So I've been going here for the past four years. I have two rescues. They are my world. I had a good couple of experiences. Then I used them for boarding while we went on vacation. They were extremely well taken care of while we were gone but all the hoops we had to jump through for the year prior with vaccines just to board them for four days was well up to a thousand dollars. I keep going because I feel stuck. Like I can't go anywhere else. They have all my records and then I was there today for what should have been a fifteen minute visit but turned into an hour and a half. I needed one of my dogs nails cut and two were cutting into her paw pad (guilty dog mom moment I know)...90.00 later and two hours later I walked out. A "brief visit" was charged at 42.00. Then I remembered last year when I took both dogs in for just routine vaccines and I walked out paying 875.00. No discount for a second dog; nickled and dimed to the end. I was mad then but didn't do anything about it as it was around Christmas time. So after tonight's fiasco I have found my new vet. And rest assured, while I will pay anything for my babies, I refuse to allow myself to be gouged any longer. read more

Dr. Wayne Cordy is a phenomenal vet. Our kitten Bing had the worst eye infection we have ever witnessed as long time cat parents. His eyes were inflamed infected and glued shut for about two weeks (we were scared of losing him and scared he would go blind) and Dr. Cordy cleared it up with series of antibiotics and eye ointment. He was also very informative. Even when the treatment didn't work right away... he asked that we bring in Bing again to get another look at him and prescribed us another antibiotic. He didn't charge us for a second appointment. His prices were incredibly reasonable and you can tell he genuinely cares about animals. Our little kitten is back to running around with his eyes open and clear. We would go back to Dr. Cordy in a heartbeat. Thank you! read more

Boarded my dogs here this Fall while we were on vacation. I came in for a tour and the girl was wonderful. However apparently all the information she gave me was different when I came back with dogs. I was told my puppy was under the age requirement for playing without being neutered, but that wasn't the case. I didn't find out he wouldn't be able to play until after I booked. I also hate the drop off pick up times. They don't let you pick up your dog after a certain time on Saturdays and they are "closed" Sundays. I say "closed" because they obviously have staff there with the dogs but still don't allow you to come get them. You end up paying for two extra nights. This sort of feels intentional, as most people need to board their dogs weekends. They also require you to get your dogs evaluated by their vet. Another money grab to me because every other place just has you send over their records. I understand a temperate test, but I had to pay for 2 full dog exams. Now I was fine with this because I did like the boarding area when I saw it and I was in a pinch. Except one of the vets, I don't remember her name now, told me my older (5!) dog had arthritis in both back knees. This was based on physical exam only. Now I've never observed anything at home that would lead to this diagnosis and it got me really upset. Needless to say when I brought him to my own vet the next week she said absolutely not. Sure maybe down the line he could develop it as do many large dogs, but this was a very inappropriate diagnosis after spending 3 minutes with my dog the very first visit. I did like the rooms that the dogs were in. It was plenty of space for my two pups to be together. Which was a good thing because every time I looked at the camera they were in there. I am assuming my puppy was crying to be left alone so they just kept both dogs in there all day. Now I am happy they were together, but I have never boarded my older dog in any place that kept they crated or were in a room all day. I specifically picked this place so they could be out and exercising most of the day. I have since moved them over to The Barking Lot for boarding and daycare. It's worth the extra drive to me as the facilities are much nicer and the pickup drop-off times make much more sense. read more

Amazing people! Had to have my dog euthanized due to a terminal illness (Cancer, pancreatic failure, diabetes). She was terminal when I adopted her from the Warren animal shelter. The Doc had already examined her from the local pound when she was found tied under a bridge during low tide. Yes, really. Some POS thought drowning a senior black lab was a good way to avoid paying a vet for medical care or turning her over to Animal Control. Anyway this place took care of her and even though I had payed via check to have her put to rest (After 8 months of being treated like absolute royalty). Not only did they tell me they were sorry about the loss but the Doc did not cash the check. He covered the cost. I can not express my gratitude. read more

Our Golden Retriever went to Harbor in Warren for her annual routine check up with Dr. Cordy and ended up dead. She walked in like her normal self. After an hour or so, THEY CARRIED HER OUT. She could not stand up, had wet herself and they gave NO explanation of what happened to her while in their care. She deteriorated rapidly so we drove to Ocean State Emergency Animal Hospital in E Greenwich, and she died on the way there. NEVER GO TO HARBOR ANIMAL HOSPITAL. I have since heard several horror stories of people who had a horrible experience there. read more

