This is possibly my new favorite restaurant in the Flathead Valley. Farm to table, nose to tail, seasonal food, prepared beautifully with excellent flavor. Be advised this is a place for a dining experience. If you are someone who likes to be in and out in an hour this is not for you. Plan to spend 2 hours or more leisurely enjoying the ambiance and tasty cocktails and food. My first time I had the pork Milanese which was phenomenal and a tasty s'mores desert. Today we went for their Dim Sum Brunch which carries on the tradition of the old owners. I believe this was their first attempt at it, and I hope they continue. I got distracted and forgot to take pictures of the third course or the mooncake before I bit into it. My uncle is celiac and both visits they have been very accommodating and gave separate allergy menus that list common allergens. read more

The food was very good! We also got the tempura artichoke hearts but I ate them too fast and didn't get a picture. Lol. We went on a busy night and it seems they only have one waiter who is also the bartender. It was very weird. I had ordered a second drink and a meal Togo for my mom but neither of those ever came. But like I said only one guy working his butt off to help everyone, that's bound to happen. I would have tipped better and stayed longer but for those reasons we chose to get the check and leave. Hopefully we'll get to try the dessert next time, I was really excited to try a couple desserts on their menu. read more

First timer visiting this establishment with my hubs. Everything was fantastic! Food, service, and ambiance! I definitely recommend the Korean fried chicken. It's so good I wish I could be like sponge bob where I could throw it up and eat it again (if you know ya know). The hubs got the southwest burger which was also amazing. The aioli that you can dunk your fries in... my goodness, m garlic loving soul has been touched. Everything!! So much to get into the whole night was a disaster. Took forever to get drinks. One wrong ten mins later new drink arrives after we all are almost finished with our drinks. Realise how slow they are we order our food. Two two salads and 6 dinners. About 20-30 mins later appetizers salads show up. Well ok. 5 mins later two dinners show up. Barely started in salads. Next comes 3 more dinners ok whatever one missing. Ten minutes later no 6th dinner. We complain oh it's coming. He now eats half of his girlfriend's burger which was dry and his dad's bison. No dinner. Ok cancel it he's full she said she would try!! No cancel it. Two of our party ordered to pork sausage horribly dry couldn't eat. Complained again. Took steak off bill and 1/2 of the cost of the sausage. Really. Oh there's more. Ordered bread no show! Ordered a $100 bottle of wine no show. I'm not sure if it was waitress or management but we definitely won't be back. By the way my trout was very good. You guys better get your act together this is small town. read more

What a horrible experience. We ordered drinks and they took forever was the start. We decided we should order right away due to the timing of the drinks. We ordered apps, some salads and our mains. Everything came out at once. Awful! Except for my brother's bison that was actually never ordered and never came after 20 min of rest of the food. The trout was very good and the one bison that actually arrived. The hot links were SO dry. We could barely swallow them, literally tasted like cardboard. We told server to finally cancel the bison which seemed to be an issue?! Then we told her about how awful the hot links were, she did apologize profusely after our experience but not once did the manager come to the table to actually address the issue. Serious management and training issues. She then came with checks and announced that they took the bison off ( of course you would) and our inedible hot links were 50% off!! You have got to be kidding me?!! I think the manager should have had to eat our hardly eaten hot links as punishment. Try your food management. read more

I'm worried a share plates place is going to be too fancy to survive here, but we ordered almost everything on the menu and pretty much all of it was exceptional. Great cocktails too. The highlights were the fried mushrooms, the chicken nuggets, the garlic scapes, and the spinach. Lamb meatballs also strong. I probably wouldn't order the popcorn again but it was fine. The French fries were some of the best I've ever had. It's not cheap but if you want a cheeseburger there are like three of those joints five minutes away. read more

It was so good, we visited twice during our trip. You can tell the chef loves food - the flavor combinations were thoughtful and delicious. I felt the Lettuce dish was a miss, but everything else we tried across two evenings was phenomenal. My personal favorites were the Bison and the Mushroom but would also recommend the Trout and the Cauliflower. And you can't beat fresh, locally sourced ingredients. This place is very underrated-- we heard the menu was recently re-done a few months ago, and everything was amazing. The menu is set up as small plates served family style and all the food is locally sourced. We had the deviled eggs, mushrooms, spinach dip, garlic scape, rainbow trout and bison. Everything was so unique and exquisite with great service. We had Mada as our server and she was perfect. I'd describe the food as American combined with middle eastern flavors. The vegetable sides were the best tasting vegetables I've ever had. Since the food is higher quality, there is a higher price, so I wouldn't recommend if you're just looking for bar food. But it's a perfect place for an elevated dining experience and we're so glad we came across this place!! read more

They had a wide selection of quality beers, both local and imports, plus outdoor seating that overlooks beautiful Flathead Lake. I would definitely recommend and will be returning soon! read more

