This mismanaged dumpster fire of a restaurant could be great. The food, when it eventually arrives to your table is actually pretty good. We had a party of thirteen and walked into a seat yourself setup. That's an eyebrow raiser for a such a large restaurant. Not only do they have a banquet room upstairs, but they also have an entire dining room and closed a patio that is roughly twice the space of the indoor restaurant three full bars, one inside two outside. They're right on the water, which is also a great attraction. The unfortunate thing is the staff, including servers and kitchen staff are incompetent. In a restaurant that demands you see yourself, you would think that the weight staff would be attentive and paying attention when a party that Large comes in and sits down. They were barely half full. btw: the parking is extremely limited, but "conveniently" there's a gravel surface lot you can pay to park in right next to the restaurant. I had to go to the bar after 20 minutes because no one came to see us if we needed drinks, food, etc. The bartender sent the waitress over who said oh I didn't notice you, I thought you were ordering all your food and drink from the bar. I guess I just assumed. Strike one We ordered drinks which came actually fairly quickly. We ordered nine different appetizers, which were all delicious, including cheese, curds, pretzels, walleye bites, etc. The appetizers took nearly 45 minutes to arrive at our table. We were reluctant to place a dinner order at that point because we wondered if it would actually get to the table in a reasonable. Eight of the entrées came out 30 minutes later. Three took an additional 15 minutes. One took another five minutes. Another never came. We repeatedly asked our waitress to look into it. I had to hunt the server down again. She finally came back and said that the kitchen swore they brought it out, but that they were yelling at the server (her words) because already made it it was brought it out. By the time it made it out to us we just told them to box it so we could take it with us. That means one person out of 13 in our party didn't get dinner. Their only solution was to take that off but still add the 20% mandatory gratuity to the check for absolutely #%€+]% service. I spent over $500 on a very frustrating experience that took 2 1/2 hours for us to get out of the restaurant. The waitress told me she blamed the small kitchen. I don't know how you could have that small of a kitchen in a restaurant that size. Ridiculous. I called and left a message for the management team: Chris, Jaron, and Adam. Left the details. No return call a week later. Avoid this restaurant at all cost unless it comes under new management. Such a frustrating experience. read more

Harbor House is a nice place to sit on the patio in the summer and watch the boats on the river. On most weekends during the summer they have live music, so that is always nice. I had a perch sandwich recently that was pretty good, but the kettle chips were simply a bag of chips. Nothing special about those. I find the food hit and miss here, but do enjoy the atmosphere. I had the fish basket, the fish was slightly overdone, and those round fries were crispy on the outside and soft in the middle, kinda hard to chew. My wife had chicken nuggets and the fries which were the same. The prices were kind of steep. Sitting on those high chairs was kind of uncomfortable. You couldn't relax. Four for lunch on Wednesday, 2:00 or so, not busy but a few tables occupied. Our server was friendly and efficient and meals did not take too long to arrive. The HH burger was OK, over cooked but a generous serving of fries, comes with chips. My wife had the Nashville hot chicken sandwich. Visited this establishment specifically to see a band on their patio. The patio is first come, first serve so you need to scope out tables when it's busy. They have two outside bars which made it a little nicer to have a drink while waiting for a table. Once we grabbed a table, a server came over to take drink orders, give us menus, and somewhat cleared off the dirty table. We ordered Walleye Bites and Walleye Tacos. I ordered the Orange Crush off the drink menu for something different & new. The drink was delicious, but overpriced. The food was really good! We googled walleye near Huron and this place popped up, we decided to stop for a quick early dinner on the way home from cedar point, my husband got the walleye basket and I got the perch, the perch was eh and portion was very small. However his walleye was fantastic! My daughter got the pulled pork Mac and cheese it was a large portion, she enjoyed it. Only downside is that once our food was dropped we didn't see the waitress again for a long time, no refills and we were done eating for a while before we got our check. The drink menu is pretty expansive and there are two popular river-side bars to enjoy the drinks. While enjoying a drink outside on the river, there is live music every weekend during the summer (Thursday-Sunday). Overall, a classic spot in Huron, Ohio during the summer. First time at this restaurant and I 100% will never come back, they don't have a host, so good luck finding a table without getting cut by random people walking all over the place, food is over priced and bland and soggy