I brought my blue tongue skink, Philo, into the office for an intestinal blockage and the doctor successfully removed it. I searched and searched for someone in the East Bay area to groom my Maine Coon mix cat. Everyone I talked to was either nervous and hesitant about grooming a cat or flat out didn't service cats at all. I have a vet that I love and trust for my feline babies (hello, Spinnaker Animal Hospital!) but I needed a groomer. And a groomer at a vet's office seemed like the perfect situation. There was a slight scheduling snafu initially that led to rescheduling but after all is said and done, I am so happy with the services and the prices were very fair as well. The facilities are brand new and sparkling clean and there is plenty of parking too. Again, I can't attest to the vet services but the grooming is A-Ok by me! read more

I am extremely disappointed in my experience at Harbor Animal Hospital in Warren, RI. The receptionists and vet techs are rude and unhelpful. I've had to call in medication refills and was told that they would call me when it was ready to be picked up. All 3 times this month, I had to call the next day to follow up. Each time I was told "The medication was refilled yesterday, I don't know why no one called you." The last straw was today when I received medication for my dog who had knee surgery. They gave me oral medication with a DIRTY SYRINGE to administer it. The syringe had a brown crusty substance all over the mouth piece. Disgusting and unacceptable. I will be finding a new vet. We called to get the prescription (that he needs to take EVERYDAY) refilled and we are now on day 3 of ZERO communication on their part, oh yeah and still no Medicine for my dog! What a difference a year can make. The turnover rate at the front desk and in the daycare has been pretty substantial. A lot of the familiar faces that made you and your dog feel like family have left. At this time I can not recommend the daycare and it is very sad because they really were the best around. I have taken my dog Shamrock to Dr. Cordy at Harbor Animal Hospital since we adopted him. Harbor's staff has been great every time we visit and my little pal is well cared for by Dr. Cordy. I feel comfortable leaving my little guy at Harbor; the staff treat Shamrock like one of their own pets. I just visited the new facility in Warren and must say that I'm highly impressed. Much more convenient in my opinion than the former Barrington location and way nicer. There is an indoor doggie play area and dog boarding facilities that look like hotel rooms for canines; very cool place. I trust Harbor for my little guy; I'd highly recommend it. read more

Our dog LOVES this doggy daycare! We are new to the area and we looked all over town for the right place for Abby. She is a super friendly golden retriever who loves to have playtime with other dogs. Since we got her from a shelter, we won't take her anywhere that the dogs are crated or kenneled because we don't want to terrify her! But Harbor Animal Hospital has been perfect. We started Abby off with a half day to see how she liked it. She did totally fine - the staff there kept a close eye on her, introduced her to the group slowly, and then gave us a full report of what she did all day. "The next week we took her for a full day, and she LOVED it. When we picked her up and started bring her out to the car, she actually did a full about-face and darted back through the closing doors into the lobby - she did not want to go home with us!!! She's never done THAT before! The staff are all great and friendly, and Abby apparently loves them more than her own family, so I have to give these guys five stars! Also, they have a live webcam during the day, which is both great and terrible - it is a worse time-suck than Facebook. Love it. Can't speak for the veterinary services yet, but the doggy daycare is excellent and I would absolutely recommend it. read more

I have been with Harbor since they opened in Barrington 14+ years ago. Wade is a great vet, with good bedside manners and truly cares for your pets. I have most always had excellent experiences with Wade and most of his staff. But, the business side of Harbor has gone down hill in the past 3-4 years. Customer service barely exists. The front desk staff is inexperienced, very quick with ill tempered replies, and just plain rude. The vet techs have turned over so much, that I don't know any of them and they don't know my dog. After 3 bad experiences in 4 months, I am done with Harbor. read more

Best daycare and animal hospital I have ever used! Courteous, well trained staff, and top notch veterinarians. I can't say enough about how clean this facility is. I also love the fact that you can monitor your dog by video live time feed whether they are indoors or playing outside. Dr Cordy has taken care of my labradoodle since she was 9 weeks old and had to do ovarian spay on her which we were very nervous about. He was meticulous and treated her so kind. She was in minimal pain and healed beautifully with Little to no scarring. I would highly highly recommend the daycare, boarding, and veterinarian services. The communication from the doctor was very poor. I did not talk to the doctor directly in order get answers regarding my elderly cat's surgery. With proper discussion I believe a less evasive solution could've been decided. The risks and benefits were never discussed. The doctor performed an unnecessary evasive surgery and charged me a hefty bill. My cat is having to recover from an unnecessary procedure and I feel horrible about it. I left messages for the doctor to call me to discuss his medical reasoning as to why he took the route he took so that I could feel better about it and I never got a call back. I will be taking my three pets elsewhere. read more

