Spent last year living on the New Jersey shore where Playa Bowls is THE açaí bowls along the ocean and I have to say these bowls brought me back to last summer living on the Atlantic ocean. Really yummy açaí bowls. I got the Fremont bowl and my hubby got the dragon fruit (pink) smoothie. Both were delicious !! They are only doing a take out window with outdoor limited seating for covid. Contactless payment and lots of bowl and smoothie choices. I loved the granola and the fruit was so fresh and delicious. Note that the pink smoothie is very strong in the pineapple department. At first glance, this place is beautiful. The big windows and bright pops of color are easy on the eyes. Board and card games and free WiFi are available for customer use. Artwork hangs on the walls for sale. There are juices, smoothies, smoothie bowls, waffles, toasts, and drinks galore. Many juice places I go to have very limited seating, but this one has plenty of room, especially since it doesn't seem to be very well known yet (based off of the amount of Yelp reviews and lack of menu photos). The location is great and boasts free parking all around. I've only tried the avocado toast so far which is a reasonable price (in comparison to other places that serve it, we all know every place in Portland overcharges for something as simple as avocado toast, yet I'm still drawn to it). The avocado toast here is delicious and most importantly the bread isn't over toasted and difficult to bite through. I'll be back to try their smoothies soon. read more

We ordered to go items on our way to the airport (10 min drive) You can order ahead - they will put your items in the freezer if they are ready in advance. We shared the best toast ( all items are GF) and it was simply delicious. The "cashew cheese" really made it and the touch of nooch & paprika really balanced the toast out The GF bread was awesome - some of the best we have had and looked homemade , so assumed they used a local baker! The smoothie bowl we shared was great - it had matcha, mango and greens and was topped with a sweeter cashew cream. Such a cute shop! First heard about it from a few friends who did events here. Stopped in after craving a green juice last Saturday. Was hoping to grab glass jars to go, but they were out so we ordered fresh ones. The wait took at least 10-15 minutes, it was busy but only two parties of two were before us. I'd recommend going when you're not in a rush. Loved our juices, we'll be back when we have more time to hang out next time. read more

I was originally headed and wanted to come back. It was lunchtime and they had open sitting and I noticed the hockey game was on all the TV screens. There was open seating. The bartender took my order at my table. I decided to get the barbecue chicken calzone and the garlic fries. The barbecue chicken calzone came with pulled chicken cheddar cheese, onions and barbecue sauce. The barbecue sauce was perfect sweet spicy Tan. Everything you want and a great barbecue sauce. I did ask for marinara because there were some sides of the bread on the calzone that I dipped in the pizza sauce.. perfect! I told the bartender what I'd like to drink, and he made some concoction a.k.a. his own version with ginger, beer and whiskey. The calzone was great. The fries were amazing. My beverage was perfect and right on time. Nice hometown feel local sports vibe, the USA Olympic team had just won gold in women's ice hockey. This may be a must-stop next time I'm in Portland.

I told hubby, "I'm going to the restroom to wash my hands, and if she's not back to take our order, by then, we're leaving!" A lady tried the door to the restroom, and she thought someone was inside. We stood in line, waiting for her to come out. Then, our waitress said something, to turn the handle, it's just stuck (I'm not sure, something like that), so the lady in front of me, tried it harder, and the door opened. I only went there to wash my hands, then, I heard METAL DROPPED on the floor! That's what it sounded like. She was only closing her stall door, but it was so loud, metal to metal, it wasn't closing smoothly, but very noisy, that it startled me! I didn't like using the drying machine, I looked for a paper towel dispenser, there was none. I'm supposed to touch the dirty doorknob, with my clean & drippy hands? I used my skirt, to dry my hands, and the back of my fingers to turn the knob, as I said earlier, it was hard to turned the handle, hurting my knuckle right index finger. I was using the cold water plastic container, that the waitress brought in, so I don't bruise. The pizza we ordered: Mr Toad's Wild Ride, she throw in handmade pub meatballs, was very, very good! I saved one slice for my lunch tomorrow. Our waitress was very helpful! Once again, waiting for our receipt took another long wait, it was crowded, because of the game, I also thought to surprise our oldest son's big 5 - 0 birthday in a few weeks, but after the negatives above, and it can get very noisy . . . I decided to have it at a park somewhere.

Luckily, another server took over from there and we had a pleasant anniversary meal the rest of the time! Here's everything we tried: Devilish Eggs - This came with 4 deviled eggs and was just okay. The crispy bacon pieces was the best part of this dish! Steak Tartare - This was the main reason we chose this restaurant and we were definitely not disappointed! We spent our first anniversary together in Europe and had so much tartare and this really brought back some wonderful memories for us. The tartare was rich and mustardy, beef flavor was great, and it sort of just melted in your mouth. The crispy chips paired well with the tartare and I can't wait to come back and have this again! Mussels - This was a big bowl of mussels in a white wine garlic sauce with toasted baguettes. Mussels tasted fresh and garlicky with just a bit of funk from whatever cheese they grated on top. The toasted baguettes were so good dipped into that white wine broth. I wish this dish came with skinny fries but it was also so good as is. Would definitely order this again! Field Greens - I asked for this to come out with my meal but it came out about 10 minutes before the entrees came out. It was very light and refreshing. I saved half to have with my meal but most of it was wilted already by the time our mains came out. But it's okay! The fried chicken actually had a small portion of this salad on its plate. I wouldn't have ordered this had I known, so next time will skip the side salad altogether! Fried chicken - I really wanted to like this dish but alas, fried chicken breast is very hard to make juicy. I definitely prefer dark meat because that's harder to mess up. My partner enjoyed it but he doesn't mind dry chicken. The sauces were phenomenal! That mustard sauce was great and the sweet glaze was delicious! The potatoes would have been a lot better if they were smaller to get more of that crust to creamy potato ratio but still okay the way it was. My fiance cleaned this plate up! Brown Butter Cake - This cake was phenomenal! It's hard to mess anything with Brown Butter up so I had really high expectations for this and they certainly did not disappoint. The server was nice enough to throw candles on it since we were celebrating and it really ended our meal on the sweetest note! The restaurant itself is small and cozy. A bit dark and romantic. It really reminded me of the small bistros in France that we frequented while we were out there. We'll definitely be back to try other things on the menu!

Also I will say this: Pip's offers a free birthday dozen, which is incredibly generous gift. My birthday falls around the holidays so I usually can't make it in, but I want to be clear that I have absolutely zero complaints about that. Portland trip pt II featuring Pip's…read more Boyfriend and I visited Pip's before our flight back to LA. We've had pretty much every popular sugary and carby donut that Portland has to offer. A friend of mine recommended Pip's for their bite sized donuts and chai. We came at a right time by waking up early enough to beat the crowd. Service was pretty solid here and the menu is easy to read. Upon seating, they made a whoopsie by giving me a heated chai, but I can overlook that since they gave us an extra donut :) We got brownie butter, cinnamon sugar, and raw honey + salt to share. I got the King and I (made dirty) for my own because I love pandan. They put a lot of care into their product and it definitely shows. Chai was spectacular and donuts were delicious. I'm returning!
