The three dishes that I ordered all tasted pretty good. I think the owner raised the price when they the new Menu in May, 2021 with average +$1. The Double Cooked Pork though tastes pretty good, the ingredients were not the traditional recipe. The meat is supposed to be cured pork and cooked with leek. This dish used shredded pork with cabbage, garlic and green pepper soaked in lots of sauce. The other two selections were just as I expected but the Singapore Rice Noodle could use a little bit more shrimp. They do serve huge portion, so you won't feel hungry after finishing your selection. read more

Don't blink, or you will definitely miss this place... This little takeout gem sits back off the road, along with its strip mall buddies. I us d to drive a half hour from the food desert I live in to buy what I considered to be really good Chinese food. Never knowing that one third of that distance from home is a really good Chinese takeout. Shan's was found by luck and no other options late one evening. Having been here a few times now, I have no problem recommending this place to anyone. Every appetizer and meal that I've bought have been outstanding. Right here for the first time on my husband's recommendation. We'll never go here again the food was subpar. Honestly it was the worst Chinese food I've ever had. I've had better on the street corner in the middle of the night. The prices online is not correct. It seems they charge what they want to. $35 and I didn't even get to entrees I got two appetizers one on tray. Her online menu it should have been 27. So if you go there be warned you're going to be overcharged and have crappy food. And don't even bother calling back cuz she'll just yell at you and then hang up on you. Just moved to NJ and was unfamiliar with good Chinese restaurants. So I yelped it and took the advice of a few others. Well, they didn't disappoint! There were a few people in the waiting room. And several people coming in for pick up. It ran smoothly, and we didn't have the long wait I anticipated. We ordered General Tso Chicken and shrimp fried rice. They seriously make the best Chinese takeout in South Jersey! Trust me on this and you will thank me later! I've been eating from this location for about 4 years when my office use to be around the corner. They have been consistent and they're prices haven't changed. I got two because I will be up all weekend. First I got shrimp and broccoli with white sauce. It's pretty good. I also got my good old vegetarian option. I use to eat this every other day when I was living up here. Just broccoli and eggplant with a garlic sauce. And brown rice. The combo also comes with egg rolls and if you want shrimp egg rolls ask it's only a few dollars more but well worth the money. All this for 16 dollars. read more

Although the outside of this business is nothing to rant about, it's definitely a awesome mom/pop Chinese food place. We ordered from them, and they were very understanding. Upon arrival, we were greeted by a very young man, maybe (12) but he was very knowledgeable and efficient. The price wasn't bad either. I really like that they cook with 100% vegetable oil, and no MSG's... or so they say. The food wasn't bad either, we got typical General Toa's, and it was great, the platter was a little small but it wasn't too expensive. I would highly recommend Shan's. I absolutely love Chinese food and truly believe that several take out places have best sellers! I normally go for dumplings, any kind of noodles or something along the lines of sesame or general chicken when I get takeout. I have not had a variety from Shan's but I did try their amazing chicken and it's amazing. It's got a thin but crunchy coating and the sauce is a combination of sweet and spicy! What I liked the most about it was the sauce was thinner than that of sesame or general chicken but the flavor!!! I could pour that sauce over everything!!! It is a must try! read more

QUALITY FOOD AND SERVICE!!! Best Chinese Takeout in the area! I've been ordering Shan's over the past year for lunch at my job nearby. My coworker and I love the House Special Fried Rice made Spicy. They are able to upgrade your Fried Rice with combination meals. I just ordered today and I actually locked my keys in my car after already putting my food in there. The owner was very accommodating and allowed me to charge my phone while I waited for roadside assistance. She even made me my exact meal fresh and hot for me to eat and gave me a cold water to drink while I was waiting, free of charge. I am beyond satisfied!!! Such nice people. read more

