As another reviewer has said, this shop owner doesn't stand behind what they sell. Purchased a product from their website. Reviewed the return policy ahead of time, because you know, it's 2026 and customer service is paramount when ordering expensive things online. However the item delivered was not of the "custom" quality described on the website. As a matter of fact, the item pattern matched the images on the website to a T... so clearly not custom. Not only was it not custom, the design printout was of low quality and looked cheap. When an item is not custom and of low quality, it doesn't warrant a custom price tag. I engaged owner for a return within 10 days of delivery, which is outlined as their return policy, and they gave me a weak excuse "we are a small shop" as if to imply that I was rude to ask for a return and hurt a small business. After two email exchange, the owner stopped responding to my emails. Suffice to say, don't buy their beautiful looking lazy susans. They are overpriced, not custom, and are low quality. Not worth a $325 price tag. Avoid this shop and owner. They don't deserve your business. read more

Actually some of the rudest employees I've ever encountered at a store. I recently moved to UWS and have been trying to intentionally decorate my apartment. I was walking by and the window of the storefront caught my eye so I stopped in. As I was looking around I picked up a soft decorative box with a cool looking animal print that holds a deck of cards. While I was looking at this box I was reprimanded by an employee to "look with my eyes and not my hands." I'm sorry but if I'm going to buy a $300+ box of cards, I'm going to open it up to see what the inside looks like???? Oh my god. Be careful what you buy here. The owner stands behind nothing. I bought a mother of pearl round tray here two years ago and the handle broke because it's too fragile to support any weight. Bad design for a $260 tray. The owner was rude when I asked for a repair, replacement or store credit and then sent me to her supplier, NOMI K, whose only response was to tell me to glue it or buy another one. I wasn't sure how many stars to leave as I didn't even get a chance to shop here. Some context: I don't live in the neighborhood, but I've always admired this shop as I think they carry beautiful things. Their hours are a little bit wonky on weekends, and so I was so pleased to be in the neighborhood on a Sunday afternoon as their posted hours say they close at 5 PM on Sundays. I approached the front door, and it was locked. An associate came out and asked me. "Are you here to buy something? Or are you just browsing?" I was excited to browse and potentially buy, but I wasn't coming with the intention to buy something in particular. It was such an odd question to ask. She then explained that they were doing inventory. I was very confused and so for a moment, she considered letting me in and then reasserted that they were doing inventory and asked me again if I was planning on buying anything. I ultimately said don't worry about it and walked away. One would think that they might consider doing inventory off hours so that their posted hours of operation are honored. It was an unfortunate experience, and I'm not inclined to go back even though I was really excited to finally check this place out. read more

Delightful looking little store across the street from some great restaurants .But as I was waiting to meet a friend for brunch today I made the mistake of going into the store and gently lifted an item to look at the price and the salesgirl (or God forbid, maybe the owner ?) told me to ONLY browse with your eyes ! I then put the item down strolled to the back of the store where she admonished me again this time telling me the back of the store was closed off to customers. Happened upon this cute shop the other day. Nice unusual judaica and other items for the home. And friendly service!

Let me preface this with the objects in the store are beautiful, so it has nothing to do with their merchandise. This does however have to do with the lady behind the counter. I found something that was beautiful and I was going to buy, however it had a lid and I wanted to see the inside of the jar (to my surprise it was a candle). I went to set the lid back on the jar and I was scolded to "browse with my eyes". If I'm going to buy a $200 object, I'm going to look at it and smell the candle.... But alas, as much as I've tried, I have yet to master the trick of smelling with my eyes. Sighhhhhh... read more

Really unique clever merchandise. I purchased something from this shop several years ago when it first opened. Today was my 16 year old daughter's birthday and we strolled in as I wanted to get her a unique gift. We thought it had great stuff but I did notice the sign that said - only shoppers wanted here (implying that we shouldn't just come in to browse). Then I noticed how cluttered the floor was and how things were put on top of everything with little room to walk. Then I was told not to touch something and then told - that I should have seen the sign on the door saying no beverages (we were carrying Starbucks). Then I noticed all the do not touch signs. Then the shopkeeper lectured me on how people tend to grab things with one hand and then they break and oh the strollers that come in and ruin things (we are on the UWS! - it comes with the territory). I left and as I was leaving said - I didn't see the sign saying no drinks. The women pointed to a sign with small print - a wall of words that said "no drinks" was in the middle. Most shops IME offer for customers to leave their drinks on the counter so they could browse and to hold your bags. They usually say it quite friendly and it makes you feel welcome. This whole experience was very off putting. So much so that I came to write this review and noticed that I'm not alone. Skip this store and go to another one in the neighborhood. read more

The owner of this store is disgusting. I can't tell you how many times I've walked in only to be barked at by this woman "not to touch anything" and to "make sure my bag doesn't hit anything." She never asks if anyone needs help, only scolds potential customers. The store is ridiculously cluttered like a cheap bazaar and you are not allowed to touch anything even though this is an essential part of deciding whether to buy an item. This woman has rubbed so many people in this neighborhood the wrong way and should not be allowed to treat people this way. There is a lovely store a few blocks away called Runaway Poppy and the owner is delightful - this is where people should go for gifts. read more

I just went in with my partner, recently engaged *. Wow, I was not prepared for the utter rudeness of both staff. Extremely unwelcoming and followed us around micromanaged how we looked at the items. Even questioning how I replied when asked how we were. Starting "wow I've just never heard someone reply like that". Very disappointing experience. Terrible customer service. The employees who work there are lovely, but they have no leeway to help customers. Would not recommend.

Nice offerings but the store is so unwelcoming it's not worth it. There are signs everywhere telling customers not to touch any of the merchandise. Most of what they sell is not fragile so it's very off putting. The staff is also not friendly. When I was in the store, the saleswoman (owner?) remarked to a customer who had just walked in that she hadn't had a single customer in the store all morning. I was standing right there and had been browsing for several minutes right in front of her. A store selling high end merchandise that is not a big chain is very welcome in this neighborhood. But not this store. Do yourself a favor and make the trek to the east side. Current Home carries many of the same brands, is better laid out, they only ask you not to touch what's fragile and the staff is so nice and welcoming. read more

I went into this store to look at some baskets they had for sale, and asked the woman working if there were any others, explaining that I needed one to hold my dog's toys. She told me they didn't have any others and that their items were probably out of my price range (WTH?). I explained that although I needed it to store my dogs toys, I was the one who had to look at it, so I did indeed want a higher end "designy" item to match my home's modern decor. She recommended I buy something online. It was a bizarrely unpleasant and insulting interaction and I can't imagine ever coming into this place ever again.
