My great dane Duke comes here on a monthly basis for a few nights at a time, he is always happy to go and tired from playing when I pick him up. Staff seems to have bonded with him as well which makes it easier on me. Pricing seems reasonable and I will be coming here for the foreseeable future. My wife and I have been bringing our boxer Blake to Happy Tales weekly since before Summer and her hubby took over the place 6 or so years ago. During that time they have done one upgrade after another to make it the awesome pet paradise that it has now become. Probably the best compliment I can give them is how excited Blake was every time I took him there - he knew where he was going and couldn't wait to get there that can only be a good thing. Is it fancy? No. Is it convenient? Not really, it makes me go the long way to get home. How was the customer service? Alright, long wait times but people seem like dog people. I love this place. This summer, we were in Bend for a month. I was checking out a place for our dog to board so I popped in and asked if I could look around. Person took me back where the dogs stayed and showed me outside were they played. Everything was perfectly clean, no odor and very tidy. The people working there are nice, professional and really care about pets. They also go above the call of duty. Recently, I had an accident and broke my leg. I had just moved here and knew no one. I was in a wheelchair. I couldn't take care of my dog. Happy Tails came and got her and she stayed with them until my husband arrived with our furniture five days later. (It was a cross country move and there were weather problems which delayed moving van) I honestly couldn't have made it without them. They'll feed how you feed, will let them have special blankets or dog beds where they sleep too! You can add extra personal attention/walks/ball throws if you'd like! We had Koda bathed before we picked him up once and that was AMAZING. There's also grooming available! Our dog isn't a fan of big dogs and they had no problem keeping him with dogs more his size. I have been bringing my boy here for a few years now and can say without hesitation that I will not bring him anywhere else for boarding or grooming within a 100 mile radius. My pup is an Akita with a cautious nature and can be very weary about who he trusts, which is something we have in common, but he wholeheartedly loves the staff here and gets genuinely excited to stay. This is a well maintained facility and everyone who works here has the upmost concern for the wellbeing of your pup. I have zero worries when I drop Kenai off and can leave for any trip with the peace of mind that he is being well looked after. We got into Redmond late on a Sunday evening right before Christmas. The Resort we were staying at claimed to be pet freindly but that turned out to be false. After calling around to 3-4 other pet care places (all booked up) Lynette at Happy tails came to our rescue, taking in our two pups for the week. The best pet lodging experience we have ever had. I ended up driving out there personally and apparently it was Lunch time the girl looked at me smiled locked the door and walked away. I tried calling one last time as my day I needed them was approaching still no return call. Had to find another place. I have been bringing my dog here for the past 3 years, and they have been great. He absolutely loves coming here. I can drop him off in the morning and be confident that he will be happy and safe until I pick him up after work. I bring him for daycare, grooming, and boarding. He is happy when I drop him off and happy and tired from playing all day when I pick him up. I've boarded him here for a week at a time and they are very attentive to any instructions that I have for him. He's stayed in a condo and a cabana, and I'm pretty sure he's had better accommodations than me LOL. The people,that work there have become very important people to us. We neglected to read Smith Rock State Park's pet policy before making the 6 hour drive from Washington with our dog. This State Park not only requires that you keep your dog on leash, but you cannot leash your dog to any object like a tree or rock. Belaying my climbing partner while holding a leash was going to be a nightmare so we were so happy to have found Happy Tales. They accepted our dog for daycare as a walk-in, & the price was totally reasonable at $15. The only reason I don't give the business 5 stars is that the dogs only have 2 play sessions rather than a full day of play. He was super hyper from being caged for a good part of the day when we returned to pick him up; however, we we're able to get permission to play fetch with him in one of Happy Tales's fenced yards before getting back in the car for the long journey home. read more

My pup loves it at Happy Tales. When we had a family change last summer, our pup needed more attention and a co-worker recommended Happy Tales. The daily day care (been doing this weekdays for the past 8 months) and overnight care (so far only did it once but it was great) is priceless for the health of my pup. She gets social skills, burns some energy and has something to do when I am at work and I don't feel guilty. The team that work there are helpful, supportive, friendly and the love the dogs and make me feel that they really care... It's not just a paycheck for them. I just picked up my pup this morning after a 13 day trip. I assumed that he would have had a very basic level of care at the least, as I had expressed some concerns and that I would be gone for almost two weeks. When I picked him up he was matted, and smelling strongly of urine (I had just had him groomed, and didn't buy the extra charge grooming they provide) throughout the day after I picked him up he had a very barky cough (he was up to date on all of his shots) he is a small breed, so I don't know if it's kennel cough, or if they didn't use his harness that I left and put a collar on him and collapsed his trachea...he was definitely not in the same state of mental, or physical health as I had dropped him off as...PLEASE BEWARE... read more

My girlfriend and I dropped off our two German sheperds there for the weekend. They both got baths and when we picked them up they smelt so good and I knew they had a good time! Nice viewing area, and GREAT staff! We knew when we dropped them off they were gonna love it. The facility was also very clean and they had a few different play areas for the dogs (ball field, outdoor play, indoor play). The prices were very reasonable as well :)! Over the past years we have boarded 3 different breeds, sizes of dogs and have never been disappointed with Happy Tales. Of course, we do wish we could drop/pick up during their noon break because flight times don't always coordinate but we work around it. They changed their dropoff hours without telling customers that had existing reservations. We showed up at 12:45 pm when apparently they stopped allowing dropoffs at 12:30. There was someone working there, and she hid from us behind a desk, on the floor. The door was open, and when we spoke with her, she said we could not drop off our dog. She was sarcastic and kept rolling her eyes at us. This kid has a great future. She initially lied and said there was no supervisor she could call, but then did call someone, who told us to come back 2 hours later. That would not work, because it would make us miss our flight. So we took our dog home and had to ask a favor of our neighbors. It was the worst customer service experience I've had in decades. We've been coming to this kennel for 15 years, and it used to be a great place. We're done, but at least we took the photo of our dog off the wall on our way out.
