Watch out for the woman with the glasses at Happy Nails by Subway. She does not like Black people. The first time I came in, she charged others after their nails were done. Me? I was told I need to pay first. If I was getting regular polish this might make sense or be easier, but I had just said I wanted gel. I planned to never return. Today, my daughter wanted her nails done and the place we usually go did not have time. She was calling around and Happy Nails had time, so I decided to give the place another try, thinking maybe I was wrong about them. I got the same lady, and she chipped one of my dip nails, so I asked her to fix it. Instead of fixing it, she tried to cut down the side of my nail with cuticle trimmers, and made my finger bleed. I walked in for a regular pedicure around 1:30 on a Saturday and they took me right away! Temperatures of the water and towels were perfect. The technician paid attention to the little details and worked for a long time on my cuticles. The massage was also at least 5 mins, which is so rare to find (coming from Chicago)! My mother and I followed "Michelle" from a previous nail salon when she opened Happy Nails about 2 years different ago. Apparently, she's no longer the owner of Happy Nails, and the new owners are very rude and disrespectful. My mother had an appointment on Tuesday afternoon, and no one called to let her know that Michelle was not going to be in the shop that day to allow my mom the opportunity to reschedule etc. Instead, she found out that day when she arrived for her appointment. While getting her nails done she explained to the nail tech that she wanted them done the way Michelle always did them. The rude and incompetent technician replied "everyone doesn't do nails like "Michelle" and then her and the other staff carried on a conversation while doing my mother's nails and kept mentioning Michelle's name. I called that evening and the man answering the phone pretended to play dumb and said Michelle will be back on Saturday. I stopped in on Saturday only to be told they had been calling Michelle but unable to reach her, and she'll be back on Wednesday. She then asked if I wanted to schedule an appointment and if I had Michelle's phone #. I told her never again will we patronize this salon and I've already called Michelle and sent her a textvand gottenno response. The guy who I talked to was very understanding and said they will fix free if charge. Well the Owner decided to charge me 35$ for polish. I couldn't understand why. 1. They are not friendly ex: I got there and instead of being greeted, a staff member asked me if I had an appointment follow by: you can wash your hands. 2. They are not in time with appointments. I had waited for 15 minutes past my appointment when I walked away and it was mostly because none of the technicians were even closed to done with their current person. 3. They tell you on the phone that they require masks but I get there and only staff is wearing masks. I understand ppl may choose not to wear a mask, that's their choice but at least the business should offer to sit you in your station to wait respecting social distancing or straight up tell you that they don't require masks. I can't afford waiting 30+ minutes sitting face to face with an unmasked stranger, no plexiglass or anything in between us. The wait area is the drying area too so this is a common practice for this business. I understand covid puts us all in different situations. I just think it wasn't fair how they presented their business covid rules so I could make my decision to book or not an appointment. It was a waste of time and to make it clear, I would only advice people against masks to visit that business. If you are covid conscious and want to stop the spread and reduce exposure, I would recommend you find a different place. read more

