Each of the last three manicures I had included no cuticle prep. They just filed the nail plate down, put on the dehydrator, and did the dip. My actual nails were completely ruined in the process. I have strong nails that I take care of, but after the last few manicures I was left with extremely thin, weak nails. I actually had to take SIX WEEKS off of having anything on my nails so that I could grow them back out. That's how bad of shape my nails were left in. My biggest complaint is that, after coming here for over a year regularly, Jimmy didn't even know my name. He asked me to choose a pedicure, and I selected the Pomelo Pedicure. He then directed me to a book to choose a color. Because the selection appeared limited, I asked whether those were the only colors available. He replied that they were the dip-powder colors, although I had never requested dip powder. After I clarified that I wanted regular polish, he directed me to another display. I was surprised to find several nearly empty or dried-out bottles, which made choosing a color difficult. I was then directed to a chair, where my technician noticed nail dust covering the seat and adjoining table from a previous service. She wiped the area with a towel before I sat down. My pedicure was okay, but it felt rushed and did not seem to include everything I remembered from the Pomelo Pedicure description. When I received my ticket at the end of my service, I realized I had been given and charged for the less-expensive Express Pedicure instead. I mentioned it to the associate who checked me out, but I am unsure whether she understood my concern, so I decided not to pursue it further. On the positive side, I now know the Express Pedicure would be a convenient option when I am short on time. I am willing to give this salon another try to determine whether this experience was an exception or the usual standard.

I had both Helen and another gentleman take my nails off and they were so considerate about pain. They kept checking in and making sure nothing hurt. Once removed Helen took great care in getting them all cleaned and tidied up. I will admit I wondered why she was being so slow, but it was all worth it in the end. She put my tips on and was about to start the powder when she pulled out a small jar and applied a more white looking powder in only certain areas. I asked her what this was for, to which she replied, "this helps make it so the lines are not as noticeable from your nail bed." I was shocked, with all my prior pampering I've never had someone do this before. After all was said and done and my nails were perfect, both length and thickness, it was to my surprise I only paid $38 dollars. (I did do pearl tips and not powder) I was impressed and will return! "Maybe you should take a pill next time." "This is good training for your nails." Bullying a client who took the time to disclose a physical sensitivity is unacceptable. When I brought his behavior to the front desk, management didn't care at all--offering zero accountability, zero apology, and complete indifference. If this salon thinks it's acceptable for their staff to humiliate paying customers while management looks the other way, they need a serious lesson in standard business ethics.
