This place continues to be amazing! The staff is super friendly. I once again had Mexicali bowl and it did not disappoint. I love their fermented veggies. I'm considering buying a container of them on my next visit. I will also be grabbing a bowl of soup next time I come here for lunch. They are so tasty and flavorful. Who knew eating vegan could be so flavorful! Although I'm not vegan, I do enjoy eating vegan meals here and there and plan to incorporate more in my daily life. Give Happy Pantry a try, you wont be disappointed. Thei Kombucha is super yummy too!

Making new friends is great but it's even better when your new friends introduce you to incredible new food spots. Words can not do this place justice. Just go order one of everything and thank me later!

Hands down best soup EVER!!!! Every day a new soup, every time it's been delicious. Who's the creator of this delicious soups?! I'd love to shake their hand. Always makes my day when I see that story on Instagram pop up to find out what the soup of the day is! The people in there are so nice and the vegan food is wonderful. I wish they would have a cooking class on how to make some fermented foods. Ok update. I just tried the walnut tacos and I'm so upset I haven't tried them earlier!!! I've been missing out on the most delicious raw vegan food! They had samples of the dried mango and kale chips that were so good too!

Harissa kraut - probably my favorite variety

I'm not a vegan or even a health food nut but I'm a huge fan of Happy Pantry kraut. They make really unique flavor combinations and it's fun to switch it up between flavors. They always have samples available so you can try the latest concoctions. There is a huge difference between this artisan small-batch kraut and anything you buy at the grocery store. The price may seem high but the jars are packed very densely so you get quite a few servings per jar.

What a super great and cute place! After spending their fair share of time at Farmers Markets all around the San Diego, Rebekah and husband have finally opened up their own spot in North County and a retail shop! Now keep in mind that they have only been open a week and they are still adding more to their retail store, but I love it in there already! I came in with my friends yesterday and had some tasting of their current kombucha on tap. They've got about 7 or 8 different on tap right now and you want to make sure to come and check to see what they have because they make a couple batches at a time and then they switch them out so there is something new when you go. When I was here I tried the Wildflower Jun. I simply just loved the taste of the jun. It's got a great honey taste to it and it is just hands down one of my favorites. They've also got some great stuff brewing here. They've currently got some sunchokes and cauliflower that are being pickled. They make their own pickles here as well and have some delicious sauerkraut that they jar and sell here. Everything is make in shop and one of the best things about it is that they use Carlsbad Alkaline Water in their products. I can't wait for them to start up with their classes!!

hadn't given it much thought till the other morning when i was cleaning out my "tupperware" drawer and realized how many old HAPPY PANTRY jars i had. we usually grab some of their fermented foods (pickles and the unique varieties of SAURKRAUAT and KIMCHI are my favorites) when we stumble across their stall as we wander around the VISTA FARMER's MARKET. their offerings are unique and well crafted.

I recently had some friends in town over the holidays, and they ran across Happy Pantry at a farmers market in Hillcrest. They shared one of the kombuchas that they had purchased down there, and I've been hooked ever since. About the kombucha - They use Carlsbad Alkaline Water (Henceforth CAW), which is super cool. Now honestly, the CAW tastes like normal tap water to me, but there's constantly people filling up whatever can hold water down at the CAW spot in Carlsbad Village. It's a testament to quality products that Happy Pantry chose to use CAW in lieu of of plain filtered water. Happy Pantry's kombuchas are awesomely flavored, with selections such as ginger-lime-cherry, pomegranate-pineapple-orange, and vanilla-pineapple-orange. The selections are constantly changing with new things to try weekly. I should add that their kombucha varies in levels of carbonation. Some you hardly hear a hiss when you twist the cap, some want to explode like a shaken soda. This isn't a big deal for me, but your mileage may vary. But it's not all about kombucha, Happy Pantry deals in many probiotic foods such as sauerkraut, pickles, and kimchi. I've had two different types of their sauerkraut and kimchi, and they were both incredible. The pickles looked off the chart delicious, and I look forward to trying some when available. What I really like about this place is the customer service. The people in the storefront are incredibly helpful and passionate about what they do. They are always very honest about what to try and not to try, which is refreshing. For example, I was looking at two types of sauerkraut today, and asked which one was better. There was a strong recommendation of one over the other. Super cool. Happy Pantry has a recycling incentive. Return the glass from their products and get a card stamped. Fill up the card, free kombuchas. I love this! It appears that they have some fermenting crocs for sale, and I've read in other reviews that you can purchase a SCOBY for brewing your own kombucha, but I'd rather have Happy Pantry keep brewing it for me, and continue to support this outstanding local business.

I get kombucha and kraut every week, takes care of my gut for the week. At the Hillcrest and Little Italy farmers market you can try all flavors before you buy. All flavors are unique and very high quality using local organic products, handcrafted. I just cracked open a strawberry vanilla kombucha for dessert and its insaneee.

Fermented Food! If you are a fan you must try their selection of homemade fermented food. They make the most amazing creative vegan food at lunch, so much flavor, so satisfying. They also have Kombucha on tap and you can bring any container as they sell it by the oz. if you are in Carlsbad you should stop by. Try their liver tonic too. This is the vegan walnut tacos with avo, fresh cilantro and spicy spirulina salsa!!! These are so delicious I could cry with joy!!!

This place is too good! Been here a number of times. All vegan and super fresh ingredients. They source from local farmers . The soups at lunch time are amazing too. Sometimes the soups tend to be over the top fiery but if your mouth can handle the fire go for it! Everything is seasoned with excellence. I love their refrigerated bowls made fresh daily.

I really loved the indoor/outdoor seating, especially the string lights at night--they made the space feel warm and welcoming. There was also a nice variety of seating, including benches, chairs, and stools. That being said, the prices are ridiculous! I paid over $3 for a canned soda. I bought 4! The pizza was also a little disappointing and wasn't anything special. Customer service was okay--nothing bad, but nothing that really stood out either. Overall, I enjoyed the atmosphere and the setup, but I think the food and especially the prices could use some improvement.
