While clearly, this is normal for owners and managers of this Ace Hardware store, they clearly have no idea of the Progressive clientele of this uptown area. I grew up hunting and fishing and so I'm no stranger to guns but have come to realize that the world would be a better place with fewer guns and ammunition. I'm very disappointed and will likely make more trips out to Lowe's to avoid supporting this store.

Went…read moreto this Lowe's Oct 6 to purchase a counter depth fridge, they were having a big sale, a young girl tried to help me but had no clue so 2 older employees walked by and she asked them to assist me. They all had that "deer in headlights" look when I said "counter depth". Gave them the measurements and they couldn't figure out any fridge that would fit , mind u they still had no CLUE. I finally said "This is basically the blind leading the blind" , I'll go somewhere else. I would have thought they would offer or at least call a "knowledgeable" employee to help, NO they did NOT. Said they were sorry they couldn't help and thanks for coming in! My immediate thought was "Thanks for nothing and you can bet I won't EVER be back inside a LOWE'S" Thanks for wasting my time (to the 3 clueless) employees. I left there shaking my head. The next day I went into HD and had the best experience purchasing my counter depth fridge. Customer service was excellent. Lowe's can SUCK IT

Employees were very nice and helpful…read more I had never been inside of a Sutherlands before, but came inside after looking at some of their plants outside in the parking lot. The front of the store seemed like they were renovating a bit or moving displays around. They have a small area there in between the restrooms that is a single dog washing station! They seem to have a nice selection of different products, and had I not been in a rush, I would have loved to look around more.

Before massive orange or blue hardware stores. It seems like ACE was the original friendly neighborhood hardware store. But no, this is actually a new-ish location (2017, maybe?) and I haven't really internalized its presence. But I should. You should too. In the age of the aforementioned hardware behemoths, it's actually pretty darn rad that this spot is here. It's the same owners as "The Store" which is a specialty grocer that has a very fond spot in my heart, as it was grandma's grocer of choice. It's really an eclectic spot which reminds me of those old time hardware stores that do sell hardware, but also party supplies and decor and all kinds of things that don't fit into the category of "groceries." I'm a fan. But those big stores got popular for a reason, so if you are hardcore set on just hardware and lots of varieties of it everywhere, this smaller ACE will not have the same selection. But there's something charming about not having a billion choices, and about finding what you need, directed by a friendly person who will help you find it.
