In general, hardware stuff is beyond my scope. I will occasionally use a YouTube video to make minor repairs. I visited this Ace Hardware several times since the beginning of March (new home purchase). They probably would prefer I stop watching YouTube videos and thinking I can fix stuff BUT everyone is so nice, helpful and knowledgeable. When I was looking for screws and such to mount my tv to an existing mounting thingy, I ended up taking my tv to Ace. The gentleman went out to the truck and figured out what I needed. I appreciate the kindness and encouragement I get from the peeps at Ace! P.S.: If you see the premade pies in the cooler, don't hesitate to buy one. They are delicious. read more

We contacted Traeger for a warranty issue on our grill. They told us we would go through our local Ace. We talked with Adam who is the tech for Traeger. He did a wonderful job. Everyone was so nice at the store as well. Such great customer service! read more

Ever since true value switched over to Ace it is impossible to find anything in stock in the quantity that is needed. I literally went in for 8 bolts, exactly the same as I bought two weeks prior. Nothing's in stock and nobody could figure out how to get it. I think I'm going to Lowe's from now on read more

Received a Rewards flyer in the mail earlier this week. One advertised item was spray paint 2 cans for $10. I made a special trip to this store to purchase a couple of cans. Went to the paint department and nothing was showing this sale on the aisle. I walked over to the paint counter. There were two employees within three feet of me talking to each other. I was ignored for several minutes. Finally, one very rudely asked if I needed help. I asked which spray paint was on the flyer. The clerk told me that I was wrong and the sale didn't start for another week or so. Claimed it was an ad for a grand reopening, which it was not. He was very rude about it. I walked out and went to Walmart for the paint. When I got home, I checked the ad, and the sale was started on 8/30/2023. So the paint was ON SALE. That clerk made me feel like an idiot for no reason. He acted like I was bothering him by asking for help. Very disappointed with how this person treated a senior citizen. read more

This place need to rebuild staff and attitude towards customers, when you claim customer service you should be ready to serve your customer otherwise why be in business. I rarely come because 1. They never really have what I need 2. Everything they sell is available on Amazon which I recommend you investigate first, 3. Poor customer service...too bad, you try support local businesses but unfortunately just don't get it. I came in with temp gauge and needed to measure the probe diameter, I asked your "service" pro if they could help me out to match a drill bit, he took a look at me and suggested I buy a caliper..I asked if he had one I can borrow to measure, he turned to me with a smirk and giggled-sorry, buy the caliper! Lol, BTW this took place at your service desk at the back of store!!!! read more

The staff here is always helpful and friendly. Always a great experience with them, they are knowledgeable and great priced. Had a water pump stop working during the rain storms, brought it in, they inspected it right away and removed a piece of debris that was blocking it at no charge. Also recently had a water hose I had bought from them fail and was still under warranty, I brought it in and they did an exchange right away. Locally owned business and honestly a great store and have ALWAYS been helped whenever I needed them. Cannot recommend enough. read more

Since my last decade in New England I have always valued the family owned hardware stores especially with true value and this place is no exception . They have a very pleasant and educated staff that support this family run place . On several occasions the manager and come out played with dogs when I bring them with me and they also have treats for them at checkout counter . I am all for supporting well run family owned places and this is certainly one of them. If they do not have an item they will order it and ship it free to them. No minimum orders. They are the reason I will try to avoid homedepot or lowes for a while read more

I enjoy shopping at this place. It's close to my home and beats going to Lowes or Home Depot. They obviously don't carry as much inventory as Lowes or Home Depot but for most small to medium home needs I usually can get what I need. There's always someone available to help out and so far everyone has been friendly and helpful. read more

This place is fantastic. Steve Bassett is the owner and you will often see him at the store. I have arrived at the the store many times late in the evening trying to find one piece of hardware that I can't find anywhere else. I have not been let down yet. That's correct, I have not yet been let down. I keep finding everything I need. I'm nervous about going to the huge box stores because of all the time consumption. In less than 2 to 3 minutes somebody in the store has helped me, including Steve, and I'm out, and back to the house trying to get things fixed. Water leaks, electrical problems, drywall issues, hanging pictures... It's all there. Take a look at the huge selection!!! read more

Thank you for always being helpful. It's always nice to go to the locally owned hardware store instead of a big boy like Home Depot. I've been here several times for everything from a weber barbecue, to spray paint and sprinkler parts. They always make it extremely easy to find what you need, and are more than helpful on several occasions. A great example, when we bought our barbecue, we asked the gentleman if they deliver and his response was "where do you live, I can just bring it to your house with my truck when I get off work." That is service that usually places today do not care to provide. Keep up the great work! read more

The mark of an honest man. The man mixed the paint. I did not hear the pump sound strange, but he did. He showed me the paint that was just ever so slightly off. I couldn't really see it. He did. He offered to make it all over again, I declined and said it was fine. Not to him. He knew it wasn't perfect. I could have left thinking "close enough". But he gave me a choice. " I cannot let you leave with this not right. I'll happily remix it or give you a discount on the current." I would have never known. But he wasn't letting me go without making it right. And that deserves a 5 star salute. read more

Came in here today to get what is called an old work electrical outlet box found them, the price on the shelf was. $.99 I thought that was kind of cheap checked the skew number to make sure it was the right one skew # matched the price on the shelf skew # so I bought 2 after I got out to my truck I was looking at the receipt I had bought a few other things and noticed they charged me $1.49 each for the boxes I don't mind paying $1.49 apiece for the boxes but I do mind it when the price on the shelf is $.50 apiece cheaper that's what you call false advertising and it's dishonest and I will not deal with retailers that are dishonest! read more