I wanted to tell you how amazing Terri their groomer is. She is kind, thoughtful, fun, and great with out dogs. She grooms our standard poodles as well as our little mix breed dog and our foster dog. In fact she learned about our foster dog and his needs and came in on her day off to help this old man out. He felt better after this grooming and looked great. Gentile and thoughtful and caring those are the words I would describe Terri. She gives them great hair cuts and discusses options that we can do with them when thier coats might need more attention. The doggy daycare team is shockingly bad. After reading several reviews we left our dog at this daycare and upon returning home initiated the webcam. After several playful minutes, it became apparent that an employee was unnecessarily rough - shoving our dog and punishing her for no reason. We were appalled. In particular, the manager Michelle should not be entrusted with any animal outside of a slaughterhouse. We immediately returned to this hateful place and retrieved our puppy. We just started going to HAH. Dr. Cordy was very patient and informative. The staff are friendly, and gentle. My dog, who has some vet anxieties, was calmed down quite quickly, and my cat made herself right at home. Both have recovered completely from their respective mishaps. Compassionate, kind, and caring Vet Dr. Cordy, as well as his staff. A difficult time with our 14 year old dog, Sandy . We struggled with a decision for surgery vs putting her down. Dr. Cordy was patient and very empathetic. He made our dog very comfortable and processed the decisions with us. We had a horrible experience at Bay State Veterinary Hospital previously. Dr. Cordy coordinated care with Mass RI Veterinary E.R., also wonderful staff and Vet there. We are sad that in the end our Sandy had to be put down but she was comfortable and loved. Bad Experience @ Harbor in Warren. Told me my dog had an obstruction and needed $1000 of surgery. admitted the X-Ray machine was giving them problems. I Don't have a $1000, they said (3) times that I could sign the dog over to Them and he would get good care after I gave him up. Put my tail between my legs and went to my previous vet, X-Rays etc."NO SURGERY REQUIRED" dog is fine and still is. Asked them for some money back, they added even more onto the Bill. I went here last week for the first time. My dog has a large lump on her ear the Dr said was a blood clot. He was sincere and explained that with a shot of cortisone and a prescription ointment it might go away (might). Well that was last week and it has gotten worse and bothers her. Its the size of a babys fist. So when i called back today to tell them, I was bounced around to 2 different receptionist who didnt seem to know weather to wind their ass or scratch their watch. They asked if the script worked any, well, they never called it in. Then was told to bring her in ( more money just to see it ) then it will be drained ( more money ) but will probably fill again, so meaning go back again ( money ) and have surgery. Why not cut to the chase and suggest surgery first. Anyway I told them ( politely ) I will go somewhere else but thank you. I did find a reputable vet ( my old vet unfortunately passed away ) and shes getting this awful thing taken care of. Btw, the new vet says these broken blood vessels dont just "go away". Horrific veterinary services for many reasons. First, in order to board your pet, a vet needs to check it to "be familiar with your animal." Nothing like having collegiate competence and using patient records from another doctor. A nice way to make more money. That is the first red flag. Secondly, no one introduces themselves. The vet tech came in the room and immediately ticked off three vaccines my dog would need. Nothing like, "Hello! My name is.." Thirdly, the veterinarian. The person who will take care of my beloved pets if something went awry while being boarded. Incompetent. I simply cannot do justice with the written word. Still again, no introductions, just a grocery list of vaccines only because they did not ensure a complete, accurate, and updated history of transferred medical records. They requested them a while ago without updates, as we are responsible pet owners and regularly keep them vaccinated and checked. Clearly not having the expertise or experience with particular breeds prone to skin allergies, he proceeded to tell me my dog has fleas without even showing me. A flea comb he did not use nor did he, again, SHOW me. When I questioned him, he attempted to make me uncomfortable with their breeding cycle and what unseen havoc is now taking place in my home. Um, no, you did not intimidate me as was clearly your intent. You simply solidified the incompetence I observed the second you opened your mouth and strung the stethoscope around your neck like the stretchable, edible candy necklaces children wear. Lastly, you did not provide me a tour of the boarding facility like you said you would. You did not instill in me the confidence you would care for my dogs in a boarding situation, never mind if they truly needed emergency care. Do not waste your time or your hard-earned money on this facility. This one will leave you disappointed. The one and only star is for reassuring me that I made the right decision to NOT board my pets here. read more
