The Harbor Grille has the best view on the entire lake! Unfortunately, the service was subpar. We waited at the hostess stand as multiple waitress and what looked like a manager, walked by without even speaking to us. The hostess, who was also cleaning, busing, and setting every table, came back and move us to the bar until our table was ready. She seated three other small groups before us, before I had to get up to asked her when we would be seated. She admitted to forgetting about us and pointed outside and said, 'There's a table out there, for you guys', which we walked to by ourselves. Our waitress was no better. We rarely saw her, but saw other waiters and waitresses because they all came to the table asking to take our drinks. Clearly, there is no service/table 'order' because they didn't know which table was theirs or not. The food was even below that. Never had worse nachos or a Caesar Salad. We ordered chicken on the salad and it was pretty clearly re-heated frozen chicken breast. I know because they're the same frozen chicken breasts I buy at Costco. I'm not sure how you can mess up a tequila sprite, but they did that too. I meant what I said - this is the best view anywhere on the lake! Just don't expect good service, food, or drinks. Buy some food from Blacktail Market and eat it on the docks, you will have a much more enjoyable time. read more

Harbor Grille is a welcome delight on Flathead Lake. First impression is the view from being right on the water. Walking inside we noticed how very clean everything was and how friendly and knowledgeable the staff was too. But the real surprise was their New England clam chowder! We are from BOSTON so forgive our skepticism about finding great chowdah in Montana. The fact is this compares with the best in BOSTON. Maybe it's the abundance of clams, the bacon, or the spicing, whatever, it's very good. It makes us believe their other seafood offerings are definitely worth a try. Not worth the money. This restaurant has a great atmosphere but misses the mark. We waited over 5 minutes for hostess then another 10 for table when restaurant was not that full. They just did not have clean tables. Food is mediocre, bland and fries were cold. Only reason for the 2 star was because waitress was nice. New owners need to get on the ball. read more

An overview: The food is basic at best... for the price you could get much better food almost anywhere else. Service is consistently bad even if uncrowded - (the servers themselves do their best, just seemed like bad management?) - Bar tenders were very rude too. The worst thing about this place is the owner, who seems not to care about the locals in Lakeside, as Harbor Grille has been blasting horrible "music" every Saturday night lately, until the early morning hours! like my own, there are many young families in the area and I'm sure I am not alone in saying that being kept up all night every weekend is NOT appreciated!!! Very disappointing and inconsiderate, that the owner would cater to the tourist partiers at the expense of Lakeside's residents. If you care about such things, (or about something as basic as being allowed to get enough sleep before work the next morning) do NOT give this place your business! Only Okay... Unfortunately the food had good flavor but the service was less than steller. When orderd the food came out fairly slow but they were busy so I will give them the benefit of doubt. But unfortuntly the food was cold and they where out of baked potatoes within 30 mins of when they officially started serving them for dinner. Oh and refills... What refill they did not fill are glasses intill we went out of our way and asked the passing hostess. Probably won't eat here again which is unfortunate because it is a great spot with a great view and the meal was flavorful but cold is unacceptable in my opinion. read more

This is the best new restaurant on Flathead Lake! The space has been completely remodeled with reclaimed wood from the old marina. With large sliding glass doors and a generous patio the views of the lake and mountains is spectacular. Several slips are available, so you can drive up or boat up. The menu is casual dining with great seafood and burger items that you would expect to be served waterside. They have a fully stocked bar and a decent wine list that matches the menu. My favorite so far is the crab cakes, meaty and flavorful. Given the fact that they just opened the new space with all new staff leading into peak season I think they have done great job. Beautiful view of the mountains and the lake. Friendly servers and fast service. Basic menu and the ahi tuna and burgers were very good. Nice new porch and many big screen tv's. Plenty of seating outdoors on the new deck. We have been coming to this location for decades and this is by far the best incarnation of this space. read more

I felt compelled to leave a review because this was our last meal of our family vacation, and we all felt sick afterward. The view is great, and service was decent, but the food was sub-par, barely edible and obviously came from a freezer. Also, there are no vegan/vegetarian or gluten-free options on the menu. We had a burger, 2 orders of fish and chips, and a salad. We also got calamari as an appetizer, and it was NOT cooked. Worst of all, we ALL felt very sick after our meal. read more

We gave it another go- happy to see changes on menu. However asked to sit outside and was told only for large parties. There were plenty of open tables and at least four with three people at the table-the same size as our party. We ordered the ribs, philly steak, chicken club and pretzel. The philly was nothing more than bread. There was little meat, minimal peppers and very little cheese. The ribs were bland and the chicken sandwich was more bread than sandwich. The server had no personality and was not engaging at all. We are very disappointed in the food and really were hoping for a better experience than last time. We love to support our local community but for $15 sandwiches that were absolutely sub par- I'm afraid we will not be back, nor could we recommend the food to anyone else. If you want an average priced drink and nice view- it's the place to go. read more

The atmosphere and view is amazing! The staff was friendly and attentive. The reason for the three stars is that although the restaurant was not busy, it took a long time to receive our dishes. My daughter did not enjoy her macaroni and cheese for she thought it had way too much cheese and I tend to agree. My son enjoyed his cheeseburger and I shared the chicken club with my mother. Normally chicken clubs could be dry but this was well seasoned with extra (almost too much) sauce. Overall we might return if we are passing through again. read more

Harbor Grille is new to Lakeside and it must beat its competition in order to survive. I've eaten here three times and unfortunately the entrees' quality is not as good as the previous meal. Amazing setting right on Flathead Lake, dockside, wonderful service, great food, fast delivery of food! 5 of us visited 9 days into the grand opening. Very modern, cool seating inside and out on the dock. You can pull your boat up right to the seating area. Good selection of wine and beverages, appetizers and meals. We were all very impressed and enjoyed ourselves. This place is going to be crazy busy as the season goes on. Right on the water in down town Lakeside, Montana. Very awesome fire pit on the dock. Wouldn't hesitate to come here again and bring friends! Very fun environment. Lots of big screen TVs too! The tour ferry boat leaves from this dock too! read more

Dropped in for a Friday late lunch - very slow time, but service excellent and the remodel is incredible. Huge wall of windows bring the outdoors inside. Hard to think of a better view on the lake. Had appetizers and were very pleased. This location is amazing, but suffered from sub par restaurants with mediocre food. It's a refreshing change. And a great spot in winter now too. read more

I went there at 2:50 today and was told that it was a 30 minute wait to be seated. One table was being used inside & not a single stool was filled at the bar. Only about a third of the outside tables had customers. The couple in front of me turned and left. I left then went back and asked about all the empty bar stools an tables. Nothing to recommend but the view. We have tried it twice hoping the first experience was opening jitters. On the first visit we experienced disorganized management, slow service, and overpriced, mediocre (packaged) food. Second visit was the same. We were told on both visit that there was no seating available outside (the reason we went there) even though there were numerous empty outside tables.
