We had the absolute best experience at Happiness Nails while celebrating my mom's 50th birthday! My mom, family, and I all came in for pedicures, and from the moment we walked through the door, every single staff member treated us with the utmost kindness and respect. This was my first time visiting, but you would have never known it. They made us feel like valued, returning guests, remembered our names, and created such a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Everyone was so friendly, and we had an amazing time laughing, relaxing, and celebrating together. Located in the Equinox Plaza in Marina del Rey, Happiness Nails truly feels like a luxury spa experience without the luxury price tag. The salon is beautiful, the service is top-notch, and the pricing is incredibly reasonable for the quality you receive. If you're anywhere near Marina del Rey and looking for a place to get your nails done, this is the spot. They deserve far more than five stars! We'll absolutely be back, and I can't recommend Happiness Nails enough. read more

I hate to leave this review, but it has to be said. I asked for a clear polish on my nails as I had done them myself the day before so I only needed a clear polish. He quoted me $12. I told him that was a lot based on what I'm used to he started yelling at me to the point where the other ladies who worked there started coming to my defense it became a yelling and shouting match between them. I was mortified because during the argument, he kept yelling towards me $12!!! Turns out they only charge 7 for clear polish. I was mortified. He continued being nasty and never apologized. After that my nails were filed crooked but I was so over it I just paid and left. read more

I came in today, cause my girlfriend said she had decent experience with this place and she wanted to get pedicures and the place I go to was closed. The first Nail Tech clipped my toe twice on the right and it hurt and then three times on the other foot before I said I was done. I'm not sure if it was a manager, but the person sitting at the front desk said I can give you someone else and I said OK. I honestly should've just walked out of the store and left. I realized afterwards that the new person that came didn't actually clean and trim the rest of my toes and now I've got uneven toenails and not all of my toes have been cleaned up. This is not a place I will go back to. Avoid and go somewhere else. read more

Accommodated me last minute on a Friday, I appreciated that. I wish they shared that the chairs were massage chairs, I didn't realize until the end that you could turn on the massage with a remote. I feel like they should mention that, after all it's there for people to use right? It's clean and modern on the inside, which was nice. My gel mani and regular pedi were good though, they've lasted about a month (of course my nails are super grown out now). They do charge $10 for removing gel though, so beware of that. Overall good experience, I just wish they didn't charge for removing gel. read more

First Time at Happy Nails and Spa I'm always nervous when I go to a new place because I just don't know what to expect. To be honest, I filed my nails into the shape I like at home since nail techs never get my shape just how I like it. Service: As soon as I signed in, they were able to fit me in as a walk-in. They started with my pedicure and then moved on to my gel manicure. Pedicure: The color I originally wanted was too transparent, so they offered to match my gel mani. Unfortunately, the colors were a little off. Gel Manicure: My nail tech began soaking my nails with acetone, but her technique with the tool was actually a little painful and she was scraping my nail bed a lot. :( I wish she would have soaked it off more and gently removed it. Overall, my experience was a mix of good and not-so-good. read more

Will never come back. The woman who did my manicure would not listen and was super rude, took forever and did my nails so bad. Adding a picture. Got in at 6 pm and left at 7:43.she painted the gel so bumpy and up My nail that looks like it was done two weeks ago and not fresh. I literally just got them done and they look like they grown out because of the way she did them. read more

I will not be returning. I came in for a pedicure and asked the original lady who painted my toes to only do one coat. She did four coats on my big toe and two coats on the rest of my toes. Not only were they uneven coat wise, but she kept missing all the corners of my toenails. As she started to wipe away the excess paint on my skin, she wiped some of the paint off one of my toenails with the remover and was not going to fix it. I finally decided at that point to tell her (very nicely I might add) to just take it off and I would paint it at home. The manager then came over and painted my nails- which wasn't any better. And I have skin randomly hanging off my toes. I am furious to say the least and as I said, I will not be going back. read more

Rushed, messy nail service. Gel polish not on some parts of nails and on skin. When asked to correct, rushed again and made even more of a mess. Used her dirty finger nails to try and scrape off polish. Asked to do feet first so they can dry as she did gel on my hands. Refused. read more

I've been to every nail salon in a 5 mile radius & Happy Nails delivers every single time. Every technician has done my gel manicure expertly & with care. Their manicure has consistently lasted w/o chipping for at least 3 weeks (I don't like seeing the growth past that point) even with dark colors & red! While it is sometimes busy, I never feel rushed, like other places, and I have time to relax & enjoy their services. Highly recommend if you're looking g for a new nail shop. Their prices are reasonable & I'm never upsold on services I don't need, which I value. They truly make me feel like a guest, rather than a customer. read more

Very impressed! I had an appt at 5:30, i got there a bit early (10 min) and i was seated right away. They make everyone wash their hands first which i really appreciate too. John worked on my nails. I went in for a gel fill. I couldn't decide between two colors and John helped me choose. His technique and work was excellent!! He was also very conversational which was great! He did my nails nice and thin, very natural, the perfect length for me and the exact shape i wanted! I will def be back and book another appt w John! read more

