Nothing fancy, no smoothies, no slushies. Yet somehow, we waited 33 minutes. Yes, 33 minutes for tea! After 10 minutes, we politely asked if we'd missed our order since we were waiting outside (it was cold inside). The girl behind the counter, dripping with attitude, shot back, "If your order was ready, it would say it on the screen." Yikes! We were nothing but respectful--definitely didn't deserve that sass. Sure, the place was busy, and with only 2-3 workers on staff, I get they were likely stressed and overworked. But hey, I've been there myself--paid little and overworked--yet manners still matter. A little courtesy would've gone a long way. To top it off, we left before closing, even thanked the staff as we exited. Instead of a "thanks for coming," we got more annoyed looks. First time having Happy Lemon since leaving the Bay and man how I've missed this quality shop! Happy Lemon can be found at the end of a up and coming shopping plaza that has plenty of Asian inspired eateries! I ordered the Mango Lemon Slush and Boba MT with Puff Cream The mango lemon slush was yummy and refreshing with the lemon flavors blending nicely with the mango. A bit sweeter than I wanted but you can't edit the sweetness The Boba Milk Tea with Puff Cream at 50% sugar was the perfect balance. Many places over or under do it but it was perfect for my wife. The spot looked clean and the service was timely. There is even a screen that counts down how long you've been waiting which shows they care about efficiency. Ambiance was dope with various characters of the brand in statue form and fun sayings on the wall. I hate giving bad reviews but here I am because I've given this place so many chances. Every single employee has the worst customer service that I've truly ever experienced. They are just flat out rude, do not communicate with you, do not speak to you or acknowledge that you're even there. Which is so unfortunate because the drinks are really good, but it makes it hard to want to give money to an establishment that is so blatantly disrespectful to its customers. I happen to be at the plaza opening week where drinks were BOGO. I haven't heard much about them prior to that day. Although lemon is I'm their name, I still opted for the milk tea to see how it fared compared to other boba places and I would say it's fairly middle of the road. I would definitely try one of their drinks that involves lemon the next time I go because I'm sure it's better than the milk tea. Happy Lemon's opposite the side of the 99 ranch strip mall towards the end of the plaza. It's bright, and you have the option of placing your order on a tablet, or with a barista. I always get every boba shop's version of their "house boba milk tea" as a baseline. I was also excited that they had snack options, so I got a popcorn chicken with the plum seasoning The milk tea is just okay. It leans towards the creamier side of milk teas, and that's sort of the only thing I tasted. The yakult green tea was also... interesting. I didn't think the flavors meshed well together. The popcorn chicken with plum seasoning was delicious, though!! However, the popcorn chicken can be inconsistent. One day they can be perfectly crispy and sized right with the plum dusting covering the pieces correctly. I have been coming here since they opened and loved it everytime BUT today, 9/9/2025, I ordered a Mango Sago and it is completely UNACCEPTABLE! I found a HARD and SHARP piece that looked like part of a mango seed mixed into the drink. I had to spit it out right away and good thing I did not bite into it. If a child was drinking this, the child could have choke and end up going to emergency. This is very DANGEROUS because the piece is so sharp! For a huge brand like Happy Lemon, such carelessness in preparation is unacceptable. On top of that, I ordered Mango Sago at 6:30pm, which is not late at all. And they told me they run out of Sago! So what is the point of the name Mango Sago? I have to pick Jelly instead. Should have named it Mango Jelly huh? Also, there was no customers at all in the store when I come to pick up so I guess they were not busy at that time. Happy Lemon, Happy Belly This location is typically a self- kiosk where you order and pay at the machine then wait for them to call your number. So grab those receipts! Very little interaction with their staff but that's good for me. I'm obsessed with their bubble waffles and puff cream! The waffles are crisp on the outside. Trust me, get the chocolate or matcha one and thank me later. I've tried their mango yakult drink and loved it. I haven't tried their boba to judge how soft/chewy it is tho. A few months ago, we drove by the place and there was a sign that it was coming soon, and I remembered that my son was really excited about it. Today I was on my way to Daiso and saw that they were now open. Hubby and I went to try since we were there. I have no idea who they are and have never been there before. I took a look at the menu and they all sounded yummy. I decided to get the dragon fruit yakult smoothie and hubby got the kumkuat lemon tea with no sugar and lychee jelly. He usually gets no sugar in all his drinks, but regretted that he did so for this one, because he said it was too sour. He kept saying thank God at least the lychee jelly were sweet and that it made the drink better. We also got their original waffle with cream and boba dip. I had no idea what that meant but I got it to-go and came home to try the waffle with the dip. Their waffle was airy, light, and chewy with a hint of sweetness. Very good waffle. The cream didn't really do much for the waffle for me although I must say their boba are very good. So next time I might try their boba drinks. All their employees were very friendly and nice, although they forgot to give me the cream dip until I asked for it. On a Thursday afternoon, there was no one in there. So if you don't want to wait in line, I'd go in the off hours. I also like their screen which shows how long until your order is ready.
