Happy Wok made us happy today. Just driving by and stopped even though it had only 2.5 stars. Lunch special at 7.65 each that includes a meat dish, rice, and soup, that's amazing in these days prices! Make sure to take plastic utensils on the table and ask for napkins since it's not automatically included. The hot and sour soup could use a little more sour and sweetness but other than that, highly recommend them for a quick lunch stop! I found my food very enjoyable. I ordered a few different items. Sweet n sour chicken, nice chunks of white meat and delicious breading not greasy good sauce. Chicken mei fun delicious. Chicken low mein delicious. I order Chinese food because I like it, I want it to taste good not different from another place? This was by far the most disgusting meal I have EVER had the misfortune to get. first of the actual food came to 42.55 but with the " fees " it cost 57.52 ! Th first fee of 20 % was the same if it was delivered or we picked it up which was 7.32 , then 1.00 menu fee ( WTF ) then a delivery fee of 2.00 then a 1.46 Svcs fee ( again WTF ) , then of course tax of 3.19. We planned to pick it up but since the "fee " was the same we decided d to have it delivered. It did arrive quickly, that is the only good thing I can say. I ordered the Sweet and Sour triple delight and what I got can only be described as golf ball sized greasy uncooked dough. You couldn't tell which was chicken, or pork or shrimp ! I threw most of the greasy dough away that was around the tiny pieces of meat or shrimp. The rest went in the fridge with napkins on top to try and absorb some of the grease. I'll actually probably end up throwing it out, it was that gross. Even the pork fried rice was tasteless. I usually get a gift certificate at Christmas for a friend, who , for some unknown reason likes the place. I expect there will be a million "fees " attached to it, so there is NO WAY I will ever get her one again. Then, while looking for a place to put a review I found many negative reviews and one person whose credit card called in was compromised...twice ! So this place is conveniently located very close to me. They have online ordering which is nice. The food is edible but not that good compared to other chinese places in the area. I feel like most of the meat dishes I've gotten have been overcooked and dry or too greasy. Most recently was their boneless BBQ spareribs. The sauce was ok but lots of dry black burnt pieces. I got shrimp toast too and these came in a Styrofoam container which doesn't soak up any oil. Way too oily, filling looked grayish and unappetizing and the outside was a very dark color verging on being burnt. This order of 2 appetizers also took quite a while and was not ready when I went in for the pick up. I've tried to like this place since it's so close but I think we'll be ordering elsewhere for our Chinese from now on. read more

This place is terrible to say the least. Many others say this place is far superior than others in the area, which may be true for some dishes.. But that doesn't automatically make Happy Wok good. They're just the best of the worst, which is still bad. I'd stay away from this place, they constantly screw up the orders. They take extremely long for delivery (I'm 1.5 miles away, they take 1 hour + constantly). Asking to speak to management is flat out refused. The food, I might add is terrible. read more

The only place we get chinese from. It's actually the only place that makes all of our favorites the way we like. Chicken fried rice, lo mein, wonton soup, General Tso's and Sweet & Sour chicken are all fantastic snd always fresh. The staff is super friendly and always seemnhappy to see you. read more

I like that you can order the food online. I had the wonton soup, egg rolls,sweet and sour chicken, and fortune cookies. They even gave me extra fortune cookies! The food is not greasy either and it's very very good! The service is friendly and quick and they are nice people. The price is affordable too. read more

I'm pretty disappointed with the service yesterday. I ordered via Beyond Menu at 5:02 PM. At 6:10 PM we still hadn't received our meal. I checked the app again and it said "Delivery 5/16/18 5:38 PM." My credit card was already pending. I called Happy Wok and spoke with a young girl. She said "it will be there really really soon." She didn't ask for any information just assured the meal was out for delivery. I called back at 6:24 PM when the meal still hadn't arrived. The same girl assured it was going to be arriving "really, really soon." This time she even asked for my address. I called back a third time explaining that I wanted to make sure there wasn't a mistake because it still wasn't there at 6:42 PM. She said "wait... what's your address?" So I gave it to her and she said "oh there must have been a mistake. We never got your order." So I explained how I called three times, how our credit card was already charged and how the app said it was delivered. She said "oh sorry do you want me to have beyond menu cancel the order?" No offer of rushing a dinner, no offer of a discount next time for our almost two hour inconvenience, nothing. I told her the next time someone calls asking about an order she should really check the first time to make sure they have an order in. We won't be doing business with Happy Wok anytime soon. I wanted to like this place, but just because the food is hot doesn't make it edible. I got the Gen Tsao chicken & an egg roll. The chicken was that balled up, veiny mystery meat and the oil it was fried in must have been old. The sauce was sour and scarce. The egg roll had a slimy texture inside. Threw it away. read more

Possibly one of the worst place I have ever been in. I ordered the mongolian beef, when I got home, the guy did not close the lit close enough and the sauce leaked all over my kitchen counter when I opened the bag. I went back to the restaurant, the chef smirked at me, and was not even apologetic about it. My usual go-to Chinese place is Victory in Deptford. Since they don't deliver this far, I decided to order from Happy Wok. I called them at 10:30pm when they were about to close at 11 to order dinner. The woman who took my call was pleasant and eager. I was anticipating someone to be annoyed that I was placing an order for delivery so close to their closing time. After I hung up, the food arrived in 20 minutes. The delivery man was pleasant as well. The food came fresh and hot! Although I think that Victory has better pork fried rice and dumplings, this place doesn't disappoint. The sweet and sour chicken wasn't overcooked and they gave a lot of it. The Chinese pizza was a little soggy but it's better than it being crunchy and overdone. The pork fried rice lacks a little flavor but the fresh veggies help it. The dumplings are good but again, I think Victory has better. The sauce that is provided with the dumplings and the Chinese pizza is very good. This place has great service so I don't mind ordering from here if I don't feel like driving to pick it up. I live less than a mile away and delivery took 90 minutes. Half of the order was missing. The other half was cold. I contacted them about missing items and they said it would be a long long time before they could send the other items. I ended up going to the restaurant to ask for a refund on the missing items. It was a bad experience and I don't recommend them as there are much better choices nearby. read more

I've ordered from Happy Wok in West Deptford for quite a while now, but lately, the food has greatly decreased in quality. Placed a delivery order tonight and the food was horrible. Every item was so soaked with grease and oil, it was gross; the egg roll actually had so much grease in it that the grease actually dripped down my hand and and all over my clothes.
