Two days prior to my event, another rental…read morecompany sent me a reminder about my event (like a "do you want to confirm your booking?") which reminded me that I had not heard from Imperial, where I had a signed agreement and paid a deposit. When I asked Imperial about a delivery ETA, I wasn't on the schedule because I hadn't paid my balance -- which, OK, I had missed or forgotten that the balance was due prior to the event... but you're not going to send a request for the balance before taking me off the delivery list? So I took care of the balance, and got a delivery window. Items were scheduled for delivery the day prior to my event. After my balance was paid, I got a phone call that the umbrellas I ordered were not available in the color I requested (off-white). I was given the option of switching color or switching to a bigger size. I have limited space, so bigger size wasn't ideal. I asked about knocking it down from 3 to 2 umbrellas, so I wouldn't be overwhelmed with tan canvas, but they would not do that. When the delivery arrived, one of the tables was the wrong height -- cocktail height, which I didn't have seating for. They had to leave and returned at the end of the day to fix it. Incidentally, when I declined to sign the receipt because I didn't have my order in full, the guy kind of made a snide remark. Eventually they returned with the right table stand. One of the 28 chairs I rented was broken. The "fuchsia" table cloth is closer to pink. The tan umbrellas were fine. It all turned out fine -- I just feel like I had to work for it.

However, when we picked up the order two days before our event, many of the chairs were wobbly and noticeably worn. My father, who handled the pickup, even requested replacements for several that were particularly unstable. While some wear is expected with rentals, I did anticipate the premium-style chairs to be in better condition. We had planned to double the cushions for additional seat height, which is why we ordered 24. Unfortunately, the cushions we received were marked up, came in two different styles with different ties, and when my father brought the order home, there were only 12 in the pickup. We even called around for alternatives, but this style of chair typically uses a Velcro-attached cushion, so outside options weren't compatible. We returned to the store to pick up the missing cushions, and thankfully we were able to exchange the mismatched ones for 24 matching burgundy cushions in much better condition. My mother mentioned that Darren was very helpful in resolving the issue with the seat pads, and we SO appreciated the effort to make things right! In the end, everything worked out, but the process was a bit stressful, and we did expect a higher quality product and smoother experience from a rental company.