Honestly just save your money or go somewhere else , I got a full set, basic pedicure, and eyebrow and chin wax, they cut me on different fingers, my nails are just so thick and uneven, my toes are good now after they had to completely redo them because it was so uneven and looked like patchwork on my toes, and they missed so hairs in my brows and chin my brows weren't even I had to go in and fix them myself. read more

I come here monthly and I love how quickly I can get an appointment. Make sure you call ahead of time because they are booked and ready. But walk-ins are definitely accommodated so no worries if you can't make an appointment ahead of time. I highly recommend making appointment though. Make sure to request a nail tech if you want a design otherwise everyone is great for your basic fill or manicure. They are very efficient and will get you in and out in an hour. Just let them know what you want!! read more

Took my wife and I in for pedicures and it was exactly what we needed. The appointment process was easy (made over the phone). The shop was clean and my wife was happy that they used disposable files/buffers and pumice. The service was really good. Overall, I would highly recommend this salon! read more

I've been coming to Happy Nails and Spa for over two years now and never go to any other salon because the experience here is always consistent and professional! The nail techs have a strong attention to detail and deliver great service. My gel manicures last up to 3 weeks, without chipping, and stay shiny the entire time. I love that this salon honors the appointment times that they set. I've been to other salons where I've made appointments and had to wait over 30, 40 minutes to get seated, even with an appointment. This never happens here, they are very timely at Happy Nails. They also accept walk-ins and are very accommodating with same day appointments. The salon is always clean. There are always candies, waters available, and fresh cut flowers. Lots of nail colors to choose from!! It's all in the details. It's a great business! Highly recommend. read more

The nail tech repeatedly massaged the tops of my feet and legs extremely hard, even after I politely asked multiple times for her to be gentler and instead focus on the bottoms of my feet and my calves. I eventually explained to another employee that I have fibromyalgia, and when my pain is triggered it can affect my entire body. Although this was apparently relayed to the nail tech, she only adjusted her pressure briefly before returning to being rough again. To make matters worse, the pedicure water was cold. When I asked if hotter water could be added, the technician seemed irritated and reluctantly brought over water from an electric kettle. I was honestly surprised the foot tubs did not have proper hot water access built in. The massage chairs were outdated and barely functioning, which added to the disappointment. This was the Friday before Mother's Day, and I simply wanted to treat myself to a peaceful, calming pedicure. Instead, I left stressed, uncomfortable, and physically hurting. When I paid, the gentleman at the front asked about my experience and brought over a woman I believe was part of management. Her solution was to suggest that I "call ahead next time" and request someone less rough. That response felt dismissive considering I had already voiced my concerns multiple times during the service. Overall, I felt unheard, uncomfortable, and disappointed by both the service and the lack of care shown when concerns were raised. I will not be returning.

By the time 50 mins had passed, she wanted someone else to remove the gel on my toes and said she was going to be done soon. Mind you.... I had an appt at noon. It's now 12:50. Being inconsiderate of my time is something I don't tolerate and I will never come back. I've been a customer since they opened their doors but this was so infuriating to me and unprofessional.

I was asked if I could wait but wasn't given a time. I assumed it would be 15-20 min wait. It ended up being an hour wait and the tech that ended up helping me wasn't even on site. He was just starting his shift. Additionally it was a male tech and I was not asked if I was ok waiting 60 mins and not asked if I was okay having a male tech for my pedicure. They still didn't have someone available to do my manicure so the owner who was also the receptionist and cashier did my manicure. This ended up being 2 hours long from beginning to end. Because the owner was the receptionist and also the cashier she was extremely distracted having to walk away so many times and upon returning kept forgetting what finger she was working on. This added to the length of time I was there and unfortunately this was not a relaxing experience for me. Also, all of the OPI color options are outdated or completely used and not properly maintained and cleaned. They look like they are refilled and do a very poor job maintaining them. Additionally no one is actively cleaning. Lots of used towels everywhere. Also there was trash on the floor and all employees including the owner just walked over and around it. No one concerned for how messy the floor or anything is. The restroom needs a good power washing. Instead of using the chairs basin for the pedicure they put a small basin that looks old and used. Also I'm not sure how clean anything is. Overall lacking a lot of maintenance and upkeep. Also it's been 7 days and my gel mani is already peeling. My pedi looks like I could have done a better job myself. Honestly I will not be returning.

He also doesn't know how to use a drill, it was burning my nails so bad and I have a cut on my pinky from the aggressiveness. All of the acrylic is uneven and at one point half the acrylic broke off my nail and he just kept filing it more slanted. I finally asked for someone else to finish my nails and he kept grabbing my hand but the owner (i think, she did my nails the first time) finished my nails and i still hate them and Im so disappointed that i paid for them. Even as I was checking out the lady that did my toes asked me who did my nails last time and that I should request someone and apologized to me because she knew how badly the guy was doing my nails.

