Loved the chicken souvlaki, cheeseburger and onion rings! Great to see a new deli at this location. Nice remodel and outdoor seating.

They serve up some of the best Connecticut ice creams from local brand like Salam Valley Farms, Praline's, Big Dipper, and Buck's Ice Cream, just to name a few. There are many, many flavors to choose from and toppings that they offer flights. They even have ice cream nachos & affogatos. It's a must to get more than one flavor. I tried a scoop of Blueberry Cheesecake & Raspberry White Chocolate in a waffle cone. They were delicious with a lot of flavor. My favorite was the Raspberry White Chocolate because it had a lot of white chocolate chips. The other people I was with got a scoop of Cookie Monster in a cup and Coffee Cookies n' Cream Milkshake. The staff was super nice and quick with the busy mall crowd. They do have a hand-held menu with the descriptions of the ice creams because the amount of ice cream in the freezers can get overwhelming. The shop opened next to the food court which was very convenient for seating. I really love this new addition to the mall, especially that it is all local ice creams. Five out of five stars all day for me!

My fiancé and I shared a banana split, and it was great to be able to choose different flavors from Praline's and Big Dipper. This is one of my favorite concepts to be able to choose ice cream from different creameries under the same roof!

Mere blocks from the beach, Walnut offers a diversified selection of flavors. So many, that I wanted to try them all. I sampled the Butter Beer, Nutella, and Lavender & Fig. They were all delicious. I ended up getting a scoop of Nutella and a scoop of Lavender. The ice cream was a near perfect consistency. Cold enough to eat and soft enough to easily scoop. It is definitely a popular spot as there was always a line during my experience here. Even so, the staff is efficient and friendly. This is a must stop if you are in the area.

The place is very cute and quaint and the girls working were efficient and friendly and kept the line moving. I decided on a scoop of Mad Mollye which was Belgium chocolate with cinnamon and Oreos. I am a sucker for chocolate and cinnamon. I also got some chocolate chips on mine. My fiancé did a scoop of mint chocolate chips on a sugar cone but the ice cream was so runny they had to put it in a cup with cone on top. I liked my ice cream. Great flavor! My fiancé was super bummed about his. Not sure we would come back together as his experience not great, but I would come back to try another flavor.

If you've never had rolled ice cream before, definitely give Ice and Fire located in the food court…read moreat the Connecticut Post Mall a try. They have a fairly extensive menu that also includes boba tea, smoothies, and more! I always opt for the rolled ice cream since that's what they specialize in, and I'm pretty sure they're the only store around serving it too. Expect a bit of a wait though since it's made-to-order and a fairly labor-intensive process! You get to watch them craft your creation on a frozen pan, but it can take longer than 5 minutes to prepare, and even longer during peak times. The texture is denser than traditional ice cream and the colder serving temperature makes rolled ice cream less prone to melting quickly, allowing you to bask in its deliciousness for a longer period of time without it turning into a soupy mess. Personally I feel they go a little overboard with the toppings, so for a slightly less sweet experience, you should definitely customize your order a bit. It's a good option when you want a twist from the ordinary. Although Ice and Fire is Asian-inspired, the offerings are definitely Americanized to appeal to a broader audience. I'm hoping their success paves the way for more shops specializing in traditional Asian desserts in the future! Definitely need a place that offers shaved ice in the area!