Well I went to happy nails about two weeks ago I had got a full set none chip on my nails and my feet I had a good time they were very professional and willing to service me without appointment. So today I went I made appointment last week for services for today at 6:45 I come in and wash my hands as usual and then I sit at the desk to get my nails done and the gentleman started talking telling the lady something in his language I couldn't understand so the lady comes over and in front of the whole nail salon and say well your nails is going to be $50 and I explain to her I don't care how much my nails are I came for a service and I'm OK with paying $50. So then I went on to ask her why did she come up to me and advised me how much the service was prior to me even getting my service completed. She got upset and she asked me do you want your nails done I reply to her yes. So the guy puts my replacement nails on and then he tells me why I can't finish it because the other guy has to do it so I'm not for sure dude is even license to be up in there to do nails or feet but he couldn't put the coating on my nails. So I asked the lady how long do I have to wait for the other guy to complete his other client and she said 15 to 20 minutes my reply was I set up an appointment at 6:45 and I was assuming that my service is going to be completed around that time and I didn't have to wait additional time. Now prior to this I did call her today just to confirm my appointment to make sure that my appointments at 6:45 and she did tell me yes my appointment was at 6:45 so if she couldn't accommodate that time or if she needed me to reschedule she should advise me of this information prior to me coming in. after he finish putting my nails on I get into another gentleman's chair and he was asked me how I was and I just explain to him like you know what you guys say to me you know with calling me out telling me how much the service was prior to me being completion of my service in front of everybody that was just a little bit unprofessional he got upset and threw his hands up and said I don't want to do your nails I said fine who's gonna do my nails so the lady came she said I'll do your nails I said OK fine so with that being said I continue to talk to on my phone I'm talking on video chat the man told me to get up and move over there he pointed to the chair and that's explain to him no problem so as I'm talking on my video chat the lady says a I don't like your attitude and if you keep talking I'm not gonna do it I'm not gonna do services for you. I explain to her who are you speaking to she said yeah I said well you're not gonna disrespect me and you need to be a little bit more professional when you talk to me she said well I don't have to do anything I replied well if you don't want to do my nails just say that so she said I don't want to do a service for you you can leave. So I said OK I can leave thank you for your services you guys have a good day reply happy Easter I said thank you very much and laugh so with that being said I will never ever go to this place or I will never ever suggest or recommend any people of color to go to this place they are very unprofessional very rude and disrespectful. happy nails is not a happy place for anyone to be feel free and happy this experience was just over the top it's takes over my prior experience with them so if I can give them a zero or -0 they will receive a -0 don't go to that place they're rude disrespectful. read more

Since my child is only 15 she did not speak up for herself and was pushed along on to someone else. She got a full set gel polish with white polkadots on. Cost $60, something in the pastThey have charged us $45 for. Place was very nice and clean and service was good in the beginning when they opened however I will not return there highly unsatisfied and overpriced. So I only made an appt here because they were the only nail salon open on Sun. I guess that should of been my sign that they were prob mediocre at best. I wasn't really impressed with any of their work that I saw from their pics, but they were a fairly new salon with good reviews, so I decided to give them a try. I come into my appt & show them a pic of ombré nails from another salon in town & the lady acted like she needed to know prior to the appt that that's what I wanted. Ombré nails are pretty basic, but it was almost like she was intimidated of the work or something. I've never told a nail salon in advance what I wanted to get done as far as the exact style. I just say full set, fill or whatever when I book the appt. They just did whatever style I asked for when I got there. No biggie! That's what experienced techs that know what they're doing do. They didn't need any advance notice with details & all that. So that gave me the impression that they didn't know what they were doing. Needless to say that was my first and last time there. Next time, I'll just make sure I can get into one of the better salons in town before Sunday. I wasted my time, but I'm glad I didn't waste money for crappy nails. read more

designs were great other than them not being symmetrical on both hands. i got there and they sat me down almost immediately which was good, but then i was switched around a bit between people. this wasn't the issue to me, it was just confusing. my main issue was when i asked him to keep the length of my fingernails, he began to rip into them like i've never seen before. my finger nails looked like split ends haha. eventually, they were filed down and shaped. shape was fine, but lengths werent the same between hands and my middle finger on one side is crooked. by the way, I was getting a fill. to remove the old acrylic off of my real nails, he filed it a little bit, and then wedged them off with a credit card. this bothered me because i had never had anyone do that to my nails before and i knew that it wasn't good for my nails. i had two colors picked and asked for someone's opinion on them and i chose one and the lady ended up bringing me a different color. it turned out beautiful, but i just thought that was weird haha. cute place, nice people, but not the best service in the world. care and attention didn't feel like it was given even in the almost empty room. my nails ended up being $60. shorter than i had asked for, uneven, and wonkey middle finger. but beautiful snowflake that looked just like the picture i had shown. it was very impressive. however, lines weren't symmetrical on either hand for second design. maybe i just had an unlucky first visit, but i wasnt impressed with my services unfortunately. read more
