Don't go here if you're looking for any degree of customer service. Definitely don't go here if you need help finding something, or information on a project. Don't go here if you're expecting to find business owners who are focused on anything but themselves. Recently, I made my second trip here looking for a specialty item that I just didn't want to order from Amazon on a Sunday afternoon. I figured I'd check Aubuchon even though my last trip here ended in me walking around looking for a wall fixture before finally leaving empty-handed. This time I made it to the doorway before I had to stop since the very narrow entryway was blocked by a customer chatting with the aforementioned owners/managers/takers of space- whatever they are, they weren't moving out of the way. In fact, with the exception of one of the three who glanced at me then went back to the convo, they completely ignored me trying to enter the store. Sure, I can stand out here while everyone chit chats. Finally the customer winds down and moves towards me, apparently planning to walk through me to get out of the store. Okay, I can feint and dodge with the best of them! Still leaving the three employees, one of whom I expected to at least look my way since they were in a tight formation about 18 inches in front of me. Social distancing? Nahhhhhh. Unnecessary, since they turned and walked right past me, to stand on the outside steps and watch yet another employee work/play with the forklift. Two laps around the store and I was ready to leave - again, emptyhanded. I caught sight of the very last employee left in the store who tried so very hard to pretend I wasn't there. Nice try but again, bob and weave to catch his eye. I asked my question and I got the classic retail clerk blank gaze that says, "if I just look at you and pretend I don't know what words you're saying, perhaps you'll go away and leave me alone." Yep, I left. Emptyhanded. Wove my way around the employees still standing outside, dodged the forklift guy who was back & forthing with abandon, and reached my car feeling like I avoided getting somehow ripped off. As a parting shot, forklift guy jerkily backed up until he was about 4 inches from my car before stopping. While they all watched. And didn't say a word to him. I thought they all felt a little cheated that he didn't actually hit me. I know I felt my time was stolen, so I guess we all had a little bit of a disappointment that day . . . . Skip Aubuchon Hardware in Manomet. Sacrifice a principle just once and go to a big box store this one time, it'll be worth it.

I called my Kingston, MA Aubuchon hardware store as they carry the products, I needed clarification on its content. The gentleman I spoke to asked me to read the labels on the various products and to each he responded if they did or did not meet the requirements of the collection. He was courteous, concerned and interested in assuring me what items to take or not, This positive response I received on the phone is the same I receive when either I or my wife shop at the Kingston, MA Aubuchon Hardware store every time. I can't stress the value they bring when ever I shop an especially when seeking technical help for a project.

By the time I got to the…read moreregister, I had one person tell me it would be just a moment, then another cashier came up, looked straight past me (a woman) and told the man behind me in line he could take him next. Maybe this place is fine if you're a man, but if you're a woman find somewhere else. Even if this hadn't been my experience, two employees were bickering at the front desk with one saying how stressed out he was by everything happening and had his head between his hands, leaning on the counter.

When I want something more unique or high end I tend to go elsewhere. My complaint and reason for 4 stars is all stores are understaffed and way under trained. I talked with garden center and they said most they could do was 10% but agreed the chunks were bad and 50% would be reasonable. They sent me to customer service. Only 10%. I pointed massive chunks at base gone. I told him garden center said ask for manager Allison who could override. He walkied her. She didn't even bother to come down. Left the poor kid at customer service kind of hanging not understanding her response. He finally asked the other woman at customer service about it, who earlier said they won't do more than 10% because they would just put it on the truck. Now she said the manager was saying the process was to send it to the back for mark down. It's a process she said. I said I am standing right here wanting to buy it. Are you saying you will send it out back and sell it to someone else for the discount? She said yes. I said why not sell it to me? She said not today. It's a process. I said your manager has the ability to override that. I ask the young man to get her back on the walkie and explain there were two large concrete chunks missing from the base and can she put in an override to bypass the process. He did and She answered "No". Honestly that is bad business practice. My Home depot never would have handled that situation like that. I frankly will never spend another dollar there after that. Couldn't even bother to come see the bird bath herself nor attempt to interact with a customer. I left the cart right there and told my husband we were done shopping today. We were actually there to order a large pallet of pavers and wood to build a pergola. I'll spend my money elsewhere.

Brought my Ariens snowblower differential gear into the shop for inspection for wear. The mechanic looked at it and didn't think this was the problem, he suggested to look at the sprocket bushings, a common failure item. Turned out it was the bushings ($6 part). Saved me the expense of the differential part ($160 part). Good to know that they are not looking to sell you expensive parts that are not the problem. Trust in repair service is rare these days.