We ordered: Starters: mushroom dish- tasted awful, it taste like wet socks Tempura artichoke- again awful, it taste like used old oil to fry, overall the taste just wasn't there Thai chicken wings- this was okay, we ate it all but a little over salty Brussels sprouts- undercooked, tasted like it was cooked under a lamp Entree: trout - the trout itself was ok but the Condiments around it doesn't seem to go well with the trout , there was some cheese like feta cheese, pickles, and salad leaves but overall very picklish Korean fried chicken- it was okay but too spicy Salad entree- nothing special about the salad The best dish here was the corn dog from the kids menu Service was okay. It was my first time visiting this establishment. I took 6 of us to Dim Sum for a birthday dinner. Food was excellent! Service was not very good. The staff that did have contact with us seemed like they had been up for 7 nights of straight partying. No one ever came to check on us BESIDES to take the order and drop the food. And for some reason, the bar door was WIDE OPEN even though it was only 12°F outside that day. My family and I FROZE as the draft blew straight into the room and on the table we were sitting at (right in line with both open doors.) Literally took 10 minutes for someone to even come by so I could ask to shut it. Finally I had to get up and have the bartender close it. Judging by the fact I watched other guests put on their coats while sitting there, I would guess they were cold too. First world problems? Definitely. But I'm PAYING FOR A SERVICE... so I would expect to FEEL warm and cozy while it's frigid cold outside... not like I'm homeless trying to survive while I get some food in me. I've been in the service industry for almost 15 years I'm various roles in FOH and as GM. There's NO WAY I would let me FOH staff be so inattentive and unavailable. For as much as the plates are and the exclusivity of Dim Sum... I was insanely disappointed. To PAY $165 for my family and I to have dinner in the freezing cold while someone who didn't want to deal with us (or anyone) ignored us, basically, was infuriating. This was NOT a good experience and I don't suspect I'll ever come back. I will be sure to tell guests who come thru our restaurants what my experience was like, and recommend they save the time and effort it takes to get to Woods Bay... and just dine somewhere else. read more

Was going to give this place 4 stars.... BUT... We went in on a Sunday and ordered brisket and the Korean chicken. My husbands brisket was ok, it was covered in a red sauce that wasn't quite tomato but wasn't really BBQ. My chicken tasted good in the restaurant. It was two chicken thighs and a small bit of rice which made $15 seem steep. I started to get a stomach ache (unrelated) so I only ate one piece of chicken and took the rest home. Dove into the takeout box a few hours later to find the other chicken thigh was RAW! The one unforgivable mistake... serving raw chicken. Wouldn't come back simply because of that. Menu changes all the time. Even the website wasn't up to date. Service was 2/5 stars. read more

We loved the upscale, yet casual feel of this place, and we were a little upset we had already eaten! There is clear intentional choices regarding the atmosphere of the place, and the dog friendly patio is helpful too. Dessert was absolutely spectacular--we split the decadent "pudding cup" and the cheesecake. Don't let these simple titles fool you into thinking they're simple dishes! We tried the Bonfire last night for the first time. The reason we tried it was because we had two vegans and two non-vegans and it's hard to find a restaurant that can serve both. Their online menu had a vegan curry dish as well as multiple veggie sides, so we gave it a shot. Before I mention why there is only 4 stars out of 5, let me say that the food was delicious! I'd give it 5 stars anywhere. We had two curry dishes and two lobster/mac and cheese dishes as well as side items and all was good. Though I would save my money on the bread that was not all that great. When we went to order, the menu had changed and they no longer had a vegan option. This is a strange change when so many are moving to not eating meat, but perhaps in Montana this isn't a big movement. We would never have gone there with two of us not able to order anything other than salad. But the waitress was SO FABULOUS! She understood and asked the chef what he could do and we ended up with a vegan dish. That was what service is all about and I enjoyed the meal immensely. I'd skip paying for the signature drinks. Might have been a substitute bartender (?). They were small for the price and came out of the bar slowly instead of all together. I'd probably go for wine or beer. So, the biggest advice is, all of the food is great. But if you have dietary limitations, don't rely on the online menu because it may not be up to date. My wife, daughter and I had an excellent visit to the Bonfire! It was pretty busy for just another weekday evening but we were seated out on the patio right away by the very friendly staff. The menu is really diverse, affordable and, above all, delicious. We were each able to find something to satisfy our individual tastes (I had the Triple B Burger, she had the Agedashi Tofu Bowl and our daughter had buttered noodles) and really enjoyed all of it. The food was really well prepared and delivered to our table quickly. We'd love to visit again and try out some of the awesome looking signature cocktails they offer at the bar. Great stuff! We went as a family last year to Bonfire and everyone was happy with the experience. In light of that, I took two friends last night and ended up apologizing for the choice. Yes....it got weird. I was unaware the restaurant had changed hands, but was very willing to give it a try. The popcorn had good flavor, but was probably the worst popcorn I have ever had. Lots of unpopped kernels and most of the rest of it was just hard. The Ploughman's was tasty but really skimpy and the chicken nuggets (all 4 of them) were overcooked with one sauce on the side...BBQ. We did not get drinks and ended up hungry after $50. Met someone on the way to our car and she said her friends were in last week and went away hungry after $100, so I imagine we got away lucky. I don't see how this restaurant will survive if things don't change and quickly. read more

Stumbled across this place while driving back to Missoula from Glacier. The ambience was lively and hip for the area. The service could have been slightly more attentive but our server was slammed. The fried artichokes were delicious. I greatly enjoyed my bison burger and fries. The lobster Mac was spectacular. The bartender is great, he is the only saving grace for the restaurant. Unfortunately, the new owners gutted the menu and seem a little split between the two stores they bought. Removing the KFC was the biggest mistake they could have made. The new chicken option is okay, however they don't provide enough sauce with it. If you come here, just know, you are going to pay $80 for some semi decent bar food. Portions are small, they screw you on the sauce portioning, and the food is bland. So happy we stopped here. Literally tried to stop at 4 other places between Glacier and Bigfork with no luck. These guys are open until 10, which was a plus for us getting out of the park late. The place wasn't half full but most of us waited an unusually long time to get attention. I saw a couple actually leave because it took so long. The beer was fresh and local.
