This agency is very mercenary. They advertise themselves as friendly and caring but really they keep changing the rules and try to charge for things like interviews. Most of them speak terrible English and the one who does speak good English has a horrible attitude. Marilyn was supposed to be a super nanny who helps a sick person go to the Hosptial and shop and clean etc. instead she actively found ways to make things worse. She broke things and lost things and once I was choking by the sink and she just kept chopping vegetables as if nothing happened. Couldn't care less. Finally she tried to sell me her bracelet because she needed money but wouldn't say why. Constantly depressed, negative and shady. Even the plants did better when I asked her to stop watering them. I recently used Happy Maid Service to clean an apartment I moved out of. They conveniently signed me up for the "empty house cleaning" and I was highly impressed with everything. It was storming but that didn't keep them from arriving early and getting right to work (I was glad because I took off work to get this done).... They sent a team of 4, which cut the time down from what I had anticipated (only 1 hour!) and they were very quick and efficient. The ONE complaint I have is that they did not inform me of their new customer policy, which is to pay upfront. I opted to pay cash and was about $40 short so I needed to run to the bank. Within 15 minutes whoever the director was called me about 4 times to ask if I was coming back and threaten that the crew would leave if I don't return quickly. I was HIGHLY put off by that, but the crew did a good job so it ended on a good note. I would recommend this service and will likely work with them again. read more

We have been using Happy Maid Service for a while now because, frankly, we had no other choice but to use them because it's hard to find good maids in our area. We decided to discontinue our business with them. Nina is so incredibly rude, unprofessional, unapologetic, and backwards. She is one of the worst people I have ever had to deal with professionally. She is ALWAYS rude. ALWAYS. The maids do an ok job, but they almost always show up late, sometimes up to 4-5 hours, and are always unapologetic about it. The OK service does not have that great of a pay off because of all the bull shit we have to put up with because of her. I'm sure she's just as much of a b***h to her employees as she is to her customers. WE are paying YOU, not the other way around. When we called her to complain about a misunderstanding, she insulted us by saying that our "house was absolutely filthy and she didn't need our business anyways." Who says that? SO unprofessional. We simply called to complain that they cancelled on us multiple times AND showed up late the day they actually decided to show up. And THAT was the response she gave us. I hope your business goes down the drain, Nina, and I hope your polite maids find a better place to work so they don't have to deal with you and your bad attitude. We found new maids that charge significantly less and do a MUCH better job, to say the least. Worse service ever. Nina is very rude and if you have any complaint she will argue with you and make derogatory remarks about picking up day labor on the corner to clean houses. Her staff does not take pride in their work and I'm not sure why she charges so much. I had to go behind a staff of 4 and clean my floors again and my wood floors still don't look the same. I gave them Bona to use but they used the same mop as what they used to clean the tile. Now my wood is foggy looking. Read the other reviews. They are spot on. Just too much to share here. Never booked with this company but continue to deal with their incompetence. I admit, I was desperate and therefore did not look into any reviews when attempting to book with Happy Maids. I will never do any such thing again. My initial phone call was answered by someone who had no idea of the services offered by the company. Almost every question that I asked was started with the answer - "I would assume ... ?" (The question mark at the end of that answer is to denote the upward inflection that I heard each time it was said.) The only thing that she was certain of was that I will be charged "on the day that the service has been scheduled". Not AFTER the services were performed, ON THE DAY OF. My questions should have been simple enough to tackle. How can you not know if the company or the customer is responsible for cleaning supplies? Or what timeframe a customer has in which to cancel an appointment? Or what type of services are outside of a standard cleaning? Or an approximate timeframe that it will take to do a regular cleaning for my size home for the two people they were planning on sending my way? Because of all of the doubts that I was beginning to have on this initial phone call, I stopped any forward progress by telling the lady on the phone that I have changed my mind and that I will not be booking an appointment. She then told me that she will cancel all further booking activities. After this, I have received 4 emails and 1 text - all stating that an appointment has been booked. The final email said that I will be charged for the services on the day of the booking and if I want to cancel this appointment I will need to create a customer account on their website. As I have never been a customer, I am not interested in providing them with even more information by creating an account on their website. Therefore, I keep emailing, texting and calling to get this appointment cancelled and nothing has worked. Wish me luck please, because I see this as an ongoing fight. Nina is very rude, unprofessional and apparently no customer service experience at all when you call to complain. She doesn't care is like you just wasting your time. I got your money already. Don't waste your time or money with this company. They came to my house 4 maids you will think the service will be great since 4 people WRONG. They were rushing while cleaning the girl who was cleaning the bathroom I had to send her back to clean the bathroom twice. The guy didn't even mop under my bed or couches in the living room. When you tell them they are apologetic. But why should I have to tell you 3 or 4 times how to clean? This is your job act like you are happy and do a good job just like the name of your company. Run! They were 2 hours late and we paid them $165 to ROB us didn't clean. Showed the owner pictures then we were told that our house was dirty which is