I was in the mood for Chinese food and did a search in my neighborhood and this place came up. I decided to try it and I am so happy i did. I ordered the General Tsao's chicken and the curry chicken. The General Tsao's chicken was crunchy and just enough sauce , it wasn't thick like most places, but lightly coated. My husband said the curry chicken was really good as well. This Chinese take-out restaurant is a hidden gem! This place has amazing food and quick turnaround time. When you place your order for pickup and the chef tells you it will be ready in ten minutes, you can be sure your order will be ready in ten minutes. I love their soups, appetizers, and main entrees. My most favorite entree is the Amazing Chicken. I have ordered from many other Chinese take-outs before and this is the ONLY place where you can find Amazing Chicken. I don't usually like to eat spicy food, but Amazing chicken is an exception, it has the perfect amount of spice that doesn't take away the taste off of your tongue. I'm always hopeful that a "neighborhood" Chinese take out joint will surprise me. I was not surprised here, but for what I expected. The service was friendly and very fast. The place was clean and well kept, which is always a plus. The quick recommendations so far: Wonton Soup Low Calorie Steamed Chicken and Broccoli The nitty gritty: I ordered a Beef Ho Fun, which I requested "dry" and "not too oily". Noodles were good. Beef was a bit thick, but tender enough. Flavor was a little absent. I spiced it up wiyh some hot chili oil though. Wonton soup was delicious and piping hot. The wontons were typical of "neighborhood" joints, which had a littke meat and a lot of wonton skin. Still tasty though. The roast pork fried rice was where a lot of yhe flavor for the beef ho fun went! The texture of the fried rice was right, which was slightly sticky and moist. The color was a clear indicator that the chef used too much soy sauce. There wasn't as much roast pork as I would've liked, and unfortunately the true flavor of the roast pork was masked by the strong soy sauce flavoring. Lastly, they carry low calorie meals with steamed chicken and broccoli and the option of brown rice. They provide a brown gravy sauce on the side, which I thought wasn't even really necessary. read more

We were looking for a good Chinese restaurant in this area, so we gave them a try. Placing the phone order, I found the lady curt and borderline grouchy. When I arrived there for the take-out order, a lady brought out the bag, telling me the order amount. There was no menu clipped to the bag with the order circled or anything indicating what was in the bag, so I asked her to be sure it was my order. She gave me a "look," like "What's your problem?", but she did review the contents. I think it was the same lady that took my phone order. I was the only person there at that moment, by the way, so I don't know why she had an attitude about my making sure it was my order. She did thank me as she handed me the bag after I paid. This restaurant had some good posted reviews, so we were hopeful about the food. My wife said her "Amazing Chicken" was decent, but her spring roll was soggy and bland. My shrimp and broccoli had only four shrimp, just medium in size and over-breaded. The broccoli weren't anything special, same with the fried rice (again, bland). The egg roll was nasty: tough, dense, couldn't even pull it apart. Threw it out. Appetizers were as follows: boneless spare ribs - plenty of them to be sure, but tough and too chewy. Got tired of fighting them so put them aside. The crab rangoon were all chewy, tough-in-texture dough with a smattering of filling deep inside. The bill for this was just under $40 and we would have enjoyed making tuna sandwiches at home more than this uninspired spread. There are too many Chinese takeout places in South Jersey to even consider this place again. But at least they were personable - ha. read more

Did not enjoy my takeout at all. Ordered Shrimp Chow Mein and Shrimp Fried Rice. Expecting crunchy/fried egg noodles with shrimp and veggies. What I got was soggy, mushy cabbage, few strands of carrots and shrimp drowning in a white sauce, with a few fried wonton wrappers. The shrimp fried rice was rice with baby shrimp completely brown with soy sauce and a few bean sprouts. Mostly tasteless. Not ordering from here again. read more

Hidden gem. I love this place. I love the lemon chicken here personally but everything is good. Wonton soup is usually a hit when I take friends and they don't know what to order. My family has been ordering from here for years! They are very efficient and friendly! They have their kids helping along and it's absolutely adorable. Must definitely try the bbq pork ribs hey are exceptional! We also always get beef and broccoli. Try the egg fo young seafood it's also great! You can order while you're on your way there and it'll be down by the time you get there. It takes like 15 minutes for your order to be ready depending on what you get. But they never disappoint.
