If you still enjoy dining with an air of cigarette smoke in your non-smoking section seating, then this is the place for you. The more places that offer smoke-free dining the less and less tolerant I am of places that still support the cancer industry. Average diner fare. We had breakfast selections that were OK. Their hash browns were simple sliced potatoes, fried, that had no flavor (no apparent onions or spices mixed in) and were not cooked long enough. Pretty bland. Our waiter did turn the smoke fan/filter on after we asked about the wafts of smoke that came with him every time he approached from the smoking section. My love and I went to dinner last night. Food took a while but was good. After the food arrived we noticed a man staring at us. My love was upset about this and when the check arrived my love asked the waiter who he is. He was told the person staring is the cook. My love expressed his displeasure to the waiter at us being stared at. The waiter apologized and asked if this would keep us from coming back. When my love said no he called us gentlemen. An older gentleman who looked like he is the owner was beside the waiter and just glared at us. LGBTQ Not Welcome should be on the font door. read more

I've grown up coming to Happy Days.... came here after prom in high school.... came here with friends when we had nothing else to do.... still come here when I'm craving an omelet and homefries for dinner sometimes (random I know). A little while ago, Happy Days pared down their menu, by a lot. Since then, the quality of the food has gone way up! In fact, they are now a standby for us on nights when I don't feel like cooking, and I often meet up with friends here for breakfast. The reuben sandwich is by far my favorite item on the menu. I also like their lunch specials - they are a good deal. Their soups are often good, and the service is usually good - occasionally you get a old-school waitress who doesn't want to deal with you, but maybe that's part of the charm of a diner, haha. Very pleased with finding this diner! Very clean old school chrome building. Have never had to wait to dine and as it's always full when we go, that's saying something! Haven't had a bad meal or experience yet. Has a great breakfast buffet on the weekends... I know what you're saying... "it's got low grade pancakes and powdered eggs..." I used to like Happy Days until my experience tonight. I came with my friends and their children and we are not having a good time. The waitress is not friendly and did not get our order correct. I asked her if we could substitute my wife's eggs for hash browns and she said she would check. I called her over ten minutes later because she never came back and she told me they couldn't substitute the eggs so she just added an order of hash browns extra without asking. Who does that without asking? Luckily I am in a good mood or else I would have left. They also messed my friends meal up as well. She wanted her chipped beef and her potatoes separate because she doesn't eat them together. When they brought the food out they didn't separate it and she had to send it back. When they brought her food back out, they didn't make her food over again they just put it on two separate plates. Needless to say, she found potatoes in her chipped beef. She had to send her food back because she became so frustrated. Definitely not the best tonight. I will think twice before coming back here. read more

Food is so-so, but the hours make up for it. Open 24/7, seating is pretty much instant, and it has everything you want after a night out or whatever. Sundays and what not are pretty much packed to full capacity in the morning with families, church people, etc, but I usually go late night or whenever and don't have a problem getting breakfast whenever I'm in the mood for it. Service can be a little wonky, but it is one of the few options in the D-town area to get an omelet at 3AM. read more

1st time won't be the last. Stopped in for dinner after some shopping. The food and service was very good. My only complaint was I had ordered a Rueben, the bottom piece of bread was a little soggy from the sauerkraut. It was traditionally assembled, but I find if the sauerkraut is in the middle of cheese and corned beef the bread doesn't get soggy as it's grilled. Other than, great flavor, nice fresh sauerkraut. Fries were crisp and hot. My wife had a waffle and bacon served with warm maple syrup. Most impressive, the restroom was the cleanest diner (an most restaurants) restroom I've seen. My wife and I went to have breakfast here and found it to be alright. As others have said just average. We both had eggs, scrapple and some fried potatoes. All were not very flavorful but well prepared. But it is what you would expect from diner food. With salt pepper and a little ketchup the meal was as good as most diners I have eaten at. Waitress was pleasant and helpful. I would go again for the proximity to home and price. read more

My granddaughter LOVES to come here - all the servers know her (she's 11 years old and has been coming here with family since she was a toddler). Walked in, didn't wait long until we were seated. Our waitress, Jessica came over quickly and took our drink orders. Boneless wings were good, tastes like Applebees! Their menu selection is HUGE...lots to choose from..prices are reasonable for a diner. The place itself is pretty big and booths are roomy. The decor is 50's style. Their food portions are HUGE. The lights of the building drew my wife and I in like moths to a flame. The diner ambience was thoroughly entertaining with neon and chrome accents. The menu offered classier diner fare such as actual dinners and paninis as well as burgers with fries. The prices were fair enough. Our server was Jessyca, and she was delightful and accommodating, and made our dining experience enjoyable. I had the patty melt (chicken substituted in place of burger), and it was delicious. The fries were done perfectly, and the coleslaw tasted as coleslaw should. :-) We're not from the area, but we would have no problem dining here again if we were around. read more

Worst experience I've ever had at a diner . They managed to screw up grilled cheese and did not serve Mac and cheese . The coffee was burnt , the water was metallic tasting, the silverware was not clean and the waitress was apparently on a date in a booth a few over from ours and completely inattentive. My best friend was a waitress and I always tip well , but the lacking service , unapologetic management and piss poor excuse to have a blindingly shiny building menu will prevent me from giving them a fourth chance . I have tried them 3 times in 4 years only to be continually disappointed . Never again . read more

I've eaten here a few times and have been more than satisfied every time. The restaraunt is clean, the staff is friendly, and the food is hearty. The restaraunt is spacious so you won't feel crammed in. I can't comment on dinner since I have only eaten lunch and breakfast. What to try... I really enjoyed the homemade soup. So they have a special on Fridays called Mac n Crab. It's Mac n cheese with two "Chesapeake" crab cakes and stewed tomatoes. Being a Baltimorian I had to get it. Very disappointing. Mac n cheese was too bland and crabs lacked the one thing that would have made Chesapeake... Old Bay seasoning. At least my tomatoes were good. read more

Happy Days is a definite go-to place for a friendly family atmosphere and typical diner food. The food is truly hit and miss. They have everything from a French Onion Soup that is among the best I've ever had (so rich and full of flavor) to a Broiled Seafood Platter that, although cooked properly, was so lacking in any discernible seasoning that only fresh lemon and tartar sauce saved it from being a disaster. The exception to that is the crab cake, which was filled to the brim with large chunks of fresh crab meat and seasoned perfectly fine. Other members of my party found that their meals also contained everything from very good items and an occasional not so good item. We all finished our meals with a different type of cake and were all quite pleased with the moistness and flavor of them. Prices are reasonable for the amount of food received (I was able to take half of my meal home for a second meal the next day). I am looking forward to another visit so that I can try out other items on the menu, but the one thing I won't miss out on ordering again is that deeelicious French Onion Soup. This is my second review based on a repeat visit 6 weeks later. This time around I took a friend with me who is visiting from Australia. Our experience was one of the best we've had in a diner. Our waitress was excellent with both her attitude and attention. We both ordered the Happy Days Burger and were totally satisfied in every way with our meal. The huge, juicy, and tasty burgers were more than enough for a second meal and were loaded to the gills with every thing promised. The fries were crisp on the outside and tender inside, along with being piping hot. The onion rings were even better. The small cup of cole slaw was a little dry for my taste, but that is a very minor quibble. Prices are more than fair. The only thing I haven't tried was something from the breakfast menu. That will have to come next time, and there will be a next time. This is the go-to place for those times when you are in the mood for really good diner food. read more