I'm attending a wedding in New Orleans this weekend, and I wanted beautiful black nails to go with my fancy black dress, pearls and heels. Plus, Halloween is on its way. I made a 10:30 am appointment for gel nails and a regular pedicure, and arrived a couple of minutes early. The owner greeted me, and I was seated right away, with Thao for my pedicure, to start. I greatly needed a callous remover treatment, as I haven't had that done in probably 5 years (unless I did one myself over the years while painting my own nails; probably not). She did an amazing job, then painted my toenails in my favorite Chanel Le Vernais color, which I brought in myself. Mai did my manicure, and used the salon's black gel polish, which matched perfectly. The top coat gave it the same shine as my Chanel toenails, and everything looks great! The ladies were super fast; done in about an hour. I've had mani-pedis go 90 minutes, but not here! I would definitely go back. The salon is clean and gorgeous, and the service is fast, friendly and of excellent quality. I may have to make this a regular part of my beauty routine!

Of course, I turned to Yelp for the scoop and zeroed in on Ms. Glen's Therapeutic Manicures & Pedicures. I finally got a chance to go see Ms. Glen and it was everything I wanted and more. It was relaxing (I fell asleep)! It was restorative! My feet felt and looked healthy and cared for. I didn't get polished which is great because I have been wanting to go natural for a while to let my nails breathe and focus on what's really happening with my toe nail health. So may things I loved (in no particular order): - Very communicative from the appointment (via phone) to the confirmation and directions (via text) - Ms. Glen greeted me at the door - The studio smells divine (really sets the tranquil mood) - The studio was intimate (just me - yay) - The space was very clean (I am a stickler for clean) - There was a complimentary water waiting on me - Ms. Glen has developed her own techniques and products which speaks to her dedication and specialization (I love people who are passionate about what they do!) - Every step of the treatment was appreciated! (very detailed, very attentive, think - pampering your feet from the in-depth massage to the parrafin to the soaks to the grooming and much much more) - I got socks! This was such a special and much needed last step that I never knew I needed. It made my feet more comfortable and protected after such a beautiful treatment. She even asked me my size. How's that for customer service! - Now this one may seem trivial but I never had to hold my feet up during the treatment unless I was transitioning from the bowl to a towel. I do not like having to do that while someone attends to the bottom of my feel or heels. Ms. Glen has it worked out where I can truly relax the whole time. I also left with one of Ms. Glen's therapeutic hand and foot oils in Lemon. She makes the oils herself! It smells so good and leaves a refreshing but not overpowering scent. It feels good oiling my feet every night. Like another reviewer said, this is not your run of the mill pedicure shop. This is a therapeutic service that is worth every penny. My goal is to make this a regular treatment. If my feet are healthy, I am healthier! Thanks Ms. Glen for such a wonderful experience! I'll be back. I had recently purchased a soap that helps with skin discoloration. It hasn't been making any improvement in the uneven skin tone and dark marks on my feet. Turns out I just needed an appointment with Ms. Glen. The exfoliation she provided literally rubbed away 15 years from my feet. My dry scratchy heels were left supple and smooth and the calloused areas were left soft. Had I known what I was in store for I would have taken before and after pictures. She even provided socks for me to leave in, to seal in the moisture. My favorite part hands down was the massage. She kneaded into these tired soles, and I needed that! I paid a little more than the price listed (which she does quote as a base price) but she also spent almost 2x the amount of time listed. My Fiancé noticed the difference in appearance and feel immediately. I intentionally waited until 24 hours+ had passed to write this review, wanting to see if my feet would feel just as nice. THEY DO!! Ms. Glen definitely puts pride in her work and I love how she checked in throughout the process to ensure I was satisfied along the way. I recommend her service to anyone looking to give their feet a more youthful feel and look. And if your feet have severe issues that might keep you from visiting open public salons, her private suite will help you feel comfortable and secure. Right before I left, Ms. Glen threw in a bottle of her therapeutic hand & foot oil once she saw how dry my hands were. I had discussed my upcoming nuptials with her and she wanted to make sure my hands moisturized properly for my big day, even providing a demonstration on proper application. Ms. Glen is a gem!

While chatting with Celina at the start of the appointment, I mentioned to her that my natural nails had become weak after repeatedly getting temporary nail extensions at another salon. Celina suggested that we could try a luminary hard gel overlay on my natural nails for long-lasting strength (~1 month) and nail growth without the need for gel-x/tips. No other nail technician had ever mentioned this as an option, and I am so happy with how it turned out! As someone who always had extensions, I've never seen my natural nails look so good in my life! Not only do they look great, but they also feel so strong, and I don't have to worry about them breaking. Celina is super detail-oriented and it's obvious that she cares a lot about her work and clients. On top of everything else, the polish options at this salon are beautiful.
