What an awesome place in Portland. For all the Vegan and Gluten Free fans. This place offers so many variety of pastries, cakes, breads, dips and more. We bought a Focaccia, Bagels and a few pastries. They even have discounts for one day old breads besides the fresh bread of the day. This a paradise of goodies. Prices are expected between 4.75 per pastry up to $10 for a fresh pack of bagels. Everything was delicious and didn't feel like gluten free. Parking is a little tricky though because it is located in downtown Portland so only street parking. Service was normal nothing above and beyond but ok. It has a few tables to sit but no customer restroom.

    Gluten-free & Vegan Focaccia - so tender & delicious.

Time for a review update to up them a star! We've visited them several times & also regularly get their gluten-free baked goodies at New Seasons. Everything is delicious! It's nice that in addition to being all gluten-free, they have some options that are also vegan. The staff are really friendly & helpful. And they do special menus for various holidays that you can preorder. Most recent we tried their special dozen donuts for National Donut Day, and they were super scrummy! They don't regularly make donuts, so that was an extra-special treat and worth preordering.

Chocolate chip cookie was perfect and so was the hazelnut chocolate roll. My earl gray tea was delicious. I probably would pass on the cinnamon roll next time since the icing was not my favorite (not a fan of cream cheese) but the roll itself was incredibly fluffy.

Dedicated gf bakery. So good! Wide variety of baked goods. We got the blueberry coffee cake, chocolate chip scone, broccoli quiche, and a southwest vegan tart. Everything we tried was delicious.

The texture of pastries was nice - tried the pumpkin roll - while the taste and texture were good unfortunately we won't come back because of the quality of ingredients... gums, not organic, not local - if this changes we'll be back. They were nice and friendly.

This is my favorite gluten free bakery in Portland. Not only are the treats delicious, the staff is very friendly and while small the shop is a vibe. It's close to downtown but just far enough out of the center. My favorites are the cinnamon rolls and savory scones. I also appreciate how there are options for dairy free, vegan etc.

(APRIL 2024) My friend ordered a cake from here for our friend whose birthday we were celebrating. The pick up was seamless and the cake was immaculate considering it was gluten free. I'd definitely return!

Walking in less than an hour before closing, we were surprised to see most of the items still in stock! We ended up picking four things to try: Vanilla Bean Kouign Amann ($7) - This pasty has a sweet yet salty exterior that's complementary in flavor rather than clashing. It's accentuated with a crunchy glazed and caramelized sugar layer that's on the sweeter side. The interior is interesting. There's a cavernous gap right in the center that's filled with a sickly sweet melted sugar syrup. It's unpleasantly sweet and very cloying. The puffed and filled area is large enough that it compresses the other layers so the kouign amann is dense. I've never had a kouign amann quite this sweet before. (3/5) Meyer Lemon Olive Oil Cake with Thyme ($5.50) - This cake is so moist and rich, thick and dense, fatty and rich, that it feels like I"m eating a slab of butter. I'm sure it has just as many calories too! It's quite sweet, although not nearly to the level of the kouign amann. Overall, it's just a really rich and decadent cake. (4/5) Blueberry + Vanilla Cream Brioche Donut w/ Earl Grey ($6) - The top of the pastry is dressed with a cream that has an unmistakably strong bergomot earl grey taste. I wish there was way more cream - there's essentially only a dab on top! The rest of the donut is filled with a custardy light blueberry and vanilla jam. It's not too sweet and has an excellent high quality blueberry fragrance, creating an exceptionally strong blueberry taste. The jam is not too thick and is somewhat syrupy from sugar. The donut itself is really soft and extremely airy. It's the fluffiest donut I've eaten in a long time. (5/5) Raspberry Rose Cruffin ($8.50) - This pastry has some fun dehydrated raspberries sprinkled right on top of a light and fluffy cream that's not too sweet. The cruffin base is buttery in taste and great lamination even when filled with the custard and rose/raspberry cream. This is a heavy cruffin that's very filling. (5/5) Twisted Croissant certainly does some some really delectable treats. It's one of my favorite bakeries in Portland!

Crispy, airy, buttery and oh, so delicate, my raspberry cruffin was the dessert dreams are made of! If you've never had a cruffin... what are you waiting for?! It's croissant dough baked into a muffin shape. And the particular version I ordered today was filled with sweet and creamy vanilla custard and raspberry jelly. My mouth is watering describing this now, a true sign I'll be returning to experience this delicacy time and time again. There are three locations of Twisted Croissant in Portland, and this is the only one I've visited. The interior has a classic Parisian bakery vibe, clad in white subway tile from floor to ceiling. The bakery case in front of the store is beautifully stocked with fresh pastries, perfect for enjoying with a cup of coffee or tea. However, be advised, there are only two tables in the back of their public space, so it's not particularly inviting space to sit and enjoy your breakfast. Given the location, I assume there is outdoor seating in the summer months, but don't quote me on that. Regardless, run here if you haven't been. These baked goods are worth the visit!

Their pie crust looks like it would be thick and hard, but it is actually quite thin and flaky! If that isn't heaven what is? Oh yeah don't have single pic to share as I have inhaled both individual slices and whole pies when I have received them. I cannot imagine anyone who has the self control to wait on their dessert long enough to snap a pic. If you do props to you for your impulse control. It felt incredibly personal for a once a year occasion and it didn't look like one of those generic cakes you can get anywhere. The cake itself was scrumptious.
