I'm honestly shocked by the difference in customer service between the Clovis and Fresno locations. We were trying to return a generator after continuing to have issues with it, and the experience at the Clovis store was absolutely awful. We followed the instructions we were given for draining the generator's gas, but, as anyone who owns one knows, it's almost impossible to get every last bit out. Instead of trying to help or being understanding, the staff immediately became rude and argumentative. My husband even offered to take it outside himself to dump the tiny amount that was left, and they completely overreacted, saying they were "late," that it was "against the law," and refused to help us at all. The attitude was unbelievable. After leaving frustrated, I called the Fresno location and spoke with JR, and WOW -- what a difference. JR was professional, calm, understanding, and actually wanted to help solve the problem instead of creating one. That is what customer service is supposed to look like. Because of how we were treated at the Clovis location, I will never shop there again. From now on, I'll gladly drive farther just to go to the Fresno store where customers are treated with respect. Though I may have been treated better if Matt was actually working, but since he can't control how rude his staff is. especially when you're sending that kind of money on a piece of equipment. read more

They rearrange the store and made the rows so narrow only one person can block the row. Rows now go the full length of the room so you can't shop for for what you want. Management also block the rows restocking. Manage is roud, and not helpful. read more

Becareful about buying items with restocking fees even if you don't use it. The mere fact that I tried to see if it fits cost me a restocking fee even if I opened the box very carefully, it had no tear in it and it did not have a tape on it and I returned it in excellent condition the same as when purchased. read more

Terrible service. I called prior to driving across town so that I could return a scaffold I purchased W weeks ago. I was advised that it would be no problem because the representative found my receipt using my phone number. Was told I could go back to the location I purchased it and they could do the same. Closing manager was not very accommodating. Determined that they were sending email receipts to wrong email address She wouldn't give me a refund even though I was advised it would be no problem, even though she found my receipt on her computer, even though she determined that they were sending receipts to wrong email. I hope upper management had a talk with her but I won't be going back to this location ever. My only regret is not getting her name, but if it helps management, it was this evening (09/02/21). read more

It's not this store's fault that a workbench that the website said was in stock here turned out not to be (it's probably all automated). But it is their fault that they only had one person on the ****** floor and that I had to wait in line to find out it wasn't in stock and to check back Tuesday. The store was playing "99 problems and a B*#@* ain't one" over the speakers at (volume) 11. As I was walking the store listening to this phrase over and over again I finally went up to the register and asked if the song was necessary. The young man asked if I wanted to have him turn it off and I said yes. He went to turn it off but by the time he did the song was over. Then he turned on a soft rock channel and turned the volume down to a 2 where you could barely hear it. I probably wouldn't have noticed the incessantly offensive lyrics if he wasn't blaring it in the first place but still, there is no reason to play music like that in a consumer-based atmosphere. I gave them a 2 because the employees gave me no problems when I asked them to change it but my husband did notice that one of the employees was not happy with us. I go to this location a lot... and I do mean a lot... 3 to 4 times a week, just to look, or buy stuff I don't really need. The cashiers and other employees are always friendly and polite. I've never had any problems with using coupons either on my phone, or that I print out. The only real downfall I have with this location is they seem to always be out of stock on the sale items. As an Inside Track Club Member, I'd like to at least walk in and find the items I have ITC coupons for... If they would just increase their stock a bit, this location would get 5 stars from me. read more

I like the store itself, but I would never apply at this location. After walking in (dressed professionally) with my resume in hand. I briefly spoke to a female Supervisor, her boss Gabe was extremely rude. Instead of saying "We're not" ...how about "we aren't currently but we always accept resumes, or check back in a few weeks etc... Also they are currently hiring as I just saw the ad posted on Indeed.com. I'll still shop there as a customer, but wouldn't work for someone that is unprofessional. So much for the Sears-Roebuck return policy, Refused to exchange, return or gift card for faulty generator purchased 9 days ago. I came for a sale and got generator ready then plumbdhdjcjxkvk it was miss firing, I called down and they said just make sure it has no gas in it so I dumped it and made sure I ran it out as they asked. Upon returning I was welcomed kindly by the cashier and she inform the manager that I didn't have a receipt but I have a purchase that same hour as I pondered over which generator to go with. The store was about to close and people kinda piled into line and I grabbed the generator I wanted and made the purchase apparently not giving my phone number. The manager refused all warranty, exchange, gift card or return back to my credit card which I offered to show as proof I purchased it that day. Seeing I had that and they are the only people who sale the dang thing I figured I would at least be able to get a exchange for the same item but no it was even refused. All bad so pretty much bye bye $500 for me and a store I will never return to again and for sure will advise everyone to steer clear of harbor freight, they don't stand behind what they sell whatsoever. read more

It started a long time ago, when one day, seeing my Dad leave to go into town, I asked, "Hey Pop, where you going?" He replied, "Harbor Freight." I then ventured, "Why?" He turned slowly, then said, "I don't need a reason to go to Harbor Freight." There my awe began. It's never ended. Everything from plumbers tools to wheels for a lawn mower. Netting for whatever you could think to do with that nylon netting. And there's more! Generators, chargers, compressors. This store is new and I was asked by someone there if I needed help, and I told them, no...I'm just reveling. Ah HRT... the smell, the cleanliness, the clerks. It was great! I ended up purchasing a Reciprocating Saw. Why, you ask? I don't need a reason to buy a reciprocating saw! Ah the joy, knowing that when I need it, it will be there in my tool box along with all the other saws, sanders, hammers, plumber pipe wrench, right angle, level...... I give this 4 stars because I love this place! The prices are very reasonable & they'll help you figure out how to stock a good tool cabinet like mine. It's supposed to be a great store for inexpensive one off tools for projects, and some of their products actually last a while. But they never have anything in stock! Especially sale items. They have been open long enough to get their supply chain in order and anticipate demand better but they just don't seem capable of doing that. I am tired of going to the store hoping for an inexpensive tool for a weekend project and being greeted with empty shelves.
