We were there for about 20 minutes before there were techs working with each of us. Not a big deal. Water in the tubs got cold (I could've said something, so no fault there really lol) and the massage chairs don't do much massaging. Kinda feels like it's just moving you a bit haha Not sure if there were options for the type of pedicures, they never asked. We tried this nail place for deluxe pedicures for the first time. Their best pedicure is deluxe pedicure that costs $40 and comes with your choice of pedi bombs (soap, scrub, lotion) you want. See photo below to see the different kinds of pedi bombs and their benefits for your skin. My husband picked the green tea pedi bomb, and I selected the milk and lemon one that has Vitamin C and citric acid to brighten your skin. I liked these pedi bombs but the pedicure itself was kind of quick. They didn't massage for long and also there was no paraffin wax. No hot stone either. Before I knew it, the pedicure was done. I always go for the best pedicure whenever I visit a nail salon, and other nail salons also have a paraffin wax included. It wasn't available at this place. Paraffin wax truly make a difference. Another thing I didn't like that when I went to select my nail color, most of the nail polishes were dry already. So I had very limited nail colors to pick from. Overall, the ladies giving the pedicures were very nice but like I said above, it wasn't the best pedicure I've had. The nail salons at the beach are better with their deluxe pedicures. I had an appointment at 11:00 and I got there at 10:45 and was getting a full set put on within minutes. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The cleanest nail salon I have been to in Panama City since moved here a year ago. The price was really good, $30, when I was paying $55 somewhere else. My only complaint would be he didn't check that all my nails were the same length before painting, so one of my nails are too big. We tried to make an appointment at 3 but was told to come in at 2. They were aware that it was two people for full sets and when we got there we had to take turns cause there was one person there to do acrylics and turns out in the end she was a new girl. She hurt me and another employee had to ask if I was okay and she screwed mine and my friends nails up. Ring finger was supposed to be flames but doesn't quite look like it. Was quoted $35 over the phone then they wanted to say it was $5 to get them shaped. Oh also she glued my fingers together and tried to avoid fixing it until she literally had to pull them apart. Ok. So at far as nail salons go, Happy Nails is... well, it's the most laid back, friendly one I have been to yet. Mrs. Way (idk the correct spelling) is Amazing!! All the techs are, really. they greet you as you come in, even if you don't have an appointment on a Tuesday afternoon. Romeo, another nail tech, is just sweet as pie! The salon is beautifully decorated and although it's a higher end salon, you can still talk above a whisper! They talk with you, joke with you, laugh with you, let you cry if you need to, all while doing an incredible job on your nails. I made the mistake about a month ago to go to a slightly cheaper salon, and will never do so again. I will wait patiently for them, because their quality is superb, their color selection is massive and my nails have never been stronger! I highly, highly recommend Happy Nails. P.S. I will start by saying I have been coming here for a year, because they are consistent. Not a great foot or hand massage, but nails look good when I leave. Normally they are very nice and chatty. I stopped in today and they were quite full, and I asked if there was 'any chance of a pedicure?' One woman replied with 'not right now'. Which is fine. I was a walk in. But then I asked 'should I come back in a few hours?' And I was told by a different woman 'we can get you in before 7 PM.' Well, that is not a helpful reply at 1:30 in the afternoon, and their tone was not taken well by me. And no one made a move to try to book me a time. I will not return based solely on their rudeness. Currently at Happy nails and I'm sitting on the pedicure chair. The guy that is doing my pedicure is rushing through the whole process. When we initially began he was sitting with another customer and he was told to switch with the other tech, by whom I presume to be his boss, he begrudgingly moved to me. He never once greeted me and acted as if working on me was a total chore. He has been rough up until the very end. I feel like I bothered his day in some way. This place was recommended to me by, get this part, a person that is family to the owners. I will never come here again based solely on this experience. Came in for a mani/pedi with my cousin. I sat in a chair next to my cousin who was halfway done with her service before my tech even showed. She seemed inexperienced (found out later she was new, suspicions confirmed) and interested in everything but my feet. She didn't speak a word (NOT to be confused with not understanding English!!) To top it off, she was rough, and I mean rough. She cut me several times, my toes were bloody and burning because she continued, seemingly unaware that I was in pain. I jerked my feet several times but she was too interested in the television to notice and just pulled my feet back to her and continued on. Now for the worst part (yes, it gets worse) not only is my cousin completely done with mani and pedi at this point, waiting for me to begin my mani, my paint job is looking a hot mess. We've been here a while already so I reluctantly head to the manicure station. Before I could get started, my husband called and said he had been in an accident. Naturally I had to leave immediately. I spoke with the woman who presented herself as the owner and informed her I was absolutely appalled at the treatment I received and that I had no time for a redo at this moment. She seemed irritated but offered for me to come back the next day and have my toes painted again. Fast forward to the next day, I come in, sit me with THE SAME GIRL, I politely requested someone else (hello? I wasn't happy with her yesterday, don't waste my time) opted to just get a basic French tip. This time, the paint was still pretty sloppy and I was, let's say, highly upset and frustrated. I'm walking out the door and who catches me by the arm? The woman who owns the place! She kept screaming "5 dollars, you owe me 5 dollars!" How embarrassing! A salon full of customers is watching me be basically dragged BACK into the building and scolded like a child. I reminded her I was here the day before and she acknowledged that she was aware but "French tip cost $5 extra" I handed her the money and left, unhappy, mortified, and STILL rocking a jacked up paint job. Subpar service, however one of the owners are okay. Basically, moving here from another state and not knowing of any places to go I decided to go here, being that this place was up the street from my house I thought I'd give it a try. The "owner" that checks people in when you arrive to the place was extremely rude. Mind you that this is not the only time that he has catered to the other girls that come in (different ethnicity than myself, Caucasian to be exact) but this was the last straw. Normally he jokes around with the other girls (again different skin color than myself) he basically barely speaks when I come in and is rude. So I'm sitting in my chair getting my nails & toes done and I'm there for over 30 mins. He walks by me several times didn't say a thing to me. There's two other girls that come in, that he sits next to me. They are laughing with him, telling each other stories and so on. They were seated maybe 5 mins before he offers them and the lady beside them drinks! I'm like WOOOW!!! I've been sitting here alone almost 30 minutes and he hasn't approached me once and asked me if I wanted anything! This is not the first time that he has done this to me. I'm a loyal customer that spends $40-$50 every time that I come and for minor things, and this is how I get treated. The work is not great here. Every time that I leave I'm never satisfied. They are a joke at that place. I'd run far away. Especially if you have the same color as me, because he is not nice & he's arrogant. I'm sure that he will basically ignore you. It's a shame but, I'll be glad to take my money elsewhere. read more
