Kim is a great teacher who praises when praise is warranted and firm when it comes to safety issues and paying attention. I loved that. This isn't your average "pony ride.' My grandkids groomed, sprayed and saddled the horses (with lots of help from Kim, her daughter, and other experienced riders). They learned some riding basics and after the grooming/saddling/instruction, were able to ride by themselves in a large fenced in area. I highly recommend this stable if you happen to be in the area. I have worked with many humans but never animals. A chance was taken with me, and amazing things happened. Through our work, I learned how to communicate with horses and help heal their past dramas, and Judy & Shelly's horses were able to get the help they needed. Morning Star farm is a special place. I had gone horseback riding once over the summer, but I am definitely a newbie and Linda guided us on what to do (ex: lean back when going downhill and lean forward when going uphill). I love that we got to walk AND trot and cross streams. My horse Sarge was a former NYPD horse and he was very good and well behaved (although he was quick and ate some grass before I could stop him while on the trail). After we finished, Linda helped take some photos of us and we got to meet the other horses in the stable. I would absolutely recommend coming here!!!

Horses are well trained, and unlike other trail horses, they take a wide swath through the trees and don't try to pin you. It's obvious that they take good care of their horses. The horses are extremely well-trained and great for my boyfriend who was riding a horse for the first time. The pricing is very reasonable at $40 per person per hour. Even though we were 15 minutes behind schedule, we weren't rushed at all and Molly even went over the hour limit. It was a very gorgeous ride through the property of the farm - woods & field. Luckily the rain time shifted and we arrived 20 minutes before our appointment for 3pm to sign waivers. We took pics with the horses that were there and we had time to pet them. I pet mouse the entire time and when we were assigned horses, my husband said i wanted mouse. I recommend not picking your own horse & just having a horse be assigned to you. The workers know the horses best. Mouse is on the slower side but I still enjoyed my time on him. They know which horse hasn't been out yet, has more energy for the ride, etc. All the horses did a great job and they're friendly. At the end of the ride, mouse turned around to look at me while I was still on him. He's so funny... I guess he wanted to see who kept talking him. On the ride we saw turkeys and deer.