why it wasn't cleaned. We paid for them to dust the blinds which yes had dust on them wasn't cleaned and other normal expectations which wasn't done. We have invoice they gave us for a "detailed cleaning" which wasn't done. When we told them our things were missing they called me a "crazy *itch lady" then we told them we will call the police. Suddenly the said they would get the crew back out to clean this time and help to locate our stuff, but must have known the police were called because they never came and sent a message saying the women had to pick up their kids from school and couldn't make it. Yes we filed a theft report with the police and still no comment from the company now and we know we will never see our stuff again and feel ashamed we paid this company to rob us. What makes me sick is that they even stole Easter bunny stuff we bought for our children. How can this company justify what their employees did to our family is beyond me. They might be bonded and insured but if they won't take responsibility for what their employees did then what is the point. BEWARE! RUN! All the negative reviews were spot on, I just wish I read them before I had Nina's crew clean my home. Below is a brief synopsis of just a handful of issues we noted while we inspected the "work" the three ladies did: 1) they left a dirty rag in my baby's bassinet, something they didn't even need to touch or clean. I found it when I was checking the rooms. 2) they didn't clean my master bath floors or counters. We showed them areas that had dust and strands of hair and then they cleaned it in front of us. 3) items listed on their website as normal cleaning all of a sudden became spring cleaning items which was completely contrary to the conversation I had with Nina. Get the details in writing from her or record the conversation. 4) they didn't clean our kitchen floors and vacuum the dining room. They fixed this issue again after we pointed it out. 5) when we discussed the above items with Nina and she was not apologetic and she asked us to tell the ladies to fix the issues and pay them. After, she proceeded to say that we were picky. If picky means we expect you to clean - and do so professionally because that is your job - then yes, we were picky. I've never worked with a maid service that is so unprofessional. Save your money, pay more elsewhere and have the job done right. Paying these people was an absolute waste of money. read more

We used to use this service because they were good at one time. Let me repeat the word WERE. When we first started up the service they were usually here within 30 minutes of the scheduled time. There were 4 people and it took them between 45 minutes and an hour to clean a 3 bedroom, two story house. We had a two week cycle. After a couple of months the arrival time started to slip a great deal. My Saturday's became a waiting game. I couldn't plan on anything because there was no telling WHEN the cleaning crew would show up. A few times I had to reschedule the cleaning because I was going to be out of town or had a pressing engagment that meant I wouldn't be there. They decided to raise the price because now it was three weeks between cleaning (every once in while) instead of two. They also got careless. Do you know how expensive wood shutters can be? I ended up having to replace mine with regular window shades in the master bathroom after I stopped their service because they destroyed the shutters. With Christmas coming up in a couple of days, and my wife just having had knee replacement surgery, we scheduled them to come back today for a clean up. Granted it has been a couple of months since we had them here but with the wife not able to walk right now, I decided to pay the extra cost they wanted for a one time call. After they left I found out they unplugged a cable on my modem, granted accidently, but rather than let me or my wife know, they simply plugged the cable into a convenient outlet on the back of the modem. It took out the device, my televisions, my PC and my home phones. Now I have to pay $99 to ATT to come out and repair the problem. An hour ago I went to grind some coffee beans and found they had washed out the ELECTRIC GRINDER with water. I plugged it in and nothing happened. I looked in the grindr cup and saw damp grounds. I turned the ginder over and water dtrained from the electrical housing. HELLO !!!! When I called to complain the woman that answered made an offer to replace the grinder with one values about $9.50 but this was a lot more than that. Couple the cost of my having to get a comparable grinder AND the cost to have ATT come out and repair damages Happy Maid did my PC services...this Saturday cleaning cost me well over $200. I would suggest you think twice about contacting this organization in Houston. I notice there are other Happy Maid Services around the country. I wish I can give them ZERO stars. These are the RUDEST and most UNPROFESSIONAL people you will have the misfortune to meet. I emailed them to come clean our house before Christmas as a gift for my mother. When asking for the quote over email, I told them how many bedrooms and bathrooms we have and they immediately gave me a specific quote without EVER asking how many square feet the home is, or needing to see the home before giving us a quote or anything! This was all in black in white in our email exchange, so nothing was debatable. However, when the cleaning ladies arrived to the house to clean and my mom showed them around, they freaked out and called their boss who then went on to YELL and SCREAM at my poor mom (who was nothing but kind) and called her a LIAR, stating that we told them the home had much less bedrooms and was a certain square footage. This was hilarious because we told them the correct number of bedrooms and they never asked the square footage AT ALL!!! And then they had the nerve to pull up our home on Google maps and say that it was huge, and we are liars. Seriously??? Then why didn't they look us up on Google maps when they were giving me the quote?? They were now demanding $60 in addition to their already ridiculously inflated price. How could they expect us to let them stay and clean our home after they berated my mother when they were the ones at fault. The most ridiculous part is that all of their incompetence is SO clear if they just read the email exchange they had with me!!! They are SO ARROGANT, RUDE, ENTITLED, UNPROFESSIONAL, and just plain MEAN. And that is all before they even were given a chance to clean anything!!!
