Jose is the bartender and jack of all trades! Friendly and accommodating. The kombucha flights are the best. Highly recommended if you've never had kombucha! It's also a cool local venue to get out for an evening! Love the live music on Friday nights to kick off the weekends! Popped in to get some to~go for a Holiday event we'll be attending. I like to be the one who introduces a new something or other that I've been exposed to via either by discovering on my own or from a previous Yelp exposure/experience that I've had. I've had Dr Boochart at their tap room in Esco and at the flower fields in C'Bad and every experience has been a great one! Their KOMBUCHA isn't like the store bought boochas. If you like ciders and Meads this might be more up your alley. The venue has a very fun steam punk theme. Our Booch tender and "mixologist" for the day was Lily. She has this we've been friends for a long time even tho we've just met vibe about her. Very cool and pleasant. She informed me of the current deal of "buy three 22oz bottles and get 8$ off". So that's exactly what I did. And if you keep the bottle and bring it back for a refill, on your next visit, it will be a dollar off their regular bottle price. read more

We've stopped in here a few times now as a mid week hang out spot. Good alcoholic and non alcoholic kombucha options. Lots of little stashed away spots to sit, a neat ambiance. A little fun, a little cheesy, definitely commits to the theme. Personally we avoid live music nights, it's kind of all you can hear since the place is one big hallway. Located in downtown Escondido, there are many flavors of kombucha. My favorite was steam punk mule. You can get a flight of 4 for about $16 with tax. They all tasted lovely. The nice thing about this place is, it's quiet. Great to chill out and relax by yourself or have a conversation. You don't have to yell over loud sport tvs or over hundreds of people. It's very cozy. I love the vibe here, it's a fun place with awesome décor. Every single person working here has been extremely friendly and inviting making me enjoy coming back again and again. I have been here multiple times for trivia as well as randomly popping in from time to time. I have noticed that the taste of various kombucha tends to vary a bit from time to time, which when you find the perfect one can be a bit disapointing on another visit. I didn't know what to expect when we decided to visit this newer kombucha place on Grand Avenue. It's really like a cool steampunk inspired lounge. There is a table outside and a good amount of space inside to enjoy your drink. The staff is so nice and very well informed about their offerings. They were friendly and it felt really relaxed inside. They have pints for $12 and flights of four tasters for $14. They have both alcoholic and nonalcoholic offerings which is cool too. Dr. Boochart is a welcomed addition to Grand Ave. More drinkeries are always a plus and while the area has beer and booze, hard kombucha didn't have much of a presence...until now. They have a menu of about 8 hard kombuchas on any given day and a couple nonalcoholic versions as well. The place has a steampunk vibe, ample seating, friendly service, live music several nights per week and just sort of a fun vibe that meshes well with the neighborhood. As far as the drinks go, my personal fav was the Steam Hopper, a hopped kombucha. Good stuff! read more

A really awesome, new kombucha place on Grand Avenue! There is tons of seating inside, wheelchair accessible, a few tables outside, and a bathroom inside. The interior is so cool, with tables, beautiful red couches, and lots of pictures and signs about a scientist named Dr. Boochart. The woman working at the bar was very friendly and answered all my questions! They have alcoholic and non-alcoholic kombucha, different flavors, ones to drink there in glasses, and ones to go! What a fun place! LOVE the decor! Stopped here after eating at the Sushi Restaurant up the street. I really like kombucha so this place is awesome for me and my tastes. The bartender was extremely friendly and service was fast. My favorite was the Pomegranate Jalapeno and the Lime Ginger Mule. Both were incredible. My hubby is not a Kombucha fan so he was glad that they have an IPA on tap too! Really helps for the people who aren't into Kombucha but still want to join the fun. Going to have to make this one of my Go-To Spots more frequently. read more

We first saw this place while attending the chocolate festival. We loved it. The look of it, the guy running the bar, everything. We were reminded of how great it was when at the Bruce Springsteen, running into Eric and Christy in the parking lot. They were from Orange County, and they had been to this place, too. Wanted to see what this new place on Grand was all about, randomly strolled in toward closing time on a Friday and really glad I did. This place is awesome! Cool little vibe, live music, rad people, and was fortunate enough to find myself in a great and inspiring conversation with the owner Chaz, who's truly an amazing guy. The kombucha is fantastic, not only does it taste great but it's been studied deeply and formulated over many years by Chaz who is a holistic doctor. The health benefits are on another level. Chaz has perfected it. I haven't written a review in years, but Chaz was such a cool guy with positive energy I want people to know they need to come check this place out! Disappointed. We love hard kombucha and were super excited to have this addition on Grand. $13 for a single pint is expensive....and it seemed watery. We tried 2 flavors and didn't care for either. I've been slow to board the kombucha train but for my first time, I rode first class! We stopped in on a second Saturday to check it out and stayed for a bit longer than anticipated thanks to the delicious kombucha, friendly and knowledgeable staff and the acoustic entertainment. There are so many quaint little seating areas throughout the place and the restroom is sparkling clean and big enough for ten or so people LOL! There's something beautiful to look at no matter where you are in the place including Karl and Lindsay who were so personable and engaging it hurt to leave. If you're like me and missed the kombucha bus, the staff know just what to recommend and will explain in as much detail as you want all about the process. If all kombucha was this nutritious and delicious, I would easily replace my wine and spirit intake with it! Also, be careful how much you drink on an empty stomach because that kombucha will f*ck you up! My only suggestion is if they could serve some type of food like charcuterie or something filling. Nothing will keep me from coming back here with all my friends and telling the world to do the same! read more

Wow! This has to be the best hard kombucha I've had. I'm generally not a huge fan of hard kombuchas because they always end up tasting very same-y, but all of Dr. Boocharts have a very unique taste. The unique theme and friendly service are just the icing on top. Between my girlfriend and myself, we tried the full menu. I highly recommend the Pomegranate Popper, the Steampunk Mule, and the Gizmo's Lemonade, but you can't go wrong with any of them. Highly recommended! read more
