Every time I've gone in and asked a question, I've gotten a snarky, condescending answer from a slender older man, plus a young cashier who couldn't answer the simplest question and had no desire to be helpful in any way. And the store has always been a disorganized wreck, stuff piled everywhere. They need to take lessons from Madden Ace Hardware on Fairview Rd in Asheville. When I walk in there, the cashier asks what I'm looking for; I tell them, they radio that department and by the time I walk to that department, there is an associate there waiting to help me!! When I need anything hardware related, I will wait and purchase from Madden on my trips into Asheville. This place is ridiculously bad.

They're just exceptionally nice. Also, they're crazy helpful. I walk in the door and show the gentleman what I need. He says "oh, that's a union brass diverter valve, come down here, I'll show you where it is" what I didn't tell him it's I spent two weeks figuring out who the original manufacturer was! Should've just come here to begin with. I typically only shop at Lowe's. Lowe's didn't have what I needed. I was at Lowe's in Hendersonville North Carolina two nights ago and there are so few workers that…read morethe customers have to hunt them down. I was in the kitchen section waiting for a sales person, then saw two walk up to the cash register just talking, in eye shot of me. I was waiting for them to come over to where I was and what I was looking at. They never did. They know you're there but don't make eye contact. I had to approach them. And then when I went to the bath section where I needed to purchase items for a remodel, I located a call button on a desk and someone did appear within one minute. That was nice, but it is very frustrating to have to hunt down someone to help. Sales people no longer approach and ask if you need help. And at times I will see an employee only to be told, "I don't work this section." I feel somewhat bad as though I'm interrupting them when I ask them to locate someone who can help, but I should'nt. I'm sure Lowe's receives MANY complaints in this regard, but they obviously don't care. Companies and employees sure aren't what they used to be.

During Helene their staff was as vacant as normal, whereas Home Depot brought on extra staff and their credit card system ran inhouse only so you could make purchases with a card. Stocking is hit an miss most of the time, you need 100 rafter ties and their computer says they have 200, but you find only 7. I wanted to buy a microwave oven of a particular type that their computer said they had in stock, no they didnt. They said I could get it if I ordered it and paid for it, in about 10 days. I went home and bought it from Amazon and it was on my porch the next day, the price in this instance was the same. The company is impossible to contact, they have no email and they use Chat for questions, plus they now charge you $2 to pay the bill with a check. I just spent 3 grand on supplies for a home repair, every dollar was spent at Home Depot, I will never go back to Lowe's again, and the biggest insult? They just don't care.
