Every time I go here I am always treated with kindness and respect from beginning to end and I am pleased with my service. I LOVE Chloe for lashes and Brenda for nails, although everyone else I've had has done a pretty good job too. My lashes always last pretty nicely. I've gotten gel on my toes and they last as good as day one pretty much until they grow out. Mostly I get a basic manicure and pedicure and whatever nail shape I ask, or specifications I need, they can take care of. Over the years, I have seen once in a while, there's a certain type of customer that will come in, get their service, and have a meltdown/make a loud scene looking specifically to get out of paying which I have seen in other salons too. It happens. I am always impressed at how professionally and tactfully the employees respond to those kinds of situations. Overall, I appreciate the service they provide, their presence in the community and would like to see them continue be a part of it. I came to Happy Nails & Spa because they were the cheapest option after calling 7 nearby salons. I didn't have high expectations, but I needed a pedicure and was on a budget. Unfortunately, the experience matched the price. First red flag: no chair massage offered. I even asked if it worked, and the technician didn't know. That already felt odd. The pedicure itself was way too gentle. No scrub at all, and I paid extra for callus removal--which was basically nonexistent. When I asked, she said they use a yellow sponge... I'm used to actual callus removal tools and exfoliation, so this was disappointing. For the polish, it got worse. The technician couldn't do the French tip and had me wait for someone else. I asked for a dark pink, but the color I got looks nothing like what I chose (see photo). When I pointed it out, I was told it's because I didn't get gel and regular polish is "always lighter." Instead of fixing it, it just felt like an excuse. Other issues: No toe separators used Cuticles were not trimmed at all Nails weren't properly cleaned, just filed No sanitizing solution used in the water Overall, it felt like there was an excuse for everything instead of trying to make the customer happy. This was my first time visiting this nail salon. When we arrived, the atmosphere was very quiet and intimate, and the ladies working there were very nice and polite. I came in with my daughter, and unfortunately, her experience with the gentleman doing her manicure was not a good one. Her nails were initially very bulky, uneven, and poorly done. She politely asked if he could redo them because they were clearly not right. Instead of responding professionally, he told her that she was being rude. He did redo them, and while they were better the second time, they still were not great. I included a picture of how they looked after he redid them.So you can only imagine how bad they looked the first time. On the positive side, the young lady who did my daughter's pedicure was wonderful. She did a very good job on her toes and was extremely kind to her, especially after the uncomfortable experience with the manicure. As for my own services, I got acrylic nails, and unfortunately, I was not impressed. The acrylics were uneven, and only one coat of polish was applied, so the finish was not what I expected. My toes were also disappointing. I feel like more attention could have been given to my ingrown nails, and the overall service felt very rushed. I will say that the massage I received was very relaxing and was definitely one of the highlights of my visit. Needless to say, I will not be returning to this location. I paid $240 for my services and my daughter's, and for that amount, I expected a much higher level of quality, attention to detail, and customer service. The prices seem really reasonable but I don't love how I was continuously offered additional services and upgrades. Trying to upsell is the nature of sales but it's a fine line where you cross into being pushy and that did put me off a little bit. Based on what their prices were I was expecting to pay $35-40 but ended up at $62 before adding tip. The pedicure was great no complaints but the acrylic nails were one of the worst applications, one I was nicked with the drill not one time but 3 times!!! Not so happy... I just wanted a mani pedi, which I hadn't treated myself to in probably over a year. I wanted gel polish for my fingers and regular for my toes. I let them talk me into gel for my toes and dipped tips for my fingers. Big mistake! The pedicure was wonderful, but the manicure was disappointing. I wanted a gel manicure. I had two acrylic nails on my thumbs that I couldn't take off, but all of my other acrylic nails were off. I asked the lady if I was going to be charged for just the two nails, she didn't directly answer my question but I let it go. She finished two coats of my gel and then said that she was going to add a 3rd layer because it was still bumpy. When the manicure was over she charged me the same price for taking off 10 nails, even though she only took off 2.
