I bought a roof rake online, checking that it was in inventory. I paid for the first portion with…read morean Ace gift card and paid for the balance with Apple Pay. Four hours later, my order was cancelled (I received 2 emails cancelling the order). I called the store where I was supposed to pick up and asked them what happened. The manager said they did not have the rakes in inventory and that they did receive a truck and that it could be on the truck, but they won't know for a while. I asked why my order was cancelled, if it could be on the truck, and he said that it was standard procedure if an order could not be fulfilled by a certain time. Then, I asked how I would get my gift card balance refunded, and he said that I would have to call Ace Hardware since it was purchased online. He did not offer the number to call. I had to request it. When I called Ace Hardware customer service, I explained the situation, and they said I had never used a gift card. I told them I absolutely did. The giftcard was why I chose to purchase at Ace. I asked to speak to a manager. The agent asked why, and I said to try to get my issue resolved. She said I did not need to speak to a manager, was rude (interrupting me), and when I insisted, she said no manager was available and that someone would call me back within 48 hours, and hung up on me. I called back and spoke to a different agent. He heard the situation and also said that I did not use a gift card (which I definitely did) and said that unless I had the gift card, Ace could not help me. I asked why I would keep a used gift card, and he said they always recommend keeping the gift card. I asked where that was published, and he had no answer. He said someone would call me within 48 hours and then hung up on me. I have not received a phone call. At this point, ACE stole my gift card balance and is refusing to reimburse me. Not only do they have a flawed inventory system, but they also have a flawed checkout cart that does not correctly identify payment methods. I received 2 cancellations -- because I paid in two installments (gift card and Apple Pay). Absolutely the worst customer service experience. I am out of my gift card balance, and I still don't have my roof rake.

I have found some members of the staff at this store to be hostile to someone who walks in with a problem looking for ideas and materials to complete an important task. The young man who "helped" me today offered no greeting aside from "What can I do for you?" without making eye contact or offering any sign of a desire to help. As I explained what I was trying to accomplish, the guy was nodding his head like he was already tired of interacting with me. Understand, the shop was not busy, there was one other customer being assisted by someone else. When I referred to the common brand name for a product he was showing me, he did find enough time to correct me and explain that this was different than the product I mentioned, as though I couldn't understand that. Finishing up, I said in a calm tone, "Sorry to have disturbed you with this." He countered, I'm not disturbed, But I'm not an engineer for figuring out what you need. I can put it in a bag for you." I was infuriated. I had another question about a second project and when I brought it up, he said, "I can't tell you anything about that." I asked if there was someone in the store who could help with it and he sent me down the hallway to speak with someone I suppose was the manager. This was a more complicated issue. And, while he was not as openly "Over" my needing help with a problem, he was clearly in a hurry to be done with the conversation. If Plumber's Supply wants to be an outlet to the trade, then they should post that on their window and online. It is a terrible experience to walk in looking for help only to be made to feel like one has trespassed into an area where only the informed are welcome. Of course, they happily rang up my purchase and took my money. PS - the plumbing guy at Home Depot found everything I needed in less than five minutes. the whole project revolved around an item that cost me $1.27 there. I have to go back toPlumber's Supply from time to time. They sell things I need. But it is never something I look forward to and often something I avoid.

Bought a very expensive 5 gal plant (among others). I knew it didn't look "well" but they didn't…read morehave a great selection so I bought it. Brought it to my back deck, watered it (it was bone dry). Next day....seriously suffering. They give you a "guarantee" and tell you they will refund if you send them photos. I did. They didn't and they didn't help or even respond.. $70 gone, but maybe I can rehab it with time. Since then, bought the same plant for half of the price. Doing nicely. Saw a smaller one for $20 at Job Lot!!!! Doing fabulously. Both of the other ones I purchased are Proven Winners brands. the one from Olsons was not, but is that the reason it's drying? Think not....think they just don't care for them once they are on the lot. Prior to that I've spent at least $200 buying annuals. About 50% of them aren't making it, Think again before you you go here. Product inferior, staff inexperienced....plus they are pretty "grumpy" dealing with customers. There are several other nurseries close whose prices are better and who seem to have more knowledge. Don't bother buying your summer/year round plants from here.