or dry, I ordered the ahi tuna b.l.a.t, it came out if some dry white bread, two pieces of tuna, and a bunch of lettuce, with no avocado, it was so dry and flavorless there was no way I was going to eat it especially for 20$ I asked the waitress to replace it... it took 40 minutes to get the tacos instead, and guess what? She charged me for both because I ate the fries while waiting at my table with everyone else eating around me. Strange? I have worked in restaurants on and off for years, never have I ever had an experience like this, as a customer, or god forgive as the poor waitress who had to take all the blame for the "manager" who gave her the short end of the stick and risked her tip by not handling the situation properly. We highly recommend the Bushwacker (speciality drink) The menu is filled with walleye and perch (tacos, by the pound, sandwhiches). Apps were pricey with lots of fried options. They offer 2 salad options, a kids menu and a full bar. Kitchen service was slow. The team arrived at noon Sunday for lunch. I was very happy they accommodated a group of 20 inside the restaurant. It was our last day and we wanted to find a dog friendly bar and grill overlooking the lake. My Mr had this bookmarked on Yelp. He called the restaurant and thankfully they do welcome pets. You can seat yourselves so we chose a picnic table with shading. Our server was very kind and brought our Frenchie a dog bowl. Very thoughtful and greatly appreciated it. The menu selection has a a lot to offer from appetizers, tacos, meals, sandwiches, wings and more! They do have a good craft beer selection, specialty mixed drinks, domestics and wine. I opted for the Walleye bites basket ($16.99) which comes with sidewinder fries and coleslaw. My Mr got the Perch fingers basket he subbed the fries for the sweet potato waffle fries (which comes with a maple sauce) and it came with coleslaw. For beers my Mr got the Catawba Island Lake Erie love (Kolsch) and I got the Twin Oast Eriesponsible Pale Ale. Both on drafts. We didn't have to wait long for our meals. The were both delicious. Both the fish were fresh and not greasy. The fries were amazing. Especially the waffle fries! The maple sauce was a perfect with it! I was legit surprised that this spot got such low reviews. Honestly, I really enjoyed it, and my lady did too. Plus, being VERY dog-friendly was a plus in my book. My lady and I were about to start a drive home from a relaxing vacation in Huron, OH, and wanted to stop by a local place for lunch first. We saw this spot here on Yelp, and despite the low ratings, we decided to check it out. The place looked pretty cool, especially being right on the water, with lots of outdoor seating (dogs are only allowed on their outdoor patio). Our server was super friendly and brought our dog some water when she brought our waters too. Their menu was fairly diverse and their beer menu was nice too. My lady ordered a Twin Oast Eriesponsible pale ale and I ordered a Catawba Island Lake Erie Love kolsch (Yeah, even after the not-so-good experience at their brewery. See my review on then for details. Still good beer though.). For our meals, my lady had the walleye basket with sidewinder fries, and I had the perch basket with sweet potato waffle fries. Both came with cole slaw. Everything was very tasty and the cole slaw tasted super fresh. Both the walleye and perch were excellent, definitely the best we'd had in the area on this trip. First found this spot on Memorial Day. We stopping in and grabbed some dinner with our 2 dogs on the patio. They had live music which was decent and entertaining. Food was average with service on the low end. Our experience was good enough we would come back. Fast forward and we brought our son and his fiancé for dinner. Again live music with a 80/90 band. They were pretty good. Service was better but not great. Food was pretty good and better than first visit. Pulled pork nachos were great. Loved watching the boats on the river. Only negative was sanitation measures were lax. Our table was sticky and not cleaned well. Had to ask for a wipe down. I noticed other tables barely being wiped off. More focus on speed in flipping the table than take time to do it right. I would come back but would want to see better cleaning protocols. read more

My wife has a gluten and dairy allergy and it was very hard to get confirmation on what foods she could actually order. The waitress tried her best, but seemed like no one was knowledgeable enough about the menu (not even the cooks). One of the waitresses definitely went above and beyond to assist us. But our order was taken and a little while later the waitress is came up and basically said ordering the salad was her only option and that what she ordered would not work after being told that it would. That was very disappointing. Then in the middle of ordering her salad, my meal is brought to me. Our meals should've been brought out to us together, even if it meant re-cooking mine due to the inconvenience. It was very disappointing not eating with my wife. I would've given them three stars if our dinner was brought to us at the same time. I got the perch and pierogi dinner, the perch was very good and perfectly cooked m. the pierogi's were deep fried and they were hard crispy and dry. I expected