While they were quick to demand signatures and documents, they became unresponsive and evasive when it came time to release funds they were holding--money I was clearly owed. Annette, who handled most of the communication, frequently appeared confused and unsure of basic escrow procedures. Even worse, Mary--the owner--never once responded to my repeated inquiries about a significant estoppel holdback. This lack of accountability and professionalism is unacceptable, especially in a business handling financial transactions. I had been trying to close a difficult and complex Real Estate deal that stumped my previous title and escrow companies. Family, Whatever you do please DO not use this company!! I too give them a "0" on their professionalism!! I was purchasing a moble home and put a down payment with them, well I ended up putting in a Cancellation Of Contract once it got to escrow didn't sign any paperwork this was on March 17, 2022. The person that was supposed to be handling my contract Jessica Summers I talked to a couple times seemed like she wanted to help me get my return on my deposit! So on Friday I called all parties involved to put them on notice and find out where they were on my deposit will guess what Jessica didn't return my call I left a message and still no call two weeks ago!! I understand that this is an escrow company and they can only do so much it's the professionalism that matters she could have call me back even if it was bad news!! So now I'm in the process of reporting all parties involved with this whole transaction to the Department of Real Estate let's see if they answer there calls!!! DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY they won't help you unless they're getting money out the deal!! Will update!! read more

Harbor Lights Escrow handled the sale of a rental property for me in October 2021. There was an overpayment of property taxes, and I was assured by HLE it would eventually be refunded. I spoke to the local assessor's office in December 2021- they requested a statement from HLE about the over payment. Nothing - I have made 2 requests and also contacted HLE via their website. The property is now sold again and my buyer will probably get the tax refund. Unacceptable! I would love to be able to update this review with a positive outcome someday. read more

I am giving Harbor Lights Escrow NO STARS. The absolute WORST escrow company EVER!! RUDE staff & very unorganized!! Everyone there tells us something different about the information we need!! I'm 22 & my fiancè is 27, we are young home owners who are still learning the basics. Teresa Monroy is the ABSOLUTE RUDEST person there, she made me feel belittled & LAUGHED at me like i was stupid because of a miscommunication we had. The staff there should TEACH young home owners, not make them feel stupid. This isn't the first time we are buying a house so they could have had our business in the future, but NEVER AGAIN will i come back or recommend this place to ANYONE. Don't waste your time, go to people who deserve your business! UPDATE: Unfortunately, my Fiancé and I need to express a negative conclusion to our escrow closing. We closed escrow with Harbor Lights Escrow on Thursday, July 23, 2016. We were finally done and wanted to move forward from a horrible experience with a particular Harbor Lights Escrow employee. On July 2, 2016 we received a letter from our Homeowner's Insurance Company stating that our homeowner's policy was rejected due to incomplete paperwork that was not forwarded to their company in a timely manner. We were immediately sick to our stomach. My Fiancé contacted our homeowner's agent and met with him a few days after. The agent stated that they did not receive our homeowner's insurance payment through Harbor Lights Escrow until July 5, 2016 and thought that the delay was unacceptable, as far as, an escrow companies requirements. We were insulted, shocked, and extremely disappointed that Harbor Lights Escrow would handle time sensitive client's homeowner policy in such a unprofessional manner. We are thankful that we did not encounter any damages to our property during the time of June 23, 2016 to July 5, 2016. We believe that Harbor Lights Escrow intentionally delayed our payment and took our negative business experience with them to a personal level. We are appalled that Harbor Lights Escrow stooped this low to interrupt our lives and behave in such a uncaring and unprofessionalism, which is contrary to their mission statement. read more