This store is the best! I am so glad it is right by my house. I always go here for hardware supplies. I stay far away from the big box stores. Those stores do not have knowledgeable staff members like Adam! He knows about everything and just what you need to fix it. True value is lucky to have him. I need to learn more of the others names in there too. All the girls in there are so nice and very helpful as well. As soon as you walk in they all say "What brings you in today?" I tell them, and they point me to the isle or take me there. It's customer service at its finest. read more

Really beautiful, family owned store. Stopped by recently to check the place out as I am always looking for conveniently located hardware stores throughout the valley. It was refreshing to walk in to a store and actually have a knowledgeable staff that could lead me in the right direction (the same cannot be said about the big box stores). Very nice layout and well stocked (also, super friendly staffed that welcomed me and my pup.) After my visit, I referred my Granny to pay them a visit when she was in the market for a new kitchen faucet and they did not disappoint. She called me to confirm her purchase before leaving the store to make sure she was getting the right thing. The store's manager, Adam, showed her that she could do a video (facetime) chat on her iPhone so that I could see the product before she purchased. After my eccentric grandmother finished freaking out about video call technology that she was previously unaware of, I was able to chat with Adam and make sure that the faucet was right. They have since taken good care of her every time she has visited the store. Definitely worth driving a little farther down Clovis Avenue to get the knowledge and help that you need. Check them out! Terrific local hardware store. Tremendous selection of nuts, bolts, screws, etc. including the bronze finish screws I was looking for. I was only looking for the bronze screws and a flyswatter but I spent a few minutes looking at a wide variety of merchandise. It is bigger than it looks driving by. It is a great alternative to the big box stores and a couple miles closer for me. I'll be back. read more

I absolutely love this store. I have been in there the last few months with minor home repairs. I am immediately greeted by knowledgeable staff that go out if they way to help me. I received advice about a sprinkler valve I thought was bad and the clerk recommended a Solenoid instead. The valve worked perfectly. I had a broken bar stool and received information on how to fix it and was able to fix it in a few minutes. I also have been there for other things too. When I go to the big hardware stores, I cannot find anyone to help me and if I can, they are not helpful. In the past I have had such great experiences here. The employees have been very helpful and cheerful. Sadly today was a very different experience. I had purchased three items to use for a DYI project for my son's wedding. Four days later I came in to return two items that were unopened and unused with receipt in hand. The male employee was extremely rude, acting like I was trying to get away with something and acted very suspicious of me. I really don't think I did anything wrong, but I felt humiliated and then anger. I really like to support the smaller stores in town, but I don't think I'll return to this one. read more

Wow! 1st and last time at this store! Rude, unfriendly staff. Walking around like zombies... Basically could care less about a customer's needs. I'm in an arm brace, carrying 3 cases of canning jars around the store and then out to my car. Cashier could have cared less as I left. He didn't offer a cart or assistance. However, a kind patron in the parking lot saw my distress and helped me carry and load the cases of jars to my car. The employees may be worthless but the patrons still have common sense. Always had a great experience until today, Lowe's and Home Depot no questions asked return or exchange anything you have with or with out receipt. If you don't have the receipt they give you store credit. But today I went to the true value and the gal that was at the front counter was extremely rude and unprofessional they obviously don't like to support the community and they accuse you of being a criminal. She accused be of not buying items from them, she said it was to bad I didn't use "true value rewards" and it's my fault. I said all I want to do exchange and get a different product. She said that's to bad you didn't by those here. But she looked them up and they were clearly her products. I'll never return to shop there way better customer service and products at Lowe's! read more

I recently went to this store to find a float valve for my swamp cooler. Lowe's had a few cooler parts, but not that valve. Long story short, the people at this store went out of their way to find that part even though it was stowed away for the season. This is the opposite of a "big box" hardware store, yet they still have a huge selection of items for home and garden do-it-yourself projects. Without a doubt, some of the friendliest and helpful staff around, and after only a few visits, you're likely to become on a first-name basis with some of them. Always eager to assist you, and unlike Home Depot or Lowe's, the employees are easy to find if you need assistance, and are knowledgeable when it comes to the layout of their store and the products they carry. They also carry several local unique boutique items, so they support local businesses - a huge plus in my book! Overall, a really nice atmosphere because the employees seem happy and eager to help, and being that it's a local family-owned store, you really get the feeling of walking into an older hardware store like what used to exist before the big box stores took over and did away with customer service. I just had the best service from Adam. I went in knowing I wanted a Traeger grill for my husbands Father's Day gift. The only one they had left was the floor model and there was one VERY minor flaw. Adam was able to fix it for me so I was thrilled! BUT that's not all...... he even said he'd give me a discount on the pellets and cover. So He grabbed the cover and pellets and I was not expecting to get anything near the discount he gave me!! I can't tell you how happy I am with their service. They carried out everything for me and held the grill until I could come back with a truck. The gentleman that helped us out was so nice & made sure he lifted the heavy side of the grill for my step dad that was there to help. Being that we own a small family business in Clovis we like to shop local. Great hardware store. I ordered some parts online that I couldn't find anywhere else. I went in when i got an email saying they had arrived. I had never been in a true value before, and the employees where all very helpful and wanting to serve. They were friendly and answered questions with a smile.
