The dog park was a highlight, large and grassy, our pup loved it. We loved it because she was always tired and content. There seem to be some nice restaurants and breweries close by. We spent most of our time downtown. A great place to stop if you are visiting the area and/or passing through the area.

Everyone's seen the signs for it on the freeway but decided to take a deeper look. It's a cool…read morelittle spot to get out of the car and stretch your legs. Who knew it was (the first!) site of vertebrate paleontology in the US? Interestingly, there is also a short hike through a wooded area (5-10 min) that takes you to a mini-zoo-like viewing area for a herd of Bison kept there. They were pretty lethargic on this hot summer day but cute nonetheless. It's at least worth one short visit here -- a worthy investment of ~35 mins from downtown Cincinnati, anyway.

Private showers with a toilet and sink. The one connected to the office is semi private. We tent camped and were on site T2. Very spacious and grass pads. So no matter the size of your tent it will fit nicely. Ours is in the photos. 13 ft in diameter. The pool, playground, jump pad etc were all in great shape and well maintained. The camp store had all the things you made want/need. Text the office and they'll deliver to your campsite even if you buy firewood. Lots of hardwood trees for shade. No raccoons or critters at night messing with your things. Quiet and peaceful environment and lots of squirrels and birds to see/watch. 40 minutes to downtown Cincinnati. Casino less than 10 miles away for those who like to gamble, premium outlet mall close by as well. Definitely will be back! The only thing I could suggest is swings for bigger kids & adults. I love to swing. lol

Throughout the campground, kids were riding electric scooters, and people were driving golf carts recklessly with little regard for others. Ironically, the posted 5 mph speed limit didn't seem to apply to the maintenance staff, who were often driving much faster. There are alot of run down seasonal campsites that gives this place the vibe of a run down trailer park. The biggest issue was the hidden fees and reservation process. The website allows you to select and pay for a specific campsite, giving the impression that it's reserved. However, what they don't tell you is that, if you don't pay an additional $25 "site lock" fee (which was not clearly disclosed during booking), another guest who is willing to pay that fee can take the site you selected. I've never encountered a campground that operates this way, and it's incredibly misleading. Between the poor customer service, lack of cleanliness, unsafe behavior throughout the campground, and unexpected fees, I would not recommend staying here.

This was a clean campground with plenty for kids to do. The pool was very clean and I saw the lifeguard check the chemicals multiple times. For adults, theres a nice little bar. Definitely no complaints there! But, what stood out for my friend and I, was the exceptional customer service. And while I won't go into details, we found ourselves in a situation and the owners went way above and beyond to help us out! We couldn't be any more grateful for their kindness to us strangers! I told my husband I would definitely like to return for a longer stay, for that alone! If the owners see this, again, thank you so much for your help, we truly appreciate it! Can't wait to return!

I enjoyed the Whispering Hills RV Park and its location. There are full hook-up sites, a swimming…read morepool, a lake, basketball, bark park, bar, picnic tables, and a playground with giant blow ups for the kids to enjoy. There are plenty of places around the park to just sit and enjoy a book. Some sites offer fires, but ours didn't. There are two laundry locations, but they only have a few washers and dryers. That's not enough when the park has 230 sites. Expect to wait for one to open. You do have a picnic table, but it's time to repair them. They did add in their flyer to call if you have an issue with your picnic table. You mow and clean up your site after someone stays, so you should already see any table issues. When I get to a site I've already spent many hours driving and don't want to call with any issues. I want to set up, relax, and enjoy the amenities. The property is very clean and well managed. They have an employee take you to your site and assist you in pulling in. We would definitely stay here again!!

We love this camp ground. It's a hidden gem off of 127 in Frankfort. Just minutes from the capital…read morebuilding and Buffalo Trace Distillery. It's nestled back into nature and right on the Kentucky River of course. We are full timers and have been living here for 4 months and we are going to be sad to leave. The campground is filled with everything you need. There's an awesome common room with tables a fridge stove TV/Cable also A WiFi Cafe (just ask for password) and laundry room. So many things all there for your use. There's also an awesome men's and womens restroom that they just redid the floors in and are now painting! Two showers each is very convenient. If you want a fire pit by your camper just ask! Most people here have their own. You may not be parked on the river. But it's just. Short walk and benches are available for enjoying the views. It's a very short walk to the water from anywhere in the camp. Most of the campers here are share holders and only come for the weekends so during the week it's very quite and relaxing. Many weekends there have been live bands and so many other fun activities going on! Every is usually friendly and polite. Don't forget to wave at your neighbors! Charles, Rus, and another gentleman (sorry I forgot your name) do an amazing job to accommodate you during your stay and work hard to make the campground what it is. Don't forget the office where you'll check in and such has items available for sale from sweets to t shirts.

Discovered this nice little Campground in Frankfort this weekend. Never knew this place existed…read more Quite little get away about 10 minutes off the interstate. No cell service down at the river which is just fine. Beautiful view of the Kentucky river and a great place for kids to just play and be kids. They have a wonderful meeting room that is good for family gatherings. Recommend this camp grounds if you have an RV and are wanting to get away for a few days.