the pierogies to be soft and sautéed on the grill not hard, crispy and dry cooked in grease. This has to be the lowest rating i have ever given a Restaurant. My boyfriend got their raspberry jalapeño poppers burger as his main and soft pretzels as his appetizer. Everything sounded great on paper. We were excited and really hungry. Took forever to get to order. Food was worse than frozen food. I'm pretty sure they served us frozen food. The bang bang shrimp was barely drizzled with a sauce that was supposed to be spicy Mayo but instead tasted like Buffalo sauce. I had to get more sauce on the side. It was so bad I couldn't finish my plate. The coleslaw tasted so bad and I like coleslaw typically! The fries were decent. The pierogis were lukewarm and decent. Came with lukewarm grilled onions and sliced sausage. Edible but I could have gotten something better at Walmart's frozen aisle. The burger was overpowered by raspberry sauce and the jalapeños were not spicy at all and had no flavor. The cream cheese was bland. The patties were dry and overcooked. We came here based on reviews from a friend, so expected more than we got. No seating available outside, so we had to eat inside where it's freezing cold from the A/C and dark, because it's a bar. One ordered a BLT and one a shrimp p'boy, both with the sweet potato upcharge. The server doesn't write anything down, so it's no surprise when the food comes, that everything isn't right. One club had sweet potato fries, and the BLT had rosemary fries. Told her the problem and she said there wouldn't be a charge for the sweet potato fries. No kidding, we didn't want them with the Club. We had to handle the mistake amongst ourselves. Anyway, one club had all the heels of bread as the bread, which was awful. The meat was too thick and no flavor to anything. The BLT was fine as was the po'boy. Prices are low, so you basically get what you paid for. After spending most of the day cruising to Kelly Island and Put-In-Bay, our friends were interested in stopping for dinner on the way home. As we entered the town of Huron, I remembered another friend mentioning the Harbor House as being a decent place to eat. The restaurant is your typical waterside bar/restaurant. The inside is dark and rustic. The rather large bar is the heart of the inside of the restaurant. (Strike one). Unfortunately, there are very few tables on the outside deck, all of which were occupied. (Strike Two) With two strikes before we had even looked at a menu, I was concerned that we had made a mistake picking this restaurant. However, things improved from this point forward. Our server (Melissa) was warm and friendly. The menu is not large, but we each found something to eat. My wife ordered a club sandwich and I a BLT. I upgraded my side from French Fries to sweet potato waffle fries. My wife enjoyed the Club (it was large, so she took halve home for lunch the next day). The BLT was vey good, but the waffle fries were the star of the meal, especially with the dipping sauce. Service was very good and prices were very reasonable. read more

Pleasantly surprised! We traveled with our pup and teens and needed to find a place to accommodate both and were happy to have stumbled here. The food was awesome! We had: *3 different types of Mac and Cheese (southern, bbq pork, steak) - sinfully amazing *Pablano steak tacos - yummy *Fiery Fritos Steak Wrap - sooo good! *BLT - oldie, but goodie. We asked for it without mayo, it was wrong, but fixed after 10 minutes. They completely remade it and the side item. *Sidewinder fries... OMG, best fries ever! I would return just for these fries. We also had some of the mixed drinks that were good Dirty Shirley and a Blue Lemonade. Must mention that we were here during Sunday lunch and sat on the patio with our dog on a gorgeous day. There was a cover band as well as a biker bingo (Harbor House was a stop) so the place was hoppin'! Our waitress was swamped but always smiling. Disgusting, everything was luke warm to cold. Not the waitress but one of the servers brought out the wrong order then gave me an attitude about it. Brought out the correct order which was cold cause they kept the sauce refrigerated. Daughter's cheese burger with egg wasn't cooked all the way through, I would've ate it but not a six year old. The fried egg had black stuff all over it from not cleaning the grill. The iced tea was like Nestle powder junk and gross too. My sister in law said when she was here it was fantastic. I don't know how anyone could bring themselves to work here. The downstairs bar is more tacky than a bar inside a trailer home. Not a joke. You can tell it WAS formerly a nice place but some Darilek filled it with the crappiest tables and chairs. It looks cheap, dirty and I was embarrassed to have taken a friend there. Just moved to the area and was trying to find a new place. Walked in and waited 10 minutes for our table to be greeted. We ended up walking up to the bar to see if we could get some service and was told that they saw us and would be with us when they can. We finally got served after 15 minutes (there was only 15 people in the restaurant). Our waitress was amazing. She was the only one working as all the other workers were playing with the slot machines and sitting around including the bartender